Five shattering secrets, posted weekly by a group calling themselves The Mercuries, have brought the country to the edge of madness. The sixth may tip it over the edge.

It is the morning of Saturday, 19th June. After five weeks of escalating unrest, the entire UK holds its breath, poised on a knife edge awaiting the latest in a sequence of devastating notices, the content of which have undermined the fabric of society and taken the population to the very brink of a collective catastrophe.

Tasked to help the search to track down the individual responsible, ex-Serjeant-At-Arms to the House of Commons, Rachel Jones, is tasked to discover first where these destabilising secrets are coming from and why they are being revealed now. Only then can she have a chance of preventing the final notice being posted and stop the country descending into chaos.

Timely, insightful and utterly compelling, Notice Number Six is Simon Mayo’s brilliant new thriller which, while telling a page-turning, race-against-time narrative, asks some serious questions about the world in which we live and the fine lines we draw between order and anarchy.
