It's been a long while since I last read 'P.S. I Love You' and I have to admit I was a bit weary about a sequel. For something that over the years has grown a reputation and become a classic romance story, I thought it would be better off untouched. Sequels can be pretty hit or miss these days but I have to say, I was thoroughly surprised.

This sequel was something I didn't know I needed. 'Postscript' was so beautifully and carefully crafted, I am wholly behind this sequel. Reading this was like welcoming back an old friend. There was something so warm and familiar about all the characters. Also there was such a homey feel to the book despite all the challenges that Holly had to face and the tougher topics it covered. Grief was a big theme for the book and I think it was handled with such care and love. Whilst I thought the first book was surrounded by this romantic bubble with a happy ending, 'Postscript' was more raw and delved so much deeper into the emotions. There were a lot of gaps with the whole letter writing plot from 'P.S. I Love You' that I hadn't even thought about until it was mentioned in 'Postscript'. I loved watching Holly grow and deal with her dilemmas and whilst I thought the first book was focused on Gerry, this one was definitely for Holly. There were a few emotional parts in the book and it did make me cry. But that's the beauty of a incredible book!

Overall, it's a stunning sequel. It's loaded with emotions and so beautifully done. It's very thoughtful and although I'm not usually one for sequels, this was exceptional. I couldn't recommend it enough.

I enjoyed PS I love you and cried through the book and film. The sequel was just as good and well written with a lovely plot and characters.

After reading P.S I Love You last week I knew I wanted to read the sequel asap. I was intrigued to see how Holly's life had changed in seven years, what was it like now? How much was Gerry still influencing her life?

The plot from start to finish was brilliant. I loved the concept of the P.S. I Love You Club and thought it was a great spin on the original book. With a fresh concept came a fresh group of characters, all with their own quirks and problems. My favourite addition was Ginika. She was candid, fierce and kind despite what she was facing and whilst I predicted the outcome for her daughter Jewel the tears still came when her final chapters were read. My favourite aspect of this club was that they each had their own take on what they wanted to do. It wasn't about copying Gerry's letters it was about finding their own version that fitted their life.

As well as some new faces we see some familiar ones return. The Kennedy tribe are back and as entertaining as ever but this time Ciara takes centre stage in the family and is a great help to Holly at certain times. My funny duo are back but Denise is taking more of the spotlight with Sharon contributing every now and again. Last and by no means least we see the return of Gerry (don't worry he's not back from the dead). The stories of Holly and Gerry early on were a sweet touch and the last chapters were particularly beautiful.

I found that this book had less laugh out loud moments and was definitely more of an emotional read. There were several points when I could feel myself welling up so I would not recommend reading this in public, unless your happy for people to see you cry! Sometimes a book leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling and this book did just that. I was overwhelmed with emotion by the end but despite the book being about grief and death I was left feeling hopeful and happy.

I was delighted to receive this sampler chapter. Just one chapter was enough to take us right back to Holly and Gerry's moving tale.

I can't wait to read the full novel.

The sampler is just as powerful as I remember any other book written by Cecelia Ahern. I was instantly invested in the story and I cannot wait to read the full book!

Utterly, utterly brilliant!! I loved being able to dive back into Hollys life and find out what became of her. I found myself in tears and smiling at the same time. Fabulous read, just make sure you have a box of tissues handy!! Definitely worthy of 5 stars!

4.5 stars.
A great sequel to one of my favourite stories. If you loved the original book or the movie adaptation, I’ve got a feeling that you’ll love Postscript.
It is great to catch up with Holly and see where she is in life many years after Gerry's last letter.
The new characters, from the PS I Love You Club and Holly's current life, add so much to the story but we also get to find out where Holly's best friends and family continue to play a part in her life.
I definitely welled up a few times as the topics of loss, grief and moving on are a focus throughout but nonetheless, it is expertly handled.
The only reason that it wasn’t quite 5 stars for me was that I predicted exactly how all the stories would tie up.

I'm usually wary of sequels, but I enjoyed this tale of love, loss, grief and moving forward. I actually found this difficult to read as I lost my mum this year but I'm glad I persevered; it is an emotional but triumphant read. Not many authors can tackle the emotion of death and dying so honestly and beautifully, it shows us how love stays with us and how debilitating grief can be. I loved the idea of the 'ps I love you club' which helped people with terminal illness learn how they can soften the blow for their loved ones and how they can have some say and control abut what happens after they have gone.
Thankyou to Cecelia Ahern, Netgalley UK and HarperCollins for the ARC in return for an honest review.

What a lovely little book. It was so easy to get into. The characters were well imagined and the story was beautiful. If you have read ps I love you then this is the next book from it. Holly has put Gerry and his letters in the past but then a can of worms are opened when the ps I love you club starts up and they want holly to help write letters to their loved ones. A story of love and loss which is protrayed beautifully. A sad but happy story in the end. Loved it

This was a sample of the book which led me to reread PS I love you before buying the full version of the book. I loved Holly before but now I adore her, I would love to be Holly’s friend. Get the tissues ready for this amazing sequel.

I really enjoy Cecelia’s Ahern’s writing and so I had high expectations for this which didn’t disappoint. The story was so beautifully told, handling sensitive topics such as death so well. I really like the humour in the book too and could imagine the characters as if they were friends. This is a five star book as it made me so feel so many emotions. I was fully immersed in that world - fantastic.

This is a sampler that is exclusive to NetGalley reviewers. Having read and enjoyed P.S. I Love You, I was more than happy to see that Cecelia Ahern had written a sequel to it. I always wondered what had happened to Holly after the story ended.

I was happy to have my request to read this sampler accepted, I was a little gutted that my request to read the full story was declined. However, since having it declined I have requested it from my local Library. I look forward to reading the whole story in due course, back to the sampler review though.

With this being a sampler I can't rate it. I did enjoy reading the first four chapters in the next instalment in the P.S. I Love You series. I look forward to reading the full book in due course.

Please read the first in the series P.S. I Love You before reading this one, then you have the full back story of the relationship between Holly and Gerry.

The book 'Postscript' is a sequel to the hugely successful 'P.S. I love you' by Cecilia Ahern. Within the opening pages, the author provides a brief but suitable introduction to the previous book - Holly's story- ensuring that you do not need to have read the original book.
As with many of Ahern's books, the reader is introduced to the heart of the story without much preamble of delay. Once again, the themes of grief, pain are the focus point but our protaganist has grown in the intervening years. She is now discussing her pain and grief on her sisters podcast and as a result, is contacted by a group calling themselves, "IS I love you" - a self-help group for people dealing with grief. Holly soon realised that becoming involved with this grouo, may not be the step forward that she had hoped.
Although beautifully written, the moments of humour from the first novel are sadly lacking this time around and the tender, amusing moments with her family are also absent. I feel that this impacts negatively on the story as I loved the original so kuch. However, if you are a newcomer to the shot of Holly, then this is a mute point. Either way, well worth a read.

I loved this book. Inspirational, food for thought, uplifting everything you want from a novel. Thank you so much for granting my wish on this one

I have not read ps. I love you but I have seen the movie, and always wondered if there would be more of Holly's story. This little sampler piqued my interest, its been seven years since her husband as dies, and six years since his letters have stopped, Holly has moved on with her life and has a new man.

Wow this book blew me away! I reread Ps I Love You before reading Postscript, so all the characters were fresh in my mind. It was lovely to see how the characters progressed in life and I was in tears several times throughout. It's amazing!

An amazing preview and I can't wait to read the full sequel to P.S. I love you. I'm hooked already. Cecilia Aherne at her very best.
