A genuinely moving read. The vulnerability is what hooked me. Alexander doesn’t sand down the hard parts, and that’s exactly why the hope in the book lands. The moment where the oracle nudges Sage toward AA really stayed with me, because it captures the book’s unusual mix of mystery, desperation, and grace. I’d recommend this to anyone walking the recovery road, and also to those standing alongside them who want to better understand the struggle, the courage, and the possibility of change. Highly recommend.

This is a rich and brutally honest telling of a man’s journey into, and out of, alcoholism. The added sci-fi element makes it all the more gripping and unpredictable. I can also relate to the many insights about the Indian-American experience woven into the story. While I am not quite finished yet, it has been hard to put down and I look forward to my nightly reading! Well done!
