This book wasn't as funny as I was hoping it to be. I felt that the "blurbs" explaining the jokes were helpful, but I don't feel like I necessarily learned anything. I have heard many of these jokes before, so I wasn't that surprised by many of the punchlines. Unfortunately, this book was okay but, unfortunately, forgettable.

This clever joke book will have your smarter friends in stitches and will make you feel superior to the rest. Each joke is explained (just in case you don't know why it should be funny). A delightful little book that might just teach you a thing or two

Not so much genius, but the cleanest variant on the adult joke book you could get. This covers quips with more erudite subjects – schools of philosophy, religions, subatomic particles and suchlike. It's also very unfunny, in that I found only three amusing, where the subject was Pavlov, and where successful variants on the 'Doctor, Doctor' and the chicken crossing the road, were to be had. So it's not a great laugh-a-long, but it actually proves to be a reasonable attempt at a trivia book, too, which might sway you – you get the relevant physics, or notes for comprehension – whatever in fact you do need to have understood why some bigwigs thought the joke worth inventing. All in all, I missed the humour I expected, but still didn't get close to dumping this, for it was quite edifying, in a smart toilet book kind of way.
