First there is blood

Sealed with a kiss

Greeted by death

We end in fire

Each night Deverell wakes to another fragment of himself lost. As he tries to claw at forgotten memories, fighting his craving for blood is making him weaker by the day.

When Glore appears, she is beautiful, feral, and everything Dev has tried not to be. Offering him the opportunity to join the Grimaud dynasty – a clan of ancient vampires who rule Manchester from their rotting Peak District Manor – Dev can’t possibly refuse her.

But elsewhere, his brother Angelo is waiting. Watching. Biding his time behind the bars of a cell in Strangeways prison. Believing Deverell is the key to a prophecy that will bring the Grimauds to ruin and avenge their slaughtered parents.

This foretelling is one that could either redeem them, or damn them both forever…
