This was such a sweet and fun book. I really liked the premise of an unlikely romance between a rocket scientist and an actor. Lana and Christian's chemistry was palpable. Ms. Isley wrote a lovely story based on the belief that Lana was unaware of Christian's celebrity status when she first meets him. Of course, he is instantly drawn to her and that feeling is only amplified by the fact that she likes him for "him" not because he's a star.

When we first meet Lana in the beginning, she's heartbroken over the demise of a ten year relationship. It's nice to see her move on and flourish. She makes changes in her life and not just the relationship with Christian. Meanwhile, Christian struggles with when to tell Lana about his star status and a fear of how the quiet and shy rocket scientist will handle his fame and stardom.

A cute book with a clever take on a favorite trope of mine.

Camilla Isley is slowly coming onto the list of authors who bring me that tinny bit of joy needed when reading such books. This book kept me afloat. Super sweet and easy to read. This is my second book by her and I have liked it.

Christian Slade is America’s favorite heartthrob. But letting romance into his life isn’t easy as the women he dates all seem to want his glamorous life rather than his heart. And then he meets Lana, a sweet and smart rocket scientist who has no idea who he is. But what will happen when she finds out?

This was a sweet and funny book, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. I loved both the main characters and the supporting characters were fantastic. Overall, a fun, quick and easy read, which I managed to finish in a day. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I'm a bit late in posting a review but life happened .I have to point out that the delay was in no way a reflection on the quality of the read, I was chomping at the bits to get back to the story. Both main characters are easy to love, Lana not only for her brilliance and command of her field of work or her adherence to the little things that matter, but for her overall sense of responsibility to her friends and to her environment.Christian started out clueless because along the way to being successful, he forgot a few life lessons and got caught up in the fantasy but was receptive to making changes when it was needed.I loved the flow of the story and the other supporting characters.I believe Penny should have a story of her own.I plan to catch up on all the other books in this series.Well done.

I love Hollywood/celebrity romances and this one was really cute. It was a quick read, predictable, but the dialogue and characters were likable and entertaining. Some times you need a good happy rom com and this fits the bill. I have not read any of the previous books in the series and I didn’t feel like I was missing any details.

To the Stars and Back is the fourth book in the First Comes Love series. It is still a standalone. I have read the other four, but I did not read them in order and they all stand alone. Christian has appeared in previous books though. Christian is a movie star, running from the paparazzi he ends up in a hotel room storage room closet to hide and finds a woman, Lana, in there crying because she just found her boyfriend and friend going into a hotel room together. Lana doesn’t have a clue who he is. They begin a friendship which turns into more. They were opposites but so great together. This is a fun, entertaining story and I’d recommend it.

Famous movie star, Christian, happens to overhear what sounds like a woman crying from inside a storage cupboard in the hotel he is staying at. He decides to investigate and comes across Lana who is upset after finding her boyfriend with her best friend in the very hotel she is hiding in.

To Christian's surprise, Lana has no idea who he is and Christian finds this a refreshing change of pace. The two strike up a friendship and exchange numbers and thus begins a courtship where Christian believes he can finally be himself around somebody that isn't interested in his money or fame.

This is a light and entertaining read that is romantic and engaging. Both lead characters are a pleasure to get to know. This will definitely leave you with sore cheeks from the smile inducing cuteness!

This is a fun romantic book. It doesn't really bring anything new to the table but it's an enjoyable fast read with loveable characters.

As I am new at the Netgalley site, I was browsing through the read-me now list, and when I saw the cover and read the summary, I thought it is the right candidate TBR, even if it is the fourth book in the series. The truth is I wasn't paying attention while downloading the book I had only two days to read the e-book. Somehow I managed to read it in three sittings.
As I am a mood reader and I read other books at the same time, and they are a little bit heavier, I felt that I wanted something fluffier and a romantic comedy. "To the Stars and Back" is a book part of the series. But you can be read as a standalone and out of order. Lana and Christian's meet-cute is something I have never read. I like how Christian is thoughtful and helpful during Lana's tough time.
Making a female main character, smart, and nerdy, is another aspect you see and read every day.
These books take important subjects and intertwine them as sub-subject in an innovating way. One such subject education, and specifically for people that are not so privileged, helps them to get the knowledge for a better future. Education of women in fields that are usually managed and handled by the male population is another issue applied in this book. The other theme that is implementing as a sub-subject is environmental issues.
I am looking forward to reading Camilla Isley's books from the "First Comes Love" series, as well as her other works.

This is my second book to read in this series and I ate Up every word. I loved This cute, quick reads. It’s predictable and adorable and just what I needed. I am A new fan of Camilla Isley! I love How she incorporates the past couples in the series into each book so we get an update on their lives. I also Appreciate that although this is a series you can read them as stand alone books as well.

I would've loved to read and review this book, but it is not available as a mobi format for those of us who read on Kindle! Such a pity, I really enjoy this author.

A very cute romance book!

I don't usually like books with famous characters, but I didn't really mind it here. Loved Lana and Christian and especially the cats!!!!! The end was a bit cheesy though. All the famous characters mentioned made me laugh, Julia Roberts, and Leo....werid, but funny.

Definitely recommend the book, if you're are looking for a rom-com that is an easy and quick read!

Christian is a big movie star trying to avoid the paparazzi at the hotel he is staying at . Christian is a multimillionaire and loves fast cars and spending money. Lana is a Science professor at UCLA, and a rocket scientist. She is well educated and a clever woman. She cares about the environment and doesn’t like fuel-guzzling cars or celebrities. He goes into a storage room and hears someone crying. It’s lana. She had followed her boyfriend to the hotel and caught him with another woman - her best friend. She had been with her ex for ten yearsLana’s not into t v or movie stars. Doesn’t know who Christian is. Christian tries to comfort Lana. After leaving the storage room Christian offered Lana a ride home. Lana gives Christian her business card and she wrote her number on it. After awhile Christian calls Lana, Christian wonders how he can keep his fame and fortune from Lana. he sees something special in Lana and wants to be different for her. But to get lana to like him, he had to pretend he was someone he wasn’t.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a good romantic read. Although I didn’t like Christian keeping who he really was from lana but I also understood why he felt he had to. I liked that Lana was a very smart, high- principled woman. I loved how christian did try to comfort Lana even though he didn’t even know her. I loved the duo POV. I felt so bad for lana when she found her boyfriend of ten years cheating on her and with her best friend. This was a fun, easy, quick read. I read this in one setting as I didn't want to put it down. I loved the pace and plot. I really liked christian’s assistant penny. This caught my attention right from the start. And kept it until the end. I didn’t like Christian keeping who he was from lana. I loved lana and christian together, and they had hot chemistry. I loved that Christian wanted to help the less fortunate. I also loved the supporting characters. In this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

I've read and enjoyed Camilla Isley's other First Come Love stories, but unfortunately, this was my least favourite. I didn't think that the characters were compatible and I didn't see how they really loved each other. Starting with Lana, it was incredibly unrealistic that a 30 year-old woman wouldn't know who the biggest movie star/celebrity was and didn't watch ANY movies or TV. I know she addressed not paying attention to magazine covers, billboards, and advertisements, but it was too unbelievable. Especially since celebrity culture is so intertwined with regular news and media in this day and age. With Christian, I didn't think his frivolous lifestyle would mesh well with Lana's morals. I know that people can change, but his first instinct to impress her was to buy a brand new Tesla. And then he also flies a private jet later in the story. I enjoyed the side characters (Chef Jeff and Penny were adorable!), but I couldn't connect with the main characters. Unfortunately, this book was not for me.

To the Stars and Back, A Glittering Romantic Comedy, Camilla Isley

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance

Well, this is book four in the First comes Love series, but each book is a stand alone although part of an interconnected series via the characters. I'd not read any of the others, but really enjoyed this as it was so don't worry if like me you've just dived in and not realised there are earlier books.
I love this type of read and enjoyed this novel, but there wasn't any gut wrenching emotion or drama from the nasty characters that I do love to find in this trope. Everybody is so nice, and while that's good to read, I'm the sort of person who wants a few of the mean girls in. Not everyone does though, we all want different things.

I loved Christian, so unassuming, so genuine, and yet he's been famous and wealthy for so long he has lost touch a bit with everyday life. ( The handbag, perfect example). Lana is a bit the other way, very in touch with day to day issues, a fervent environmentalist, she sees Christians spending as frivolous excess. At times that meant he'd tried to be thoughtful, but his actions were misunderstood, not always appreciated. There's a balance, and though I agree with her on so much, at times she did come over a bit self righteous and judgmental.
I liked that she was unaware of who he was, so blasé about fame. Like her I don't have a TV, I read, not watched TV for years now so fame and famous people only comes to my knowledge via online news, and TBH I don't bother reading most of it.

I wasn't entirely convinced they fell in love quite so quickly, she's just come out of a long term relationship which had admittedly run its course, and he was decrying Love as a fantasy at the start of the book. Its a fun story, very real at times, with great characters, including the secondary ones, and I did enjoy it.

Stars: Four. Not heart-stopping drama but an entertaining afternoons read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and Pink Boom Press for letting me read this book.
I have been really lucky to read book two and three in the series and this book was just as good.
Christian as a character was refreshingly fun. He accepted the cons of his career and did the best he could. Lana with her personality, was easy to relate to, as were her concerns for the future.
It would've been nice for Lana to have some closure with Summer, but maybe she didn't need it in the end.
Light and an entertaining read, with some lovely cameos; Camilla Isley has done it again.

Great read.

Christian is a famous movie star. When he meets Lana he is surprised to learn she doesn't know who he is. He has a chance to be himself, with someone who isn't after him for fame and money. Will all that change when she does find out who he is?
