Description
From Grammy® Award-winning musician and author Charlie Peacock comes a wise, witty, and intricately layered debut novel about unexpected friendships, enduring love, and a family's reckoning with its secrets. Each revelation moves the story toward its defining question: Can love survive the crucible of the whole, unguarded truth?
Praised by Variety for his "absorbing and exquisitely written" prose, Peacock brings to literary fiction an intimate understanding of the nervous system under stress and the managed silences that shape a family. The novel traces how deep love and loyalty can coexist with concealment, violence, and truths too strange to invent.
Moving between the affluent Bay Area, Sacramento, and agrarian Tennessee, the novel follows the Taylor family as they navigate relationships across culture, vocation, and faith. At its center are two generations shaped by trauma and secrets: a mother whose buried past and inflexible religiosity tore the family apart, and her oldest son Augie, whose success is as much a product of his pain as his giftedness. Circling them is a culturally diverse ensemble cast, from a farm-to-table food expert to a jazz-drumming psychedelics scholar.
When Michael, the youngest Taylor sibling, suffers a violent, unprovoked attack, the family rallies around him. But it also causes a buried past to surface.
After an incident with his girlfriend Marie, Augie confronts the return of physical symptoms rooted in an unspeakable secret. Though he loves Marie deeply, he cannot bring himself to reveal what is hidden. Ironically, for Augie, the life everyone mistakes for thriving is perfect for hiding.
A controversial work assignment with millions at stake sends Augie and Marie to Tennessee. His mission: seek counsel from writer and sage J. Tapley Dial at Sugar Creek Farm. There, among new friends, they glimpse a "soil and soul" life and find the wisdom and courage for what lies ahead.
Blending mystery and psychological suspense with an intricately layered family saga, Once Concealed Now Revealed explores a love story under unspeakable pressure, how deeply held beliefs can wound those we love most, and what it costs us when success comes at the expense of people and planet.
Threaded throughout the drama is the quieter power of wisdom, place, presence, hospitality, useful work, and lives at peace in their own skin. The contrast sets the stage for change but offers no guarantee of it. Even if the unspeakables are safely spoken, are some wounded hearts incapable of moving toward reconciliation, healing, and new life? Is anyone or anything just too broken? Is the crucible of truth one more crisis and not a cure?

Our best songwriters open the hidden places and draw us into the light. This is surely true of Charlie. Charlie Peacock
It’s Time To Art Press
Publication: November 17, 2026
CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW
Once Concealed Now Revealed launches both the fiction career of Grammy® Award–winning music producer and author Charlie Peacock and the trade presence of his independent publishing imprint, It’s Time To Art Press.
The campaign combines a trade-facing program for booksellers, librarians, reviewers, and media with a public-facing campaign drawing on Peacock’s established audience while building a new readership for his fiction. It began before publication with a successful Kickstarter and continues through Spring 2027.
AUTHOR PLATFORM
Peacock is a Grammy® Award–winning music producer, recording artist, songwriter, author, and educator with an established audience across music, publishing, faith, arts, and culture. His memoir, Roots & Rhythm: A Life in Music, received a starred review from Library Journal and was named a Library Journal Best Book of 2025 in Performing Arts.
Current platform includes:
• 5,850 Substack followers
• 100k+ monthly Spotify listeners and a four-decade music audience
• Active Instagram, email, podcast, publishing, academic, and music-industry networks
• Relationships with authors, musicians, filmmakers, journalists, podcasters, and cultural commentators
TRADE MARKETING, DISCOVERY & REVIEWS
Trade outreach positions the novel as Literary Fiction / Family Saga / Psychological Suspense while introducing Peacock, previously known to the book trade through nonfiction, as a debut novelist.
Key activity includes:
• National print distribution through Ingram; hardcover and paperback through IngramSpark
• Kindle through Amazon KDP and wide ebook distribution through Draft2Digital
• IngramSpark Bookseller & Librarian Showcase and Title Discovery
• Six-month NetGalley campaign through March 31, 2027
• Edelweiss digital review copies and promotional placement
• Review submissions including Publishers Weekly / BookLife / Foreword and a PW Select listing
• Print and digital review copies for media, booksellers, librarians, authors, podcasters, and reviewers
• Goodreads discovery and Kindle Giveaway
• Direct outreach to booksellers, librarians, reviewers, literary influencers, and book-club leaders
Peacock’s last two books debuted at Parnassus Books in Nashville. Reviews, endorsements, and reader response will be incorporated into ongoing publicity.
FIRST CIRCLE OF READERS
The public campaign is organized around creating the first substantial community of readers specifically for Peacock’s fiction. A successful 30-day Kickstarter invited readers to join the novel’s “first circle of readers” rather than simply preorder a book.
Backers received signed and hand-numbered hardcover collector editions, two original songs inspired by the novel, a participatory choir recording opportunity, and limited music, art, and collector rewards.
This cohort forms the founding group for a larger First Circle campaign extending through Spring 2027, encouraging reviews, recommendations, book-club activity, gifting, social sharing, and word of mouth.
ORIGINAL FILM & MUSIC
A professionally produced five-minute staged dramatization featuring Katie Boeck and Chloé Godard was created as an original campaign asset. Presented as “A Filmed Scene from the Novel,” it is positioned not as a conventional book trailer or adaptation, but as a dramatized encounter with the characters and world of the novel. The film supports social, media, publicity, and long-tail campaign use.
Two original songs inspired by Once Concealed Now Revealed were also recorded as companion works. Music and book will be cross-marketed through studio content, the reader-participation choir project, social/editorial content, and media conversations about songwriting, fiction, character, and narrative. The intent is to introduce Peacock’s music audience to the novel without positioning the book itself as music-related.
DIRECT-TO-READER & NATIONAL PUBLICITY
Peacock’s owned audience—Substack, email, Instagram, website, and professional networks—will support staggered prepublication, publication, and post-publication communication using endorsements, excerpts, reviews, essays, film, music, and behind-the-scenes material.
A national publicist will lead the expanded post-holiday Phase Two campaign through Spring 2027, pursuing literary, cultural, arts, music, faith, regional, and general-interest media.
Story angles include Peacock’s literary-fiction debut after an acclaimed memoir; his transition from a four-decade music career to long-form fiction; family secrets, inherited trauma, reconciliation, and the novel’s “unspeakables”; creativity and vocation across disciplines; reinvention later in life; independent publishing; and Nashville and Northern California connections.
A national podcast tour will extend the campaign across literary fiction, creativity, music, family systems and memory, faith, vocation, aging and reinvention, culture, and independent publishing.
TWO-PHASE CAMPAIGN
Phase One: Prepublication through December 2026
Advance reviews, trade awareness, Kickstarter fulfillment, First Circle development, Goodreads discovery, NetGalley and Edelweiss activity, direct audience activation, publication-week activity, and initial reader word of mouth.
Phase Two: January through Spring 2027
National publicity and podcast campaigns, earned media, continued bookseller/library and book-club outreach, review amplification, music/book cross-marketing, film content, Substack engagement, and long-tail discovery.
OBJECTIVE
For the trade, the campaign is designed to establish It’s Time To Art Press as a professionally presented independent imprint and introduce Peacock as a literary-fiction author supported by national distribution, professional review channels, sustained publicity, and an established platform.
For readers, the goal is to grow the Kickstarter’s founding cohort into a larger First Circle of Readers capable of generating sustained discovery, reviews, recommendations, and word of mouth beyond publication week.
