I was DELIGHTED to step back into the Scare B’n’B! As someone who loves anything like this, it is one of those book locations that I wish were real because I would make a booking instantly and perhaps I’d ask for Ted and Frankie to have a day trip out because I’d love to meet the Duke myself! These characters are so much fun that I want to stay in the world of Scare B’n’B as long as possible so Bloomsbury, please keep them coming!

The concept of new ghosts brought to the Tarturus Hotel by an impending celebrity wedding was such a GENIUS way to bring in a whole new host of afterlives for us readers to relish in. From a questionable psychic, an overzealous opera singer, a mysterious bride, a guilt-ridden Reverend to a Captain caught in the Tarturus lake, I LOVED every single new addition so much. Catherine Doyle never takes a step wrong when it comes to characterisation in this world.

I adore the fact this is a series where the characters are going to grow with the series. I have a slight fear of series where characters don’t get the chance to develop and are stuck in a weird stasis. But in Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun, we get to see Ted and Frankie’s relationship grow not only with each other but with Luke, Nan, and, surprisingly, the Duke himself! We even get some character growth for baby Hazel! I cherished it so so much.

This world is so fruitful and the concept is so brilliant with the hotel at the heart, that I truly wish this series will go on for at least a dozen novels. The possibilities are endless and that’s a testament to Catherine Doyle’s beautiful imagination that makes these stories so enjoyable! An absolute must-read for the start of the Halloween season, while I wait as patiently as possible (which means impatiently) for the next book, I cannot recommend preordering enough!
