I swear, every book in the Sin Syndicate series becomes my favorite until I read the next one, and Eyes Never Lie did it again.
This dark mafia romance had everything I wanted—danger, suspense, secret identities, forced proximity, an incredibly protective Irish mafia hero, and a heroine who was so much stronger than anyone gave her credit for.
I especially loved the captivity romance aspect and the way Lachlan and Isabella’s relationship develops while they’re trapped in such a dangerous situation. And the twist? I genuinely did not see it coming. I was shocked in the absolute best way, and it completely changed how I looked at everything that came before it.
I loved Isabella. She’s been controlled and hidden away for most of her life, but she never loses that quiet strength underneath it all. And Lachlan Byrnes? Ruthless, sarcastic, possessive, protective, and completely gone for her. Watching the two of them learn to trust each other while trying to survive what happens in El Salvador was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their chemistry is amazing, but I loved the emotional connection between them just as much.
The romantic suspense, mafia politics, danger, found family, and larger storyline running through the series just keep getting better. These books are interconnected, so seeing characters from the earlier books again makes the whole world feel even bigger.

If you love a mafia dark romance that keeps you on your toes and has alllllll the hot scenes and morally gray goodness, this is the series that you need in your life. While this can be read as a standalone, reading the first two absolutely sets the stage and gives background on the other two Syndicate leaders who do make appearances in this book!
Lachlan and Isabella are my absolute favorite Syndicate couple. They find themselves in each other’s lives and using each other to escape hell. But what they don’t expect is to fall hard so quickly and for all of the twists and turns that ensue.
Honestly, I can’t even give much of a summary of the story itself because you have to read it for yourself!! It’s truly that good. I had moments of “OMG, what?!” and the steamy scenes were certainly steamy.
I loved the unlikely relationship that was formed and the desire each have for each other… Isabella’s life is turned upside down and Lachlan shows her what love is, and gives her what she deserves in life—everything. Did I mention the steaminess?

When she needed a weapon but got an angry mafia Irishman instead—one with absolutely NO filter and who wouldn’t bend for anybody—he was exactly what she needed!
The character development between Lachlan and Isabella was unmatched! A hidden princess who had been locked away for 25 years and an angry Irish mafia man who had been captured? The PERFECT match-up!
The tension was there from the very beginning—from the first orange blossom scent to the blindfold—and I was HERE FOR IT!
I loved this book so much that I just kept wanting MORE and MORE. I needed to find out what this Irishman and princess would become. Isabella wanted choices, and Lachlan gave those choices to her when no one else ever had.
This book took me on an absolute roller coaster of emotions, and that ending?! I was SHOCKED and questioning EVERYTHING!

Lachlan and Isabella's story steal the show in this. They were chef's kiss. And the plot was spot on. This definitely took everything up a notch from the previous stories in this series.
Addictive dark romance that'll have you hanging on by every word until the very end. So many twists and turns with plenty of action and an ending you won't see coming.
