Description
In the town of Caerpadraig, on an island like the Western Isles and a world like the eleventh century, the priest falls ill and dies. With the loss of her man, his widow also loses her home and her role in the community. In this desolate situation, Morag sets out on a quest to learn more about her mysterious mother, whom she has never known. It is really a quest for her own identity, but at first her journey only leads to frustration and despair and she fails to recognise those who point towards the wholeness she seeks.
Meanwhile Aidan, the new priest, reaches Caerpadraig armed with a mission to bring change. As Morag breaks down and breaks through, Aidan faces his own challenges and comes under increasing strain up to the point where, inevitably, their paths intersect.
