this was a really good psychological read, the characters were great and I really enjoyed the plot. I like the way the author writes a story.

Ray Watts is an artist, who is currently on the wrong side of successful and also dealing with a not so great marriage. Randomly, Faye appears, a beautiful, mysterious, intriguing woman, who offers Ray the job of a lifetime. He is asked draw graphics for their video game, Core Quest, at Cyber Arts. Along with the job offer and substantial payment, Ray signs a non disclosure agreement saying the he will never play the game. Following these seemingly random events, are multiple murders that take place before and alongside Ray's storyline. Ray begins to see that this wonderful fortune that he was granted is not so wonderful at all. Using his wife and friends, Ray attempts to figure out what is drawing him to this video game, and what will happen if he doesn't find that answer quick enough.

This book was the third book in a series, and I wanted to read it because it was made to seem that it could be read as a stand alone. I slightly disagree. There seemed to be things already developed in the story that I wasn't sure about, that may have been more established in previous stories. Overall, this story was okay, and made me want to keep reading until the end. I was disappointed here and there with how chaotic the story was and by the conversations that were had by the different characters. It was all very choppy and at times made me feel like I missed a page. I don't think that I would recommend this book, as the story was all over the place, the characters were frustrating and the ending was less than exciting.

Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon/Victory Editing for allowing me a chance to read your story.

Faye, a friend of a friend, visits Ray's "dark" gallery. Faye meets Liz, Ray's wife. and downloads "Core Quest" -a game- onto Liz' iPAD.

After observing Ray's artwork, he is invited to work for Cyber Arts as an artist. This, at a high rate of pay. Also Ray is told in his contract - NOT to play the game - "Core Quest". He does play it and becomes obsessed with the game. Is he also obsessed with Faye? What will happen to Ray when/if he continues to play the game?

Also, a mysterious murder spree is in the mix...

I couldn't put this one down. HIGHLY recommend for those who are gamers or non-gamers!

Many Thanks to Amazon/Victory Editing and NetGalley for a great read.
