Description

THE LAST EXORCIST ON EARTH IS ABOUT TO UNLEASH HELL IN SPACE.

The Exorcist meets Aliens in a savage, darkly funny collision of demonic horror and alien-invasion science fiction.

Earth has fallen. Alien ships rule the skies, abducting the last survivors for grotesque experiments. Claire and Derek are on the run with their daughter, Elisa—who carries a terrifying secret: she is possessed by Satan himself.

Their only hope is Father Kang: a fast-talking Italian exorcist with the fists of a street fighter, the swagger of a gunslinger, and one impossible plan.

Get Elisa aboard the mothership. Unleash Hell. Let the demons do what humanity’s weapons could not.

If Hell destroys the invaders, humanity may survive. If Kang loses control, Earth will only trade one apocalypse for another.

    WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Demons versus aliens
  • Grotesque creatures and apocalyptic action
  • Gallows humor amid the bloodshed
  • Original interior artwork by Israel Rivera
  • Memorable characters and genuine emotional stakes beneath the carnage

For readers who like their science fiction apocalyptic, their horror unholy, and their heroes just crazy enough to save the world.

Advance Praise

"The next great genre obsession... feels less like a conventional debut novel and more like the opening installment of a sprawling genre franchise."— GeekTyrant

Haunting Skies is so good, it haunts me. It’s wildly original and cinematic, with everything I love—horror, aliens, the supernatural, and a wicked sense of humor. In all my years working in horror, I’ve never encountered anything quite like it.”— Christopher Young, Emmy-nominated composer of Hellraiser, Sinister, and Drag Me to Hell

“Silly fun, packed with over-the-top, high-octane bloody gore that takes things to the next level. Full of self-aware humor!” — Dana DeLorenzo, Ash vs Evil Dead

"An amazing and gritty sci-fi epic! In a world that needs original ideas, this story needs to be made into a film!"— Jessica Hardin, Festival Director, and Marco Neves, Creative Director, Pasadena International Film Festival

"It's so refreshing to read a book that perfectly balances epic sci-fi horror with great humor and incredible heart. Highly recommended and now waiting for part 2!"— Jesse Able, Able to Scare, horror content creator

As Stephen Hiller once said in Independence Day, "Look, I really don't think they flew 90 billion light years to come down here and start a fight, get all rowdy..."
Well, y'all go right on thinking that Sugar Buns, because the devil is in the details when disturbingly horrifying aliens come to town, with all the swagger of creatures from "The Mist."
And Satan? He'll definitely be kicking ass and taking names when it comes to intruders trying to work his room...So hold on to your racehorses, Regan. And hold Satan's beer.
Thanks to Christian Kang Bachini and #NetGalley, I've been salivating over an ARC copy of this delicious tour de monster of a novel (and sometime soon, I read on Variety, a motion picture) that is like a Halloween candy bag full of horror references from pop culture that will make you stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!
Now you know I love a book if I can't shaddup about it and such was the case with my husband, who I was trying to describe how whack-a-doodle one of the monsters was and he said "It sounds like a cross between the blob and the Thing. (Turned the page and?) Bingo. ("It's like the Thing had sex with the fucking blob..." Father Kang blurted.) Let's just make sure we are talking the John Carpenter/ Kurt Russell one.
And I will also argue to the end that Kang is (to me) more like Cooper Howard's "Ghoul" from Fallout, especially where his sense of humor lies.
Good stuff. I am ready for part two this Halloween.
