It was such an unexpected good storyline!
If you like a great mystery mixed with a little syfy-supernatural vibe this book is for you! The story draws you in and you get hooked to keep reading and reading. I didn’t at any point find myself not engaged in this story. I was completely emerged into this world I wasn’t expecting.

I am writing this review as a part of an ARC provided through Netgalley and Julie Savanth. I will be giving an honest and unbiased review based on my extensive love of all things psychological thriller/mystery.
This book is so incredibly different from anything else I have ever read. I mean that as a great compliment. The most I could maybe liken it to would be Marcus Kliewer, We Used to Live Here. But that is more in the unique themes covered. In terms of pace, characterization, content this book holds space in a category entirely its own.
Basics: we follow Rachel as she searches for her missing son, Matty. The circumstances are suspicious. Her husband Dom immediately becomes suspect 1. A web of other teen disappearances is woven that leads us to more and more questions. We can’t quite put a finger on whether someone has murdered Matty or if something more nefarious is happening in the woods.
Parts I loved:
Unique themes, a deeply scientific meeting with mystery that is still “user friendly”. I somehow could follow along and understand. I never quite knew exactly where the story would go. Was this all real? Or was it all the desperate concoction of a grieving mother? I happily followed the trail of breadcrumbs to the completely satiating ending.
I wholeheartedly recommend this read and I’m absolutely pumped to know there is more coming from Julie in the Sandbox trilogy!
