I have a real love for Mother Teresa, I even have a painting of her in our family room and it helps me manage parenting with greater calm... anyway - this book was wonderful for me to introduce her to my children in a very accessible way. We had talked about who the woman on the wall was, but this book described her life and work much better than I ever could.

This series about inspirational women, aimed at four to seven year olds is an absolute delight. This volume is about Mother Teresa, chronicling her life from a loving, devout child names Agnes to that of a missionary nun in Calcutta who posthumously came to be known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta. It is beautifully told and illustrated and its message is the wonderfully heartwarming ‘it doesn’t matter if you do big or small things in your life, as long as you do them with great love’. A lovely book for younger children to teach them about charity, goodness and caring for others.

Another book in the “Little People Big Dreams” series.
I wonder if most people ever thought of Mother Teresa as anything but a religious and social figure. Who was she before that? This little book for little kids provides some answers.
For one, she was from Macedonia, though I don’t know if back then it was one independent country or part of Greece and others. When a new priest came to town, who’d worked in India, it inspired her to become a nun and help people. First she went to a convent in Ireland, then off to India; wonder how different things would be had she stayed on the Emerald Isle.
There’s one illustration that features many of the clichés of India, like the snake charmer, with her in the middle, dressed as a nun and smiling.
As you can imagine, this is mostly about her helping the poor.
Like all of these books, there’s a timeline that repeats the text but is accompanied by photos instead of artwork. This time, for whatever reason, I enjoyed the photos here more than in other books.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

Another great mini biography from the "Little People, Big Dreams" series.

Growing up as a kid I heard a lot about Mother Teresa and her legacy yet I didn't know much about her life. This tiny book, by all means, is not sufficient to list everything Mother Teresa did as a philanthropist but it is condense enough to show what a great humanitarian she was. It's never too early to educate young children about love and giving. Mother Teresa's legacy should not be forgotten for she was one of the most influential figures in the recent history.

The book is adorned with beautiful illustrations. Short and simple text that helps to retain children's attention. "Mother Teresa" makes a wonderful addition to the "Little People, Big Dreams" series. A must read!

I have enjoyed every book in this series, and I love seeing all of the amazing, positive female role models being profiled, but I saved my favorite for last. I have always found inspiration from Mother Teresa, who dedicated her life to helping the poor in India. If there were anyone famous I would ever strive to be like, it would be here. Once again, this is a great introduction of a female role model to kids with gorgeous illustrations to match. I think this book belongs on every kid's bookshelf!

This Little People, Big World series is outstanding! I am simply in love with them all! This is my 7-8th book that I've reviewed from the series on NetGalley, and they have all been 5 star reviews for me. The books are short, sweet, and beautifully illustrated. They are colorful, and exciting and they make learning fun for young children. I hope I can find the whole collection for my nieces and nephews.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

The illustrations on this book are precious. I read this one even though I am not a fan of the Mother Theresa myth, but I admit it would be great for people who admire her legacy.

Mother Teresa was a courageous woman. She set out to become a nun and then she she set out to help the poor people who needed help most. This Little People book shows her astonishing life in wonderful pictures and short paragraphs.

A lovely little picture book biography. This little book contains a lot of information about Mother Teresa in such a small amount of pages. The only thing that might be confusing to a young child is the fact that her name keeps changing (from Agnes to Sister Teresa to Mother Teresa) without explanation. A good basic life story and it includes actual photos of Mother Teresa and some more information about her at the end of the book. Recommended for early elementary students.

An inspiring tale recommended for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. I know there is some controversy about Mother Teresa's legacy (and honestly, I'm not very familiar with it) but this book serves as an easy to read reminder that it is important to care for others.

This is a perfect intro to Mother Theresa. I wasn't aware that this book is part of the "Little People, Big Dreams" series, but I will definitely be looking for other books in the series to complete my set.

This series is a must-have. In the "Little People, BIG DREAMS" series the newest book is all about Mother Theresa. Kids will discover her incredible humble life as she stoops down to serve and to reach out to the poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India.

She is born with the name Agnes in Skopje, Macedonia. As a young child she knows in her heart that she is called by God to dedicate herself to care for the poor, the sick and the forgotten all around the world. Mother Theresa becomes a nun, teaches children in India and is a catalyst to open up hospitals and orphanages to help the oppressed and suffering all around her.

This selfless, giant-hearted woman gives her whole life to care for those less fortunate than her, those that have no money or voice to survive on their own. She is recognized worldwide for her dedication, compassion and deep love for those that suffer alone.

"She received all the awards that could be given to a single person."

"In 1979 she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her humanitarian work. She died in September 1997 and was beatified in October 2003. In December 2015, Pope Francis recognized a second miracle attributed to Mother Teresa, clearing the way for her to be canonized on September 4, 2016."

This educational book is inspiring to both the young and old. The illustrations are very kid-friendly and bring her biography to life. The colour pallet is bold and vibrant. Mother Theresa is a positive role model, an unyielding force for good. This wonderful book sends a powerful message, through her, that ordinary people can impact and change their world for the better. I highly, highly recommend this book and the whole series.

I reviewed this book for Lincoln Children’s Books. It’s part of the Little People, Big Dreams series and tells about the life of Mother Teresa. It's not overly religious and would be great for any child.

'Little People, Big Dreams: Mother Teresa' by Isabel Sanchez Vegara with art by Natascha Rosenberg tells the life of Mother Teresa in a picture book format.

Little Agnes was born in Macedonia. She was taught to love God and others from a young age. This turned in to a compassion for the poor. She became Mother Teresa and became famous all over the world.

The art was cute and colorful. I like the way the story is told. I like this series because it tells a number of stories and presents a number of different creative ways to live a life and make a difference.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group-Frances Lincoln Childrens, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

When your name is basically synonymous with "the highest expression of Christianity and humanity," you know you are living right. That is more true for Mother Teresa than for practically anyone else. Isabel Sanchez Vegara distills Mother Teresa's life into a picture book for the "Little People, Big Dreams" series in Mother Teresa. Accompanied by Natascha Rosenberg's cute illustrations, Vegara tells the heart of Mother Teresa's story.

From her childhood in Macedonia to her decision to become a nun as a teenager, from teaching children to India to helping sick people on the street, from opening hospitals and orphanages around the world to being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Mother Teresa never wavered from her desire to serve the poor.

Mother Teresa captures the love and humility and joy with which she served. As Vegara points out, "She received all the awards that could be given to a single person." Her lesson for all of us is to love others, always. What a great example she set. And what a charming book to introduce young children to this model we can all emulate.

I was lucky to get an e-arc of this title from netgalley.com.
I have heard about this series, and I have been eager to read it. A Danish book blogger recommended them a while ago, and they have been in the back of my head.
Now that I have read this one, I understand the recommendation.
This book is written in a language that is easy to read and understand. You get the story of Mother Teresa in the easy language without feeling like the author is dumbing it down.
And the illustrations are beautiful! Children and adults alike can easily enjoy them.
I highly recommend this book, and I can’t wait to read more from this series!

I love this series. As I said in my review of the Anne Frank book in this series, I think books like these are extremely valuable. I absolutely loved the illustrations in the Mother Teresa book because they were bright and colorful. I also loved that the book ended with a powerful lesson about helping people.

I love this series. It is so great at introducing historic figures into children’s lives (and let’s face it, adult’s lives too). Of course I knew of Mother Teresa but I didn’t know much outside of her good works. This book enlightened me with both the illustrations and the text (simple enough for children, informative enough for everyone to learn something).
