There was a mystery at the beginning and it caught my attention.

I like how Imogen thinks and stick to her instinct. Adrian has a lot on his mind and him being dragged with the case made it more interesting.

The way the victims were killed were gruesome especially the professors. Wow! What a brilliant and imaginative mind you have, Miss Katerina.

I didn't expect the suspects plus the backbone of the story. It was carefully planned and thought about.

I cannot wait for the next on this series. Hopefully, more honesty with Adrian and Imogen because of their relationship.

Thank you for the ARC, Avon UK, and Netgalley!

Katerina Diamond did it again. The suspense of this book kept me turning the pages. I loved the fact that someone from the past came back that had both DS Miles and DS Grey questioning their morals. Can’t wait to read the next and find out what suspense is waiting for me plus where DS Grey’s and Miles relationship goes.

Sick Twisted and Absolutely Brilliant

Every time I read the next book in this series I think to myself how does Katerina Diamond do it, these books just keep getting better and better. Fat coward to the end of Truth or Die and I am literally sitting here with my mouth opening wondering how to give this review more than five stars!

The plot alone was amazing but then the twists and turns that she peppered throughout the entire book are just brilliant!

The story line definitely has some crazy sick moments which I absolutely loved and as always the personal life of both DI Grey and Miles makes you love them both even more!

I can not recommend this series enough to anyone who loves a great detective murder series....
Katerina Diamond’s Imogen Grey Series... read it... you will be happy you did!

I do like to delve into odd gritty crime busting book. But when I saw the sticker on the front cover saying not for the faint hearted I may have gulped a little bit. So it was quite delicately that I picked up Truth or Die.

The story starts with the death of a student. And this is only the beginning of the death toll. Soon the murders are piling up and Imogen and Adrian are called in to investigate a possible serial killer.

On top of that both are have to deal with their own personal demons. Adrian has been implemented in a crime that could have a devastating effect. Yet both must deal with their personal lives and this case.

When I first started reading I did not realise that this was part of a series. But then past events started to be referred to. And while it didn’t stop my understanding or enjoyment of the story, it did on occasion meant I was thrown off my reading stride.

This was a gritty twisty book that was more gory that I could possibly imagine. So if you like things are the gory side this is perfect for you.

I can’t believe this is the first DS Grey and DS Miles book I have read! Having said that, it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story at all. It’s made me want to go back and read the others however.
The story starts with a boy who falls from the local cathedral while carrying out what seems a dare, but we don’t find out the relevance until the end.
Following the suspicious death of a Doctor at the local uni, Miles and Grey are tasked with finding the killer. Further information comes to light and Adrian is accused of the most terrible assault - could he have done this?
The body count rises and old secrets come to the fore, can Imogen and Adrian avoid certain dismissal?
This was a brilliant story and I cant wait for the next instalment.

An easy read from Katerina Diamond, I do enjoy her books and the way she has developed her characters.
Well written and I couldn't put it down, I'm looking forward to the next book

Katerina Diamond has again succeeded in writing a page turner. Seemingly unafraid to write about difficult and emotive subjects. I recommend Truth or Die without reservation along with all previous books in the series.

This was a great thriller. Detectives Adrian and Imogen will find themselves in a twisted game. How many they are in it? I found nice characters and a good plot.
Thank you Netgalley for this nice book.

DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles are back with a tense, twisted and terrifying new case that will raise every single hair on the back of your neck and have you chewing your nails to the elbow: Truth or Die.

Something strange is happening at Exeter University. The local police are being run ragged by students who seem intent on getting into all sorts of trouble and mischief: from breaking into chapels to climbing up Exeter Cathedral and filming themselves for social media. It seems like the local police have got a workload that is even heavier than usual. However, things take a decidedly deadly twist when the body of one of the Philosophy lecturers is found butchered in his office. As Grey and Miles begin their investigation into who could have possibly committed such a heinous and sadistic crime, they know that the task ahead of them is going to be anything but easy – especially as the recently deceased Doctor Norris seems to have been a man who was loved, respected and admired by every single person at the university.

As their investigation intensifies, Grey and Miles seem to be coming up against one dead end after another. While faculty members confirm that Norris was a man who kept himself to himself, the students all seem too shocked to even contemplate the fact that the professor could have had enemies at the university. Who would want to target an innocent man? Why would he be killed in such a vicious manner? Who stands to gain from his death? And was there more to the late Professor than meets the eye? Grey and Miles are convinced that there is more to this case than they initially thought and although thus far they’ve not come up with any leads, they will certainly not be deterred from finding out who murdered Norris and why.

As the body count rises, Grey and Miles realise that time is certainly not on their side. They need to look into the past to uncover the person responsible…before it’s too late!

Katerina Diamond certainly knows how to keep her readers on a knife’s edge and she is on top form with her latest novel, Truth or Die. Gritty, compelling and so compulsively readable that you will not be able to think about anything else while reading this book, Truth or Die is a phenomenal crime novel written by an absolute master of the genre who never fails to write chilling, sinister and captivating thrillers that are absolutely impossible to put down.

Grey and Miles are as fantastic as ever. Despite their complicated personal lives and their tempestuous relationship, they are absolutely brilliant at their jobs as they are methodical and meticulous when it comes to solving crimes and ensuring that justice is served.

A fantastic page-turner from one of the genre’s finest, Truth or Die is another must-read chiller by the always outstanding Katerina Diamond.

First thing I noticed when I started this book, was that it's apparently a fifth book in a series. While I was reading the book, I didn't get the idea that I was missing any information from not reading the first four books. Therefore I would say that it's not necessary to read the other four books first, as this book felt right as a stand-alone as well. Throughout the book I still got to learn a lot about the main characters and didn't feel left out. \

The book follows DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles in their path to solve a string of murders. Their personal struggles and relationship gives the story an extra layer, connection to the characters as well as emerging into the plot. Although I'm not sure I appreciate the descriptive love scenes in this book. To me it doesn't add anything to the growth of the characters and it's like those scenes don't fit it with the rest of the book.

The whole murder story itself is thrilling. The description of the murders gave me shivers and the chasing of the killer is suspenseful. A serial killer who has apparently been introduced in a previous book, Parker, is brought back again. I don't know the story about Parker and Adrian, though the author explains some things which makes it clear that these two have had a confrontation before.

Overall this is a good book to read within the series, as well as a stand-alone. While reading, I noticed some loose ends that will be clarified when reading all the books in the series. Though they didn't affect the outcome of the story itself.

Katerina Diamond has done it again! Another fantastic instalment of Grey and Miles. I absolutely love these two and think they are fantastic characters and very well written. This is definitely one of my favourite series. The storyline in this one was gripping and had an unbelievable amount of suspense. I read the last 50% of this in one sitting, and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I always get a bit nervous when another book comes out for a series I love, as I’m worried I’ll be disappointed and that it will ruin the rest of the books for me. However I definitely don’t need to worry about that with this series! I loved reading about Grey and Miles again. This one is a real page turner and impossible to put down!

This was a very intriguing story to read and had me hooked from the start. The book is set in Exeter which is a lovely part of the country. This is very descriptive writing and goes into great detail, especially of the cathedral.

Toby has set up his camera on the ground so it can capture his ascent up the lovely Exeter Cathedral. Also, he starts the GoPro that is strapped to his head as he runs towards the front of the building. Some people could be watching the live feed but the police might get wind of this adventure and turn up at any minute. He managed to find some nooks and niches to grab hold of, on his climb and pulled himself up and this would be his biggest achievement so far. He managed to get to the small balcony with no problem, climbed the final window, got his hand round the final spike and then spun round to look out over the city. What a brilliant view. It was as he crossed the central beam towards the North Tower, that his leg started to cramp. As he tried to go faster, the pain deepened. The spasming then started, the top was closer so he made for that. As he reached for the ledge, he didn’t know what happened but he was falling. He hit the ground, his head cracking against the pavement, his phone wasn’t even capturing his dying moment.

DS Walsh and DS Grey were called to the Exeter University as the Professor of Philosophy had been murdered and discovered in his office. It appeared he had got his head bashed in with a large glass paperweight. The techs are in there just taking photos and logging evidence. There was sign of a struggle, with books and papers thrown across the floor. Blood was splattered all up the walls, across the desk, everywhere, and the resin ball lay on the ground near the body. A blue flower was trapped inside, striking against the red of the blood. Someone must have been very angry to commit this level of violence, there was something crazed about it.

I totally enjoyed this book, so much so, that I am going to read the rest of the books by this author. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat whilst reading as it was so gripping and hard to work out who was behind it all, so cleverly written. 5 out of 5 stars from me.

I really need stop jumping into series without reading previous books. Although this can be read as a standalone I do enjoy reading a series in order.

DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles are called to a university where a professor has been murdered.

Is his death connected with previous murders?

This is a brilliantly written gruesome story. I highly recommend this story.

I’ll definitely be reading more from this author in the future and as I really liked DS Imogen Grey I’ll be wanting to read more about her.

I’ve loved Katerina’s first book in this series and have been hooked ever since!
The characters are captivating and the storylines addictive. I would treat yourself to the whole series but be warned that you won’t get anything else done once you start reading them! Highly recommended five stars!

This is the fifth book in the series featuring DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles. They are called out to investigate the horrific murder of a university professor. He seems an innocent victim so they start questioning his students but to no avail. More bodies turn up but seemingly have no connection. The question being were some suicides or not and Imogen and Adrian discover that a dangerous and deadly game is being played which will take a lot of solving. The relationship between Imogen and Adrian starts to develop in this book and I am intrigued as to where it will lead. A highly recommended series.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I was drawn to this book by the Exeter setting and the fact that I enjoyed an earlier book by Katerina Diamond, called 'The Teacher '.

This is a story with a dark and devious plot. It flows beautifully, with plenty of twists and turns as the story unravels.

The characters are very well crafted and this helps the novel to flow. Students killing teachers or teachers killing students, that is the question?

I must take care not to spoil the story, suffice to say that the two detectives are put through their paces before they track down the right person.

This is a real literary jigsaw and is well worth reading. I will certainly look out for future books by Katerina Diamond.

I give my thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for a copy in exchange for this review.

‏I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

Truth or Die is the 5th book in the D.S. Imogen Grey series by Katerina Diamond. I did not realize it was part of a series until I was finished reading it. Reading the earlier books may help with understanding the characters and their behavior better, but it is not necessary. This book can stand alone.

DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles are partners who are very close in work and out. There is an attraction between them which is a storyline throughout the book and, according to reviewers on Goodreads, has been a slow-building theme woven throughout the entire series. However, the main storyline is the case they are investigating, the brutal murder of a college professor.

The cover has a warning indicating this is not for the faint-hearted. This is a fast-paced police procedural novel that is also a violent, dark, and graphic read. These scenes are not part of the book for mere shock value. They enhance the story and our understanding of the killer's thoughts and actions.

A 6th book is not listed on Goodreads, but I will be looking for it. In the meantime, I do plan to read the series from the beginning.

This 200-word review was published on Philomathinphila.com on 7/31/19.

DS Imogen and DS Adrian Miles are back and this book did not disappoint.

This book is part of a series and I really recommend reading them in order before reading this book to really understand the characters and backstory.

It was a super quick read because it had me gripped. It is fast paced and varies from Adrians and Imogen's view point which kept it interesting. It is pretty gory at times but I think that fans of Tess Gerittsen will enjoy these books.

Thank you to netgalley for providing me with an ARC.

Katerina Diamond is fast becoming one of my favourite current authors who I regularly recommend to anyone looking for fast-paced, action-packed psych-thrillers with strong lead characters.which we certainly have here with Imogen & Adrian.

I know some people like to jump into the middle of a series - and sometimes that doesn't matter - but I would strongly recommend reading the whole series from the beginning.

Now the wait begins for the next installment!

Thanks to Avon Books UK for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review

I truly enjoyed this book! It is the first I have read by this author but will not be my last. I was unaware that this was a series about the two police officers in the book. If you have not read her books before, you can still read and enjoy this one though. As the officers try to solve a series of brutal, and I do mean brutal, murders, they are also trying to navigate a confusing friendship/relationship they have going on. Definitely had some twists and surprises that kept you wanting more. I want to go back read the beginning of the series now! Great book!
