The delicate matter of the consideration of the veracity of the bones of St Peter in the Vatican is treated with much cautious, respect, honesty and pragmatism. This book is a gem, the kind of book I am going to quote in my classes at the uni. Why ? Because it offers what humanities have to offer to enrich one's mind : the discovery of how humans are evolving through the ages, about the understanding of their environment, and how time is itself a construct. In our time, one of the tendency is to forget about the past, and to focus ... on the phone. The light Upon You helps to explain that nothing is forever, and that the perceptions of respect, fears, and progress are to evolve as well. The author is trying at every word to be fully accurate, honest and transparent about how everything written about the remains of St Peter. In a very clever fashion, he uses a mouse to help us, the reader, to scrutinise centuries. There is a complementary website where photos will be posted soon according to my understanding. The whole process of analysis, clarification and humour makes to book impossible to put down. It is such a relief to read such a brilliant storytelling, accuracy and sense of humour, all so cleverly orchestrated in the age of AI. The author commits not to have used AI and the cover is from the work of a human illustrator. Even through the passing of time and progress, human capacity to reinvent perceptions and analysis are here to stay.
