Great book for anyone travelling to Amsterdam. Lots of tips and useful advice. Hopefully we will get back travelling some day.

This came up just at the right time as I was thinking about booking a break to Amsterdam. The book is a great guide to the city it is full of details but broken down into manageable chunks. It has given me some great ideas of how best to spend my time and I will be using Time Out guides in the future based on this one - here's hoping that by the time we get there the recommendations still work!

As someone who has lived for several years in Amsterdam I certainly didn't expect to discover many new things in this book, but it was still interesting to read up on a few bits and pieces once more. Indeed the book does not hold any insider tips for the city that you couldn't pick up yourself after a day or two of being there, but it is a good introduction for new visitors and I was happy to see that it includes a few spots that are well-known by locals but not yet on the radar of many tourist guides, such as the Westergasfabriek. I also think the special section for various LGBT locations around the city was a good idea. Overall recommended for prospective visitors and curious minds.

A great guide for the city of Amsterdam! It includes some maps, some attractions, some great tips for budget visit and food of the city. What I particularly loved was reading about the history and political heritage of the Netherlands and Amsterdam. That really added to the experience of getting ready to visit the Netherlands.

I'm planning my first trip to Amsterdam soon, and was excited to be approved to review Time Out Amsterdam City Guide. This guide has given me some great ideas that I haven't come across with a brief internet search, or from other tour books I've read (granted most were outdated). The book has a simple, easy-to-read layout, which I really appreciate since I can't hold on to too much information. I was happy to see a section "Where to Spend It" - a shopping cheat sheet. There are day itineraries, 'getting started', and all other information that I (as a planner) need to have on hand for my trip :)
