Dr. Alexander Korman, a Los Angeles critical care physician turned social media personality, receives an urgent request to meet with his former mentor, Dr. Max Fischer. When Max is killed right before his eyes, Alex becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind his mentor's death.

Max was working on a revolutionary artificial intelligence designed to transform and improve medical care, but when Alex is handed a coded message Max left for him, warning that the "fail-safe" feature built into the AI super-doctor might be compromised, he suspects Max's death was no accident.
