Once I started this delightful cozy mystery I could not put it down. Maggie Miller is a smart, strong woman with a fabulous sense of humor. She owns a beignet cafe in the new age town of Table Rock, Arizona. Her next door neighbor Clive, the owner of a bridal shop called The Hitching Post, begs her for a ride to the bakery making a wedding cake for an upcoming client and when they get there, Clive finds the baker's assistant dead and covered with lemon cake and buttercream frosting. When the local police focus in on Clive, Maggie gets involved in the investigation to clear her good friend. This is an entertaining story with enough twists and turns in the plot to keep you guessing and, best of all, a warm and witty lead character you will quickly think of as a friend. I highly recommend this book.
