Father Otto Meier, the Vatican’s Remediator, investigates issues that might adversely affect the Church. His latest investigation focuses on the murder of a young lady who talked to angels, possibly committed by two priests. His investigation leads him to discover the Ninth Choir, the creatures that mankind believes are the angels who protect them and guide them every day. Otto’s investigation unearths the Creator, who manages humanity on the planet Earth by walking among them; a sixteen-year-old Archangel; and Viking-like warriors who protect the angels of the Ninth Choir as they go about their work among humanity every day. Oh, and then there is Miriam, a 500-year-old elemental witch with a foul temper, a hardened heart, and a dark soul. She believes in angels because she fell in love with one. Now someone is killing all the angels, which has thoroughly irritated Miriam. This is the Ninth’s story. But at its heart is the story of Miriam and Anna.
