Postal worker Kit Pickens never planned on taking over her eccentric aunt’s psychic business. But desperate times call for fraudulent measures. If only she can predict what will happen next…

“Do you believe in psychics?”

Kit Pickens, a Vermont postal clerk, has dodged this question her entire life. While her eccentric Aunt Joan works weekends as a psychic named Andromeda, Kit’s widowed father has raised Kit not to believe in the unknown. As the family peacemaker, Kit always bridged the gap between her father and her aunt—and has buried the memory of a mysterious, heated exchange she witnessed between them as a kid.

When Aunt Joan passes away unexpectedly, Kit’s peace is shattered. A shocking discovery forces her to consider what role she has played in Andromeda’s success. But when a promising paycheck from a Hollywood legend lures her into her aunt’s world, Kit is forced to face the truth about Andromeda, her family, and herself.

A touching novel about navigating belief when faced with the unbelievable, Watching for Cardinals is a reminder that as humans, we always (never) know.
