I was certain I'd make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame someday. Never mind that my family disapproved of me using my special advantage on the field. Sponsorships, professional leagues...Just four years of high school, and it was all gonna be mine. 

Until a backyard baseball game with my brother Eli led us to discover a teleporter that took us to another planet. And we immediately lost the teleporter in an embarrassing, humbling way. 

Good news is, there's a clear way to get the teleporter back: win a baseball tournament. Specifically, the Calamity Competition. Easy enough, right? Except the whole planet of Rethara (including my new teammates and worst roommate ever) hates me for being related to "prize-stealing, petty losers" (ouch), lava-wrapped pitches bring a whole new meaning to the term heater, and turns out, I'm not half the player I thought I was. 

And when Eli discovers our family history isn't as simple as it seems, he puts us in way more danger than I ever expected. Winning the tournament may not solve our problems after all. 

Because on Rethara–baseball is not just a game.
