I mostly downloaded this book so my wife could read it. She read most of it and really enjoyed it. It is surprising and telling that she didn't finish, because she loves home design. This wasn't quite her cup of tea.

She did say that it was interesting and would work very well as a coffee table book. Though the title says, "around the world," it seemed to me that there were far more in NYC than anywhere else. My wife also added that it is a bit text-heavy, instead of picture and design-heavy.

All that said, she gave it a 4/5. She really likes home design. :)

Great coffee table book. Such an interesting concept and snapshot into the lives of people around the world. It's interesting to see how other people in the world live and how different and alike our homes are.

For those of us who love to see how the "rest" of the world lives, here's a chance to peek at other folks' nests. International in scope, relaxed in style, this is a terrific chance to visit other homes without leaving yours.

This was, not what I was expecting, which I suppose is my fault. I was expecting a look into homelife around the world, all incomes and careers covered. Instead, it was a very well-curated view into the homes of artists living around the world. There was a diversity in style which I appreciated, but these were all very well-off homeowners.

Loved this book. Whenever I need a pick me up, I glance at a few pages and instantly feel better. Beautifully photographed, Anita has done a brilliant job. The homes included are livable, social and relatable. One of my favourite books so far this year.

This book by Ms. Beijer is beautiful, and her photography skills lend themselves perfectly to showing how people's homes reflect themselves. The one that stuck out most to me was the apartment of a professional tango dancer. Without being able to say how or why, you could feel the energy and passion of a dancer throughout the space, in the bright colors and the dusty looking floor. She managed to make all her subjects, whether furniture or the people who occupied the chairs and couches, look beautiful and spontaneous. Two thumbs up for both subtlety of work and human focused story telling.

I absolutely loved this book. It's so nice to see people who love their home no matter where they are or what they have. I'm a real homebody and it's really interesting to see other people in their own space.

This collection of home photographs would make a great coffee-table book.

Inside you will find pictures of beautiful and carefully-decorated spaces from around the world. The homes depicted have different styles but the coziness and sense of place well lived-in was a common theme.

I love browsing through inspiring and creative photographs so this was an enjoyable read. I recommend it.

A super coffee table book with a vast array of home interiors from around the world. The owner of each of the fourteen homes explains what 'home' means to them. I enjoyed reading about each of the home owners and there a so many ideas to be found from the photographs if you are looking inspiration for your own home. I would have liked to have seen examples of European homes included too... but maybe that's for the next book!

What a beautiful book. Each home is shown with gorgeous illustrations and lovely stories that hel the reader get a better idea of the story behind each idea for decorating the space sacred to all of us; our own homes. I’ve never given too much thought to my own personal style, but I truly enjoyed seeing the details of others homes.

A quick, pleasant read/browse through some very desirable homes. I love to look at real people’s homes, and these were certainly more varied and interesting than the ones in magazines. However, they were too minimalist for my taste, and not much of the style was achievable or useful for my 1910s Glasgow flat. Still, if you like minimalist/rustic style and live in a hot county, this might be interesting.

Thank you to Net Galley for an ARC of this title in return for my honest review.

I enjoyed this coffee table book that gives glimpses into several people’s homes in countries such as South Africa, Mexico, Hong Kong and US. I Enjoyed reading what makes home for others and not surprisingly it was having a place that was cozy, a haven, a place to celebrate life with the people and animals that matter most to them. It is a book that reinforces the value of life and how important it is to create a space that you can be completely you in,

This book is simply gorgeous.

The author lets us into the intimate spaces and minds of various creative people around the world. And as we get to know their homes, we get to know them.

Each photo essay is inspirational, giving the reader ideas about their own spaces and their own lives.

The book takes you on a design journey and leaves you excited to craft your own design story.

This was a wonderful book that told the stories of many people in many different countries. It followed mostly creative people and show us their home life, around the world, from Asia to North and South America. There is beautiful inspiration for your own home decor, but mostly it's wonderful to open your eyes to how people live around the world and why they've made the choices they have. It was mostly all the same kind of mostly well-off creative arts sector people, which bothered me a bit as it seemed a bit one-trick pony, but as it seemed the main goal of the book I took it in stride and enjoyed the book.
