Perfect for Summerween, Rory and Ezra are the most adorkable pair of theatre kids who have been cursed into a paranormally forced proximity.

Set during Halloween the book is full of spooky and cozy vibes. Rory is working as a ghost tour guide in her mothers curiosity shop in Boston. She reads tarot, mixes her own tea blends, performs seances, and her roommate is the tidiest spirit you’ll ever meet. Her rival, Ezra is a history buff who, despite starting the job to make ends meet where his teaching job can’t, he’s fallen in love with the theatrics and maybe a certain coworker. He loves trivia nights, collects old coins, and is covered in tattoos of his favourite historical events. (And let’s give it up for a short king)

The tropes are all my personal favourites and if you’re a fan of Ashley Poston, you should definitely pick up a Mallory Marlowe. I know I’m certainly going to be going through her back catalog while eagerly waiting for the next book.

If you love romance and anything paranormal then this story is definitely for you. There were times I was giggling from pop culture references and the bickering banter between the two main characters, and times where I was just completely lost in the amazingly written hauntings by ghosts.

I truly enjoyed the way these two characters come together even though they 'believe' they hate eachother to try and best a curse they find themselves dealing with.
The Ghost that Rory has in her apartment makes me sad I don't have a whimsy ghost living in my home. I also really find myself really wanting to join Rory and Ezra on one of their Ghost Tours of Boston, the way they just bounce of of eachother even before they realise their feelings is so contagious.

The ultimate comfy, cozy Halloween read with a sweet happily ever after. I loved the forced proximity setup and how naturally Rory and Ezra’s relationship progressed—their competitive snark with each other, and Ezra’s acceptance of Rory’s paranormal side was so heartwarming. Temperance’s sassy, fiery spirit (pun intended) was fun to see it pushing the pair together. Watching Rory’s mum put herself back out there added to the story, and I really appreciated how the main characters resolved their conflict. A wonderfully charming seasonal romance!

This was such an enjoyable read. I couldn't put it down and I read it in one sitting. I loved the author's writing style and I was hooked from the very first page. The story was easy to follow and had a great cast of characters. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

I read Love and Other Conspiracies a few years ago and absolutely loved it so I was very excited to see that Mallory Marlowe had added another book to the series. In this book we follow our main characters start as enemies who are cursed to have to stay together or have incredibly bad luck.

As always I love the supernatural that Mallory Marlowe adds into her books and this is no different she really creates a world where you can believe it's all real with the backstories and evidence provided for ghosts and curses. Our main characters are very easy to relate to as someone now in my late 20's and still finding my place in work and life and having that self doubt within myself it was very nice to see how our MCs deal with it.

I would recommend this book but if you haven't read Love and Other Conspiracies yet, start with that as those characters do make a very nice reappearance here.

Entities to Lovers revolves around the two MCs who have been cursed and have no choice but to stay together or they will both have bad luck. I read this book in one sitting because I was immediately hooked. I found this to be humerus but also heartwarming. The self doubt the FMC faces is relatable but inspiring with how she chooses to move through it.
I would not consider this to be ‘Enemies to Lovers’ but more ‘Rivals to Lovers’.
This was my first time reading a Mallory Marlowe book but it will not be my last.

This was such a cute, cosy Halloween read and the perfect book to curl up with during spooky season (I read it in summer because I just could not wait till October).
I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers and even though the reason these two considered themselves enemies was a little silly, that honestly made it even more fun. Their banter was funny and had me smiling throughout the whole book. The playful back-and-forth between them gave the story so much charm and personality.
I loved the shop and tour setting so much. It felt spooky and atmospheric with just enough paranormal mystery to keep things interesting without losing the cosy feel.
The romance was so sweet. I found myself genuinely rooting for them to work through their own personal issues and find their way to each other.
Mallory Marlow created a story that was funny, heartwarming and delightfully spooky
Honestly my favourite of this series so far.

I adored Love and Other Conspiracies by Marlowe. I was so excited to see an ARC of Marlowe's available on Netgalley.

Aurora 'Rory' is a medium who can see and speak to ghosts. Ezra is a history professor and tour guide at Rory's mom's shop. They both hate how attracted they are to the other.

Interestingly, Rory and Ezra were more similar than they were different. It was a good change of pace from a typical opposites attract romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the build of their characters, of their relationship.

I loved the forced proximity due to a curse. So fun! However, I thought that there was a great opportunity to have the third act drama be external to Rory and Ezra's relationship. Instead, we got a third act breakup.

I thought the sex scenes were great. More romantic than you often get in contemporary romance in 2026.

Marlowe's writing is witty and engaging. I love their paranormal romances.

I loved the unique concept, the playful chemistry, and the way the story balanced supernatural elements with a sweet and engaging romance. Full of witty moments, unexpected connections, and magical chaos, this was such a fun escape.

This is such a fun romance book perfect to read during the spooky season as our main setting is Ye Olde Spirit Shoppe, complete with a helpful haunted doll and many oddities and curiosities.
The shop also runs ghost tours and rival guides, Rory and Ezra, clash so much that a ghost curses them. The curse forces them to stay close as each time they are apart something bad happens to them.

Rory is a spiritual medium and the daughter of the owner of Ye Olde Spirit Shoppe and Ezra is a professor by day and tour guide by night. Their journey from animosity to romance is a good one and I think they complemented each other well and helped each other work through their issues. There are a few little misunderstandings that get in the way plus a ghost obsessed with Rory since she was a child that they need to tackle, plus the other ghost that cursed them, so there’s plenty of plot.

I did struggle to connect with Rory at first because I didn’t under her animosity towards Ezra and it came off as a bit juvenile but I did like her as the story progressed.

I’m looking forward to the next book which will be all about Ezra’s brother. There was a sneak peek at the end of my copy and it seems like it’s gaming themed, which I love.

This has been my first venture with Mallory and what a delight that was! I will definitely be checking out the first one from the series.
The plot was interesting and fast moving, the characters relatable and the romance cute.
The MVPs of the story were definitely Clementine and Miss “there will be no miscommunication with me” Temperance.
The side characters were a bit two dimensional, the third act breakup unnecessary and the CORSET ON BARE SKIN scenes (we really should know better by now) frustrated the hell out of me.

This was fun! I've enjoyed Marlowe's other books and this one was probably my favourite out of the three. There was a delightfully spooky but not scary vibe, with ghosts and our FMC being a medium and tarot card reader. Very cosy vibes.
I really liked both lead characters; their dynamic was very fun. They're so similar that they clash about everything, but feel so strongly towards each other that it swings back around into love.
A lot of this story was about not feeling good enough, and how we often see ourselves so differently from how other people see us. Both leads had different experiences with this, and I really just wanted to give them both a big hug. I know what it's like for your own mind to tell you you're not good enough, even when no one else is really thinking it. It's really hard to back yourself when you feel like that.
There were just two things that didn't quite work for me:
First, historically, no one wore their corset against their bare skin. They wore a chemise underneath it. Rory would know this!
Second, during pub trivia giving the teams air horns to indicate they want to answer the question? Sounds like the absolute WORST decision. And maybe it's different in other countries, but where I live, you all write down your answers and whoever gets the highest total at the end wins.
Overall, a sweet and easy to read story with some spooky but not scary elements.

Entities to Lovers ask the question of what would happen if we turned the forced proximity trope into a supernatural curse, added in the cosiest fall town, and a gaggle of ghosts. The answer is the perfect autumn read that had me begging for something with pumpkin spice.

I was expecting a bit more paranormal romance vibes, while I would say the book actually fits more as a romantic comedy with some supernatural elements. That being said, I absolutely loved this book and I am recommending it for everyone’s fall TBR. It is chopped full of witty banter, realistic struggles, and a truly charming romance. Mix that in with a quirky supernatural shop in Boston heading into the Halloween season and you are in for a truly fun read.

The story is dual POV of our FMC and MMC: Rory and Ezra. Rory is a paranormal medium and witch, whom works as a tarot reader and ghost tour guide at her mother’s shop. She is five feet of charm, personality, and a sprinkling of anxiety. Same, girl.

Ezra is simply put just the best. A history nerd with dark curls, tattoos, nail polish, and a flair for the theatrics…The author had no right to call me out on my taste in men like this, but here we are. Plus I am here to support a shorter male love interest who is described as looking like he could not survive the Industrial Revolution. Just perfection. I loved watching him come into his own throughout the story, and as always, I am a fan of a man who knows how to worship his woman.

The two main characters are forced together when they find themselves cursed by a ghost, physically unable to separate without reaping negative consequences.

This story is quite light on the enemies to lovers, and as someone who loves that trope, I would say it falls more into workplace rivals to lovers. Both characters struggle with their own anxieties and feelings of worthlessness, which projects itself into their workplace competition. Entities to Lovers sets itself apart from other workplace romances by its cosy and quirky backdrop in Ye Olde Spirit Shop. I loved Rory and Ezra's dynamic and the dual POV is perfect for watching both dance around their attraction to one another as they struggle with their own self-confidence.

However, I wanted more of their stories. Do not get me wrong, they are great characters and I love their relationship, but I do enjoy a bit more depth. We get snippets of hearing about Rory’s traumatic childhood interaction with a ghost and Ezra’s belief that he has disappointed his family. Neither of these are given much depth, and I believe a bit more development in this really could have made these characters shine.

Entities to Lovers is without a doubt the cosiest fall read and is an essential add to your TBR for anyone who enjoys a spooky atmosphere, a few mischievous ghosts, and two lovable idiots who cannot stay away from each other. Literally.

Autumnal and whimsical, this was a great rainy day read. Two rivals who secretly like each other but pretend not to get cursed by a spiteful spirit. Horrible things happen to them when they're apart, so they're stuck together until they figure out how to break the curse. Who doesn't love a story where people who believe they're unlovable fall in love with each other?

I loved this fun romp - the characters were easy to root for but still came with their own complex issues they needed to overcome, the chemistry was sizzling and the supernatural element was the perfect cherry on top.

Rory is a paranormal medium who works in her family’s little spirit shop and also gives ghost tours around Boston. Ezra is the annoying-but-handsome horror history nerd who works at the shop and also happens to be a ghost tour guide.

They already have that lovely *I absolutely cannot stand you* relationship going on, with Ezra constantly winding Rory up and Rory trying her best not to strangle him 😂

Then they end up having to work a tour together, accidentally piss off a matchmaking ghost and get cursed with a rather inconvenient bit of bad luck — which can only be stopped when they’re physically near each other.

Cue forced proximity, bickering, kissing and two people slowly realising that maybe they don’t hate each other quite as much as they thought they did…

So I finished this book AGES ago and kept forgetting to actually review it (thanks, ADHD 😂), but I’ve come to realise that if I read a book and then completely forget every single thing about it, it probably wasn’t quite as good as I remembered it being at the time.

Thankfully, I remembered this one because I absolutely loved it!

It’s nothing epic or life-changing, but I really loved the relationship between Ezra and Rory. Their rivalry starts perfectly — it’s not completely ridiculous or based on some stupid misunderstanding, and it actually felt believable. I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop.

I do think there could have been more done with the entity that had previously latched onto Rory, because I felt like there was a lot more potential there, but overall this was just such a cute and fun read.

Also, can we appreciate the fact that the MMC ISN’T SOME 6 FOOT 7 GIANT?! 😂 Honestly, it was genuinely refreshing to read about a man who is actually a normal human height.

I really enjoyed the paranormal element being mixed into the real world. It didn’t feel like full-on fantasy, but there was enough of it to make the story really fun, and I thought it worked really well.

I’d definitely read this author again, and I’m actually quite tempted to go back and see what else they’ve written.

Entities to Lovers is a solid romance read full of fluff, yearning, and haunts. I really loved the progression of Rory and Ezra’s relationship. However I didn’t feel the “rivals to lovers” vibe much due to not seeing them much or having a grasp on their relationship before they are thrust together. Ezra’s yearning was perfection. That man knows how to yearn, my lord. At times I struggle with pacing in romance novels, however, I felt this pacing was pretty close to perfect and kept the tension the whole time.

This book would be the perfect palate cleanser fall read. Cozy, cute, sexy, and so atmospheric.

AHHHH the anticipation and excitement I had leading up to reading this book! I adore Mallory Marlowe, and Love and Other Conspiracies is one of my all-time fave reads EVER. I can now officially say Entities to Lovers is too!

This book was EVERYTHING a gal wants in a paranormal rom-com. Where do I even begin? The writing is atmospheric, it’s hilariously funny, and I just LOVED getting swept up in the absolute chaos that was Rory and Ezra.

Ezra, my earring-wearing, tattooed HISTORY professor. My gosh. *Pants*. I adored the chemistry between Ezra and Rory, and the banter was just TOP SHELF!

I’m a bit of a history nerd and briefly studied Victorian Spiritualism, so all the little nods to that...and so much more throughout the book made my nerdy heart really bloody happy.

Also, I fell DEEPLY for our side “characters”/entities, Luna and Clementine, and I genuinely lost it at the scene where Clementine plays wingwoman. IYKYK.

Honestly, all of the stars.

And I am SO excited for the crumbs we got for Ready Player Love. MICHA!!!! screaming!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was such a fun, cosy autumn read! I was immediately drawn in by the combination of workplace rivals, forced proximity, ghosts and a curse, it’s definitely not your typical enemies-to-lovers romance!

I really enjoyed Rory and Ezra as a couple. Their banter was probably my favourite part of the book, and I liked watching their initial dislike of each other gradually turn into something more. Rory’s ability to communicate with ghosts and Ezra’s obsession with history also made for an entertaining combination, and I loved the spooky Boston setting. The haunted shop and ghost tours gave the story exactly the right amount of autumn atmosphere.

That said, I did feel that the romance moved a little too quickly for me. I would have liked more time to see Rory and Ezra really get to know each other before their relationship developed, as I think that would have made their chemistry feel even stronger. There were also a few moments where the supernatural elements felt slightly more complicated than they needed to be.

Despite that, this was an easy and entertaining read with plenty of humour, romance and a touch of spooky fun. It’s not a book I think I’ll be thinking about for months afterwards, but it was exactly the kind of light, cosy romance I was in the mood for.

Definitely one to pick up if you’re looking for something fun and slightly spooky for an autumn read.

This one took me a second to get into for a couple of reasons: I'd read another book recently with a similar setting which I didn't love, and the initial couple of chapters were quite heavy with information.

However, what I can say is that the story gets into the action quickly - within the first chapter we meet Aurora (Rory) and Ezra, rival guides that have been double booked for the same tour. So while there was a lot of context dumped at the beginnning, I can see it needing to happen to jump-start the story so quickly.

One part that did confuse me a little were the names. Aurora being referred to as Rory was difficult for me to grasp initially, then add to it that Rory and Ezra have their tour guide characters Kitty and Royce. Though once the story progressed it wasn't too long for me to pick these up.

I felt the author did a great job walking the line between cosy and spooky - like Clementine the doll was really creepy but she had some hilarious moments between the main cast. And while there were more paranormal aspects, they didn't overshadow the romance - Rory and Ezra were centre-stage.

There was initial attraction, which I enjoyed because it made the rival and curse tropes have even more tension. Especially with the magic not letting them be more than around 50ft apart before severe bad luck sets in. They even had to share an apartment which is always fun!

Though I was a little disappointed that Rory was so hot and cold with Ezra, she would often push him away when he wasn't doing anything wrong. It's somewhat understandable based on some other parts of her backstory, but that part felt a little shoe-horned in for me. That being said, I loved Ezra's backstory and his emotional journey - even if it triggered the third-act breakup.

I thought the romantic chemistry and tension between Rory and Ezra was wonderful, especially once Rory began to let Ezra in. Seeing the use of tarot cards, seances, and other medium-related activities was also just really interesting! And I loved how the period-specific outfits of their characters came into play...

One thing I wish the book did more of was tie up some of the other subplots a bit better or give them more of a spotlight. I wanted to know more about Rory's apartment ghost Luna, and the couple's resolution from the TV opportunity. There were some really lovely moments in this story and I wish the author could've expanded on them even more.

This book was utterly charming. It’s set in Boston, in October. Which is pretty perfect for a story about ghosts interfering with people’s lives. I adored the setting in this book. The two main characters both work as tour guides on ghost tours of Boston. The business is run from a shop of curiosities, and there’s some pretty delightful stuff here (Clementine!) The whole set up really did enhance the atmosphere and spookiness of the book.

The female main character not only runs tours but also reads tarot and can speak to ghosts. The male main character is a history professor. They both have a deep love of their subject matter and their performances as their ghostly characters on their tours and this has led to a bit of a rivalry. There’s a fair bit of antagonism between them early on even though they both find each other irritatingly attractive.

The two characters end up cursed and are forced to work together to fix it. This makes them challenge their preconceptions. It makes them take a closer look at their own insecurities and the narratives they’ve been telling themselves. There’s a decent amount of personal growth here.

I loved the details in this book. The historical back story around the thing that gets them cursed, the curiosities in the shop, the ghost that likes to move things, the characters they play in their tours. There was also a really nice supporting and supportive cast. The main character’s mother and the male main character’s brother for example.

Great setting, great details. A charming and delightful supernatural read. Thoroughly enjoyable.
