Mother Teresa was an incredible woman! I learned a lot about her childhood and how she became a nun through this book . What a beautiful story about how a small woman allowed God to use her in big ways.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Isabel Sanchez Vegara did a good job writing this book on Mother Teresa. This was a wonderful read for my little girls and it was definitely age appropriate.

Oh how I adore the Little People, Big Dreams series and this newest book on MOTHER TERESA emphasizes exactly why. The story perfectly describes the inspiration of this beloved saint and the illustrations add charm and warmth. Highly recommended!

Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Childrens and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are fully mine.

Such a sweet, inspiring little book (also I never knew Mother Theresa was born in Albania!). I love this series and will be getting this one.

Mother Teresa is a well-known figure in the world, however, many do not know where she got her start.

In this book, kids will get a short look at the life of Mother Teresa, and how she got her start in the world, becoming one of the most well-known nuns in the modern age.

Great for beginning readers and those who are wanting a jumping off point for learning more about Mother Teresa.

This a powerful and moving picture book for children that tells the story of a woman who's story still resonates with us today. It is filled with wonderful brightly coloured illustrations. This is part of a series of book which I would recommend for all children so they can see that there have been some amazing women in history who aren't also talked about.

As always, this series of Little People, Big Dreams has chosen a very good woman to profile, Mother Teresa.

Simple narrative, good introduction. Easy to follow storyline. Bright pictures.

This is a highly appealing entry in a highly appealing series. The illustrations are so engaging and adorable. The book is about Agnes. who grew up in Macedonia and, when young, learned about missionary work in India. The work spoke to her, leading Agnes to travel to Ireland where she became a nun. Agnes soon moved to India where she dedicated her life to educating children and taking care of the poor. Agnes, who grew up to be Mother Teresa, led a truly exceptional life. Let your little one be inspired by this amazing, modest and saintly woman. This charmingly told read aloud for children includes photos and additional biographical information along with a short reading list.

This is from an advance review copy for which I thank the publisher.

Illustrated in color but very simplistically by Natascha Rosenberg, this book tells the breathless story of Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu who was canonized in 2016 as Mother Teresa for at best, dubious miracles and her work among the suffering in Kolkata (aka Calcutta) in India.

I have to take issue with this book because Mother Teresa had far to many questionable practices to be worshipped as a saint, and this book mentions none of them. Wikipedia has a pretty decent coverage of this topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa. Information can also be found from other sources.

The problem with this book is that it swallows the hype far too easily and does nothing to mediate it. I cannot commend a book about a woman who actually said, "I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot...I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people." while taking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts.

I'm so happy that Little People Big Dreams have included Mother Teresa in their series of influential women, who changed the world.

She was an inspirational figure whilst growing up, in a gentle way. Her life and work still create awe and I'm so happy that children can still draw inspiration from her teachings. The take away message in this book and indeed in her life was that no act is small when done with great love.

Loved the book and look forward to the upcoming books in the series.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a NetGalley link for this title.

A delightful book. I've heard so much about this series, but never read one of the books before. The information is presented in a concise manner with adorable illustrations to go along. There were a couple of things which even I didn't remember about Mother Teresa. A great way to introduce young readers to principal figures from history. This series should be in every library or classroom where there are young kids! Loved the inclusion of actual photographs with a brief summary at the end.

Mother Teresa is part of the amazing Little People Big Dreams series which introduces important people of history to young readers.

Before this book I was oblivious to what Mother Teresa had done when she was alive, all I knew was that she is a Saint.

Through reading this book the reader can learn about how Mother Teresa opened hospitals and orphanages when she went to Calcutta and started in a convent in Ireland.

I would recommend this book for parents or teachers who have young children who are interest in learning about people who changed the world.

Interesting and inspiring book about one of the world’s most recent saints commonly called Mother Teresa. A fascinating introduction to her life and times and good works is perfect for engaging the minds of our younger students K-3rd grade but will also appeal to older audiences. Even I learned something new about her life by reading it.

A saintly addition to the series. Details Mother Teresa’s childhood and inspiration to enter into a life of religious service. Perfect for anyone’s library.

This series is always a joy to read, it’s a really nice introduction to well known women for little children. Of course the plot is always a little bit fast but that’s to be expected and it’s totally understandable.
I know Mother Teresa's story and I think it was summed up pretty well in this lovely little book. The illustrations were just gorgeous.
