I enjoyed catching up with the characters from PS I Love You and enjoyed the storyline of Postscript.

Oh wow make sure you have a box of tissues near by when you read this book. I read P.S I Love You a few years back. When I saw that Cecelia Ahern had written a sequel, I was intrigued. Would the sequel match up to the orginal? Or would it be a case of like many sequels, its lacking something from the orginal. In my opinion Cecelia Ahern wrote an emotional sequel that kept the reader glued to the story. Postscipt finds Holly seven years on from the loss of Gerry. She is in a new relationship with Gabriel. Working in her sisters shop. Ciara her sister persuades Holly to speak on a podcast about grief. Holly reluctantly agrees, talking about the letters Gerry left her after he died. Her words inspire a woman called Angela who desperately tries to get Holly to join her P.S I Love You club. Holly doesn't want anything to do with her or the club. She doesn't want to relive a dark time in her life.
When members of the group keep turning up in Holly's world she has to make a decision. Will she walk away or help the dying members? This book will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
You might even see things differently afterwards. Highly recommended read, pick up a copy.

When I first saw there was a sequel to P.S. I Love You, I was unsure about how much this was needed. The first book seemed so final and Holly’s story told. But from the very beginning it felt like checking in with an old friend. Ahern shows a realistic portrayal of grief and how although time is a healer, grief can pop up again years later. The book isn’t all sadness though, it’s also uplifting and about the power of hope and love. It’s definitely one to read for fans of the original.

A tempting teaser that seems perfectly placed as a sequel and makes me want to read the full book! I've also requested that and look forward to diving in.

I loved PS, I Love You, so I was super excited to hear that there was going to be a sequel to one of my favourite tear-jerkers. But, I hate to admit it, but Postscript didn't work for me. I don't think it has the same emotional appeal as the previous book did. I was blubbering away and willing for a happy ending as I was with PS, I Love You.
Cecelia Ahern is one of the best authors of heartbreaking novels, she is in a league of her own, but this doesn't have that same magic to it that we are used to.
But, saying that if you haven't read PS, I Love You then this would be a wonderful and heartfelt book to read, but I think I have been ruined because of how much I loved that book..

I loved re-visiting Holly a few years after P.S. I Love You. Ahearn's writing, engaging from the start, has matured wonderfully in the years between the two books and I loved Postscript even more than its predecessor. It has humour, warmth, but also wonderful depth. A book that made me both laugh and cry. Thoroughly recommend.

Cecelia Ahern never disappoints, and this short excerpt from her follow-up to P.S. I Love You is sure to delight again.

I’ll be purchasing the book!

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.

I read PS I love you years ago and this book Postscript is the uplifting follow up. It’s a good sequel to a great book and hits the right spot.

A true taster for what I’m sure will be an amazing sequel to a poignant story. I look forward to reading the full story, catching up with Holly and revealing this new mystery of Ps I love you.

Unfortunately I didn’t love this one as much as I was hoping to. I loved the first book, but it just felt like something was missing from this one! Great writing, it just didn’t quite hit the mark for me!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

"It's been seven years since Holly Kennedy's husband died – six since she read his final letter, urging Holly to find the courage to forge a new life.

She’s proud of all the ways in which she has grown and evolved. But when a group inspired by Gerry's letters, calling themselves the PS, I Love You Club, approaches Holly asking for help, she finds herself drawn back into a world that she worked so hard to leave behind."

I LOVED this follow up to P.S. I Love You (and it encouraged me to re-read the original book and watch the film again).

The way she tip-toes in and then throws herself into the P.S. I Love You Club, which was set up by Angela Carberry who had formed a group of dying people who wanted to recreate Gerry's idea of leaving letters, notes, trips and memories for those left behind, was wonderful and would have made Gerry so proud. There are high and lows along the way for Holly and I cried and laughed with her and her family and friends and had a lovely warm feeling by the end of the book.

A very worth follow up, so congratulations to Cecelia Ahern, who has achieved the almost impossible.

I was so captivated by Holly's story post Gerry that I consumed every emotive chapter in a day. After PS I Love You, we see Holly losing her husband and trying to get her life back with the help of Gerry's letters. After the letters run out Holly had to restart her life as a widow, an identity that she didn't want or understand. To her she will always be a wife and any relationship that comes will just be filling in the gap that's been left by her late husband. I enjoyed Postscript and I loved the new characters that have been interwoven within the storyline, knitted amongst the chapters are themes of grief, spousal loss and what we all question, what will we leave behind for those we love when we die. Will we just fade into the distance? Become a memory? What print can we leave? Cecelia touches apon these aspects sensitively while also creating such a heartbreaking, yet life - affirming storyline. It's not always about death, it's about living in the moment, experiencing the great, the terrible and the damn right ugly - one event doesn't tarnish the rest of your life.

Cecelia explores both grief and recovery in this novel, with her emotive words and the way she stunningly writes, I was forced to look at how I deal with my own grief, in the case that it's okay to live and move on with your life - it's not about forgetting that person but making sure that you take them with you in memory as you love yours. It really resonated with me and I think that's why I was so drawn into Holly's life. Postscript is a tender, heartfelt novel that talks about old and new loves, Holly was afraid to move on, feeling that if she did it would mean she was being unfaithful and I think this is an important message, I think it's a bookish form of telling people that it's okay and it's human to need that social, romantic connection. I started this book, knowing that I was going to love it but I didn't know how far into my heart it would burrow. It's beautifully, heartbreaking and uplifting, I highly recommend adding it to your TBR pile!

Beautifully written and draws you back into the world of Holly and Gerry. I enjoyed the concept and hope we can return to Holly’s story again.

I really enjoyed returning to Holly and Gerry's story. This book will tug on your heart strings almost as much as P.S I Love You whilst still making you laugh. A very good sequel to one of my favourite books

When I saw this book, I was quite excited and I was really looking forward to reading this but I struggled to get into it and never finished it.

I have read various Cecilia Ahern books before, but this unfortunately was not one of her best. That's not to say it was bad - it was just sort of mediocre. I didn't really connect with the characters. The plot was... pleasant, shall I say? Overall, it is one of those books that I probably won't remember for very long because there was nothing to stand out. Sorry if I've offended anyone!
