Description

"Bold hockey romance that hits like a slap shot." —New York Times bestselling author Rachel Reid

A picture-perfect All-Star meets a bad boy who plays dirty in this enemies-to-lovers hockey romance for fans of Heated Rivalry.

Leo Cohen never expected to make it to the big leagues. His first strike was being a Jewish guy from California. His second was being an undersized defenseman. And his third? Getting a reputation as a “locker room cancer” on every team he’s ever played for. The Edmonton Skyhawks are probably Leo’s last chance, and he’s got to behave.

Devon Fraser isn’t just a superstar, he’s the young Canadian face of the sport, a homegrown generational defenseman. From a religious family in a small town, his humility hides his championship ambitions. But underneath his carefully controlled facade, Devon’s kind of a mess—so worried about being picture perfect that he’s almost lost himself behind the mask.

When the team claims Leo as a waiver pickup, it’s Devon’s job to keep tabs on the unruly bad boy. Leo doesn’t want an obnoxious babysitter, especially not one who’s the league’s golden child. But as they get to know each other, they discover similarities under the surface. Soon, animosity becomes passion, then friendship, until suddenly, they’re facing something even more dangerous.

With everything to lose, it’s unclear what could be more devastating: losing the season, or losing their hearts.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct is another absolute masterpiece by Ari Baran. I love stories in which two disparate characters come together to develop a romance that feels open, honest, and rewarding. Speaking of love, I love Leo and his rat self so much. Even more I love how Devon and Leo fit together and balance off one another so well. They're messy in the best ways and the way they irritate each other and yet don't is perfectly written and shines on the pages. Some how Edmonton is now on my list of places to visit because as always the city in the Penalty Box series becomes a character in the book as well which I absolutely love. Anyways it's releasing in March 2027 and go ahead and add it to your TBR now so you're ready for it when it releases.

Oh and slight spoiler.... there's a Jammer cameo which is absolutely perfect.
