Description

Arianrhod’s firstborn son sought his mother’s affection. The boy displayed a great gift for creation. “But wasn’t he born of the waters and my own body? Yea, it is so, but as uninvited as anyone could be.” His origins could never be revealed. She alone would carry the secret and face the challenges of the unknown.

She raised him dutifully, yet at times he could vex her into tumultuous emotions she had never known. “To preserve the kingdom, he must be denied a name, and when he is grown to manhood, a noble bride will be beyond his reach.”

The obscenity of myth is a feature present in the tale. Without those scenes, there would be no story to tell. If we can approach the aroma with caution, then it can be stripped of some of the odors accumulated through a thousand years of wallowing in the fertile silt. The tale also possesses lightness, a pleasant scent permeated with wildflowers.
