After a life-threatening confrontation with Vadoma, Rosella's older sister, Lily and her fiancé Kai try to move on and resume planning their future as a couple. In this they are aided by friends, family, and the creatures of the forest-as well as a mischievous baby pukwudgie who brings joy and a bit of chaos to their lives.

Unfortunately, the strong magic of baby pukwudgies makes them tempting targets for those with evil intentions. Soon Lily discovers that Rosella has captured one. Though Lily's new home is safe, Rosella harnesses the small creature's powerful magic to inflict pain on pukwudgie and human alike at her latest base of operations. Meanwhile, Vadoma still lurks in the background, creating other dangers.

In The Swan's Secret, Lily and Kai must gather their courage to face Rosella and Vadoma once again and attempt to put an end to the sisters' cruelty for good.
