I never normally read samplers, they just make me want to read the whole thing (this one definitely did!) But I made an exception for the sequel to PS. I love you, a book I absolutely loved when it was release.

The sampler was perfect, Ahearn packs a punch with her prologue, when we join Holly seven years after Gerry's death, reflecting on grief at his graveside. It's beautifully written, and highlights straight away that this is much more than fluffy chick lit.

The opening chapters felt like more like returning to an old friend, as more of the authors trademark humour shines through and she brings light even when dealing with dark subject matter. The end of the sampler left me so intrigued to know more about Angela and the PS I Love You Club! Will definitely be getting the full story on release...

You could almost call my mid/late teens my ‘Cecelia Ahern’ years. I was obsessed. I shouted at Alex and Rosie in ‘Where Rainbows End’, fell in love with an imaginary friend in ‘If You Could See Me Now’ and sobbed behind my sunglasses while I read ‘P.S. I Love You’ poolside.

My tastes have changed quite dramatically since then but when I saw that the infamous tear jerker was getting a sequel, I just couldn’t help myself. A HUGE thank you to @netgalley and @harpercollins for selecting me as one of five lucky humans to receive an e-ARC of ‘Postscript’ this month!

It’s been seven years since Gerry’s death, six since Holly read the final letter asking her to have the courage to move on with her life and she’s proud of the ways in which she’s grown and evolved. When she reluctantly agrees to talk about the letters on her sister’s podcast, she has no idea how many people it’ll inspire or the difficult journey that a group calling themselves the P.S. I Love You Club have in store for her.

I devoured this in one, tissue littered, snot soaked and salty-cheeked sitting. I didn’t find it quite as heart breaking as its predecessor BUT I challenge you to get through this book without shedding a tear or ten. Honestly, I’m still not really convinced that we needed a sequel but I did thoroughly enjoy Postscript, an intimate look at the long term effects of grief and what it means to embrace the future when it can feel like betraying the past. Just make sure you’re prepared with tissues.

I loved this short sampler and will definitely be buying the finished copy. I was very hesitant when I heard this was a sequel to Ps. I Love You because that book was such a perfect standalone and I was worried this was just a jump onto the hype train. That doesn't seem to be the case however, and seems to be an organic look at how grief lingers. I'm excited to read more.

Didn’t notice that this was just a sampler so very disappointed- my fault no one else’s. I was so looking forward to it but just have to buy it.

This was the sequel to PS I Love you, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a follow on from Holly’s life after losing her husband Gerry 7 years ago. In here she tried moving and is now with a Gabriel whom is got to know through her sister Ciara.
Holly has been moving and is asked to be part of a podcast talking about her growls and how she been able to move on, from this the Ps I love you club is formed. Here she makes a variety of friends and all help each other with there grief and moving on.
The book and the story was well written loved it as much as the first!

I was left wanting more... having only received three chapters. This was a well written and thoroughly enjoyable addition to PS I love you, which I had both read and seen the film. I have to say that I wanted to story to keep going and going and hope that it indeed does, at some point. Worth reading, despite being a short story at this point.

As ever Cecelia Ahern hits all the right notes at the right moment for another enjoyable read. A must holiday read to slip into the suitcase for when the blinding sun turns your reading app useless. Pity the full version isn’t out until September. I was almost sorry it was only a taster sample because I’m desperate to read more

I was so excited to read this as I loved P.S I Love You. This got me so excited over the fact there is more to the story. I wanted it to continue as I completely gripped. Can’t wait for the next part to find out more about the P.S I Love You Club. 😬😬 thank youNetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this early.

I can’t wait to read the full book and see how Holly has moved on in the years since Gerry’s death.

The story picks up seven years after the death of Holly's husband, Gerry, and six years after she read the last of the ten letters he left for her to read after he passed. Holly is now working at a vintage clothing shop, Magpie, with her sister Cara and trying to move on with her life. She's been dating Gabriel for two years and he recently asked her to move in with him. She worries she's using him as a stop-gap until she can be reunited with Gerry once more. But that isn't who she wants to be. So she agrees to move in.

Meanwhile Ciara has a podcast series called How To Talk About and has asked Holly to take part in the episode How To Talk About Death. Reluctantly, Holly agrees and she finds herself in a room full of thirty people answering questions about a time she tries not to think about. The crowd are particularly interested in Gerry's letters and some people express that they wish their loved ones had left them letters like he did for Holly. One lady in particular is keen for Holly to keep sharing her story and maybe even write a book. She keeps coming into the shop and Holly tries to evade her thinking she's a bit of a stalker. When she learns the woman is part of something called the PS I Love You Club she's had enough. But sobering news makes her question how she's looked at both this woman and Gerry's letters.

Beautifully written and moving this was a great teaser for the full novel. I read PS I Love You when it was first released and was both thrilled apprehensive when I learned that there was to be a sequel. Would it live up to the emotive power of the first book? From these few pages I would say it looks like it does. I am so thankful that I have an early copy of the full book I can now immediately read as I need to know what happens next! Will Holly move in with Gabriel and live happily ever after? Will she start talking about Gerry's letters? And what exactly is the PS I Love You Club?

Thank you to Harper Collins UK, Netgalley and Cecilia Ahern for my copy of this sampler in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely fell in love with Holly + Gerry in P.S. I love you and was very apprehensive when I heard that a follow up to the best seller was due to come out. P.S. I love you explored grief in such a profound, heartbreaking way and I just couldn't see how the story could continue with the same level of emotion.

Silly me! This is only a preview but I fell so easily back in to the world of Holly and her overwhelming love for her husband, even 7 years after his death. Interesting to get a snippet in to how things have changed and I can't wait to read the full version.

I love PS I Love You and have read it many times. I can’t wait to read the rest of the book and get reacquainted with all the characters again. I’m sure I will laugh and cry just through this book as I did the last.

A big fan of Cecelia Ahern’s books and PS I Love you in particular I am really looking forward to the publication of Postscript, the sequel. I’ve loved this tantalising little glimpse of what’s to come. Suffice to say it as lovey and heart rendering as the original. I had requested the full book but have not been lucky enough to have been accepted but I really appreciate this first look that has certainly whet my appetite. Roll on publication day

Postscript is the sequel to PS, I Love You, which in itself is a great book, (if you've not yet read you should, but if you haven't it doesn't affect reading this book as the prologue gives you the brief on the initial book.)
The book is based around Holly Kennedy, who seven years previously lost the love of her life, Gerry, to cancer. On knowing his cancer was terminal, Gerry arranged, with the help of family and friends, for a letter to be sent to Holly each month, after his passing, with ways to encourage/aide Holly to find ways with moving on with life without him by her side.
Postscript starts seven years after Gerry's passing, six years after the final letter. Holly is with a new partner Gabriel, cautiously living life when her sister Ciara asks her to do a podcast about the secret gift her husband Gerry gave her after he passed. This was what Holly would hope to be the last time she'd need to bring back the memories of those personal letters, relive the loss. Listeners loved the podcast soo much, it inspired them to setup a group named PS, I Love You, which Holly is reluctant to join.

When I saw there was going to be a sequel to PS, I Love You, I was looking forward to seeing where it would take Holly. This was my favorite of Cecelia Aherns books, filled with humour and emotion, based on this I don't feel I'd be disappointed with the sequel. So far Postscript has that same emotion and humour, I can't wait to read the rest of this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for this sampler. I read PS I love you many years ago and cried my eyes out after every page, this book looks like it will be similar. I nearly cried twice just reading it. I'm not sure I enjoyed it as much as PS I love you and didn't feel I liked the characters quite as much but a promising start.
