I have to be honest: I'm completely new to looms and weaving. But this book offers a lot of inspiration and fun little projects. Every project in this book is special and interesting on its own way. It's full of inspiration and I'm starting to gather materials to try at least three of them. The rest will come soon, I'm sure!

I loved this book, it is full of cute illustrations and step-by-step instructions. That makes this book perfect for the beginner artist, or even a practiced artist looking for some inspiration. It also makes for a perfect classroom supplement, as children love creating, especially with found objects and cast away scraps.

This is an adorable craft book with instructions and gorgeous photographs detailing how to make the looms and create 25 projects.
Weaving is something that anyone can try without having to learn how to knit or crochet.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is full of information for making your own weaving looks from items you have at home, such as cardboard, and weaving a variety of projects from those looms. There were many photographs to help along the process as well as to show many project ideas for your woven creations.

Finally got around to reading this book and then got mad at myself for waiting. It's amazing what you can do with little things you find around the house. Looking forward to trying some.

This is a charming book about creating miniature tapestries, buttons, jewelry, pouches, coasters and much, much more from miniature looms. The looms include those made from tiny cardboard boxes, round pieces of heavy cardboard, and rolled up paper, to name a few. None of the projects depicted in the book appear difficult and they may be perfect for a class or scout project or a rainy afternoon project at home.

I have been a miniature lover most of my life, and I collect vintage and antique dollhouses and furnishings. The miniature tapestries and mats are ideal for these dollhouses or shadowboxes. It is easy to imagine the tiny works of art becoming treasured heirlooms passed down from one generation to the next. I loved this book and it will certainly be on my list of presents for friends and family!

(In return for an honest review, I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.)

Thank you World Book Media and Netgalley for an ARC on this book.

This is a lovely book, perfect for those who enjoy crafts and especially those with a Japanese flavour, the little looks can be made out of small boxes so it is a craft assessable to everyone, not relying on expensive tools to set up.

The book was full of beautiful photographs of completed designs. These designs are simple yet stunningly beautiful, a lovely craft to begin, especially in the colder months.

Beautiful book. As I was reading it I was thinking about all the little leftover yarn I have from all my knitting projects and how I could use them.
My favorite projects were the Cover buttons, card case, party garlands and the color block tote and clutch.

Lovely book introducing weaving and, especially, making looms for weaving using paper, cardboard, wood.

A bit of caution should be applied if you want to make these looms and projects with younger kids, due to sharp/pointy parts.

The projects result in bracelets, coasters, purses and other cute small objects.

What a wonderful discovery! This book is delightful, with super cute projects, but the looms themselves are the stars of this show! I want to craft each one - and they look so accessible, even to beginning crafters, but also fun for more experienced makers.

I reviewed the digital version of this book, and appreciate how well it's put together. Some craft ebooks leave a bit to be desired in the formatting, but this e-book did not disappoint.

If you are one of those people who are reluctant to throw away even the shortest little threads left over from whatever hobby you do, you will absolutely love this book. Many of the projects involve using "bits" of thread or yarn. Now you know what you can do with all those pieces of yarn in that box over there!

I never imagined that you could make such tiny looms from material that you might already have in the house or that you can easily buy from a dollar store. I come from a part of the world where looms fill the whole room!

Adorable projects. Can't wait to make a loom or two and create some useful weaved items!

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Small is easily overlooked. Crafts are sometimes trite. But there's real satisfaction in creating something personal and little.

Enjoy this how-to, from making your own loom to choosing your yarns, strings and other materials, to a pretty finished creation.

Recommended for those with limited time and resource - you'll have made something interesting and fun when you're done.

Are you a fiber crafter looking for an easy, portable craft that uses things easily found around your home? This book of little looms will provide just what you're looking for. Don't let the idea of "little" looms fool you. The projects may be small in scale, but they can be complicated.

The first sections are galleries of projects made with the looms. From simple sample pins to button covers to natural weaving with found objects to weaving with wire for jewelry, there are a wide variety of projects to inspire you. All of these projects, looms and supplies can be tucked into a pouch (or in the case of the box looms into the loom itself) and carried with you to pulled out at anytime. The pictures in this section are very clear and the settings show off the weavings advantageously.

After the galleries are sections on the creation of the little looms and the weaving instructions. The diagrams, photographs and instructions are clear and concise. Even people new to weaving should be able t ogetstarted and finish any of the projects.

Definitely a book worth looking at!

Kageyama, Harumi. Weaving with Little Handmade Looms: Make Your Own Mini Looms and Weave 25 Exquisite Projects. World Book Media, Zakka Workshop; Salem, MA. 11 Apr 2019
Weaving, Arts & Crafts, Crafts & Hobbies, Nonfiction (Adult)

The book is an exceptional work of instruction and beauty. The instructions bring the art of weaving to everyone and provide a level of accessibility that fits most budgets. Using found resources, handmade, or everyday objects as looms, the projects described in the book are small and create useful objects. The demonstrated projects use a variety of materials including yarns, ribbons, leather, wire, fabric, and natural fibers. The presentation of the projects encourages readers to experiment and try new materials. The language of weaving is presented clearly and most readers will pick it up quickly. The size of the projects encourage discovery of weaving, because new learners have a smaller investment of time and money. As a translation from the Japanese original, the book includes perfect instructions in a friendly, easy to use text. The images, examples of weaving, and collections of materials give the book a sense of the author being with you as you peruse the projects. The diagrams and tool descriptions are valuable and easy to follow. Weaving with Little Handmade Looms is recommended for crafters & weavers everywhere. The book is an excellent addition to all public libraries, libraries serving maker populations, and libraries that support creativity.

This book brings us small-size handmade that we can all do. What I liked the most was the fact of giving tips to do manual work anywhere, and also all the explanations are very well done.
Yet only two or three handmade I found interesting, but this is also a personal taste.

This book is joyful and fun. Some of the pictures don't give a good sense of scale, but the images are crisp and colorful. Instructions for creating a variety of looms at home are included and easy to understand as are the project directions.

This is a great craft book. The instructions were easy to follow and the pictures were great. I have never weaved before, but I think even a beginner like me will be able to after reading this book.

I love crafting. I love making things. I love being creative. I am always willing to try something new in crafts. Weaving is something new to me. When I was a kid I had one of the looms with the stretchy bands that you make pot holders out of but that was years ago. Although it is kind of the same thing it is totally different as well. This book shows 25 projects with homemade looms. There are step by step illustrations and written instructions. A lot of these projects are easy enough to let the kids help. You will need to supervise though as a on some of the looms the pegs are very sharp. You can make some really cute things with this book from bracelets to draw string bags. A lot of the items for the looms will probably already be in your craft room. These for the most part are all pretty easy to accomplish. I personally love how pretty the button covers are.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.
