Description

Deep space transport pilot Zeph flies solo in the black, never allowing herself distractions or real connections. Lonely? Maybe, but she can't risk revealing her stolen alien cargo from Jupiter's icy moon Europa. Everything changes during a resupply stop at a space station when Zeph encounters and reluctantly saves Stellan from catastrophe. As they team up to escape deep space disasters and Zeph wrestles with her conflicting feelings, "opposites attract" is just one of the physics lessons Zeph and Stellan will put to the test while stuck together on her ship.

When Stellan reveals a devastating conspiracy, Zeph becomes the unlikeliest player in a power struggle of interplanetary proportions. Forced to acknowledge that the secret she's been protecting could be the key to securing humanity's future, is she willing to reveal the mysteries of Europa? And can she truly trust Stellan?

In this debut novel from a former NASA manager, Lunar Rendezvous is an action-packed and spicy space adventure perfect for fans of Atmosphere, The Expanse, For All Mankind, Project Hail Mary, and the Lady Astronaut series.

I am always on the lookout for amazing adult sci-fi romances between humans, so the blurb for Lunar Rendezvous grabbed me straight away and it didn't disappoint!

Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down, so I read it in one go today. It's a fantastic debut novel. It didn't surprise me at all to read that the author is a former NASA manager, because the science (which, as much as I love the genre, usually goes over my head) was really well explained here - it felt realistic and feasible, and was at the right level of complexity for me to read it easily and without feeling like a dumb-dumb! I just ate it up.

Lunar Rendezvous also has the perfect balance of space adventure plot to romance (main characters Zeph and Stellan make good use of that zero-g for sure). Both main characters also felt like adults who, although they didn't have everything figured out, at least vocalised that and avoided miscommunication. The drama definitely came from the plot rather than from their relationship, which is personally what I love to see.

So if Vesper Black writes more books in this sci-fi world, I'll definitely read them!
