Description

A world-class scientist. His family in peril. The world on the brink.

American scientist Dr. Michael Faris is the lead scientist at the Institute of Defensive Nanotechnology (IDN) in the USA. In a glass auditorium north of Los Angeles, Michael shows a room of generals how nanotech could change warfare forever. His wife, Maria, the Caltech physicist who once came first in every quantum mechanics class she took, knows it already has. She fears for the future of the world, and for their daughter, Thena.

Then, one day, late at night at IDN, Michael receives a call from an unknown number. They want something only Michael can build – doomsday nanotech. “We have your daughter. She is safe … for now." Thena’s been kidnapped, and Michael must now build what he knows he must not - or else.

Under investigation by UNICON, a new global intel agency, Michael has to race through the Middle East, China and Russia to find and rescue his daughter – and save his family, and the world, from the weapon he has helped to make.

A Note From the Publisher

American scientist Dr. Michael Faris is blackmailed into creating doomsday nanotechnology, but then travels to the Middle East, China and Russia to avert a global catastrophe … from the weapon he has helped make.

NANO is a global sci-fi techno-thriller with the highly contemporary theme of asymmetry: between nuclear warfare and A.I.-enabled nanotech; between the disruption of technology and the balance of humanity; between the world, its superpower states and the nuclear family; and ultimately between a man, his wife and daughter.

NANO has been envisaged as the innovative fusion of global geopolitics and science-fiction; balanced between the contemporary journalism of TIME and WIRED magazines and the best-selling thrillers of Tom Clancy and Michael Crichton; between real science fact, such as the White House’s National Nanotechnology Initiative, and global science fiction, as featured in Hollywood blockbuster movies such as Spider-Man, The Avengers and James Bond.

As part of the new exciting global franchise series, Technopolis, NANO is internationally released as the cutting-edge fast-paced cinematic novelization of a highly acclaimed screenplay and forthcoming film, which readers can first enjoy as a book, then as audience members at cinema theaters worldwide. Published on July 4, 2026, to mark the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the USA, NANO pays tribute to the literary cultural milestone of the Great American Novel, the cinematic cultural milestone of the Hollywood Movie Blockbuster & Screenplay and the innovative cultural milestone of the Global Intellectual Property (IP) Franchise.
