Description
What if a child could read a story, sing it, and carry its lesson for life?
Sing Me a Fable is an A-to-Z storybook of 26 rhyming fables — one for
every letter of the alphabet — and every single one comes with its own
original song and sing-along karaoke.
From the Angry Boar to the My-Way Zebra, each fable follows one animal
through one very human failing: anger, envy, greed, boasting, giving up
before the carrots have grown. Four short verses, then a gentle moral
small enough for a five-year-old to carry away. Nothing frightening,
nothing preachy — just a little story that ends somewhere warmer than
it began.
Then comes the part children ask for again and again. The same story
comes back as a song, with sing-along karaoke so they can take the
words over themselves. Read it, sing it, live it.
And all the while, without a single moment that feels like a lesson,
children are picking up the words for the feelings themselves — envy,
vanity, impatience, gratitude. Twenty-six big words, learned the easy
way: in rhyme, in song, and fastened to an animal they will not forget.
>> REVIEWERS: hear the songs and try the free companion site
https://singmeafable.com
All 26 songs and their karaoke stream free, no sign-up. In the printed
book they open from a QR code on each fable's title page; from this
digital ARC, go straight to the site. The songs are half the book —
please listen to two or three before you review.
The site is free and runs in a browser, nothing to install:
* Ten learning games built from the book's own text — find-the-letter,
match-the-flaw, finish-the-moral, word search and more, laid out in
the order a child grows into them
* An arcade of playable fables, where each animal's fault is the thing
that makes the game hard
* Colour and Draw — the illustrations as colouring pages, on screen
or printable
* A Kindergarten Play page for teachers: activities for a supervised
room, each with group size, what you need, what it teaches and what
to do if it stalls
