Thank you to Tracy Wolff, the publishers and Netgalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.

In short, I couldn't put this down! Interesting plot, engaging dialogue, interesting characters. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to Book 2.

Crave reminds me of Twilight and that feeling of young love with a dangerous edge.

The Katmere Academy is a great setting for the story, where the location of Alaska is just as dangers as the students of the school. I love that the school is a caste and that it has creepy/dangerous areas. There is one location I would want to spend more time in is the library, and if they ever need a replacement librarian I would happily apply.

The leading lady of Crave is Grave and I liked her automatically, she isn't in denial about her grief and dealing with it the best she can. She also is kind and will stand up for herself. I really liked her after she said.

"I've never met a library I didn't like."
Another quote I loved was;

"I'm not a damsel in distress; I'm a dragon in a dress."
I would love that on a sticker or something else.

I have a couple of things about Crave that I am unsure about;

The fact that they didn't tell Grace about how different the students of Katmere Academy are straight away.
I love the Pop culture references, but I worry that It will cause the book to become dating quickly.
Overall I enjoy the plot, pacing and the characters. The ending took me by surprise and made me interested to read the next book.

Also, I loved that at the end of the book we get 3 chapters from Jaxon POV from the first interaction with Grace.

My Rating for Crave is 3.8 out of 4

Twilight is a guilty pleasure of mine. I usually don't enjoy fantasy, but something about vampires does it for me. I blame watching Interview With A Vampire at a young age and falling in love with Lestat. So naturally, when I saw this book I was both apprehensive and dying to read it. I'd heard a lot of reviews talking about it being almost exactly like Twilight, and although I enjoyed Twilight when I was a lot younger I am aware that the writing wasn't great and the story was cliche.

I read Crave anyway. Boy am I glad I did. It was very Twilight, but add in a dash of Dark Acadamia and some dragons. I wasn't drawn in immediately, it did take me a little while to get into the flow of the story, but once I did I was hooked. I have a new favourite vampire in Jaxon, and although I'm not too sold on the main character I will continue to read for Jaxon. Their chemistry is swoony and I lived for the slightly raunchy vampire scenes. Please give me more of this in the upcoming books.

The Plot was fine, I was engaged in it, it wasn't anything mindblowing and was pretty predictable (I guessed who was doing all the bad things straight away), but it didn't turn me off the book. I think I expected the book to be predictable and kind of cringey in places so it didn't hurt my reading experience. I did really enjoy the setting of Alaska, and the dark acadamia feel of the boarding school so that was a great addition to the story.

I will continue to read this series, it is my new guilty pleasure and I cannot wait to get my hands on some more Jaxon. Thank you Tracy Wolff for writing him.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of Crave in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this story and can't wait for the sequel! I was in the mood for a good vampire book after I read the Twilight book again. So I chose "Crave" to be my next read. I didn't had high expectations for it and I was so surprised by the story. I was so swept away by this fun and full of secrets story.
Jaxon is a bad boy you just have to fall for. And all the other boys out of The Order.
Sometimes the too many secrets where a bit unnerving but it didn't break my will to read to read on and find all out. At the end there are still some questions open but I have high hopes that all are answered in the sequel.
I can highly recommend this book!

Thank you so much Hodder & Stoughton for an e-copy of this book.

I can’t believe I am going to give 5 stars to this book. No offence, but I was so sceptical about picking up a Twilight 2.0 (as everybody is labelling this book) and I was so wrong. And, I feel I need to clarify, I was not a fan of the Twilight series. But I really enjoyed Crave, it was such a fun read.

Crave tells the story of Grace, who just lost her parents in a terrible accident. She has no family left, except an uncle who is also the headmaster of an apparently super-elite boarding school, situated in a remote area of Alaska. Grace moves to Katmere Academy and discovers a world where magical creatures exist, including (sexy) vampires.

I have to say, Grace didn’t strike me with a very strong personality. However, the writer does a great job in adding witty and snarky remarks and jokes, and you like Grace for what she is, a teenager who has seen too much already but is trying her best to move on with her life. As the story is told from Grace’s perspective, it’s also the world that she encounters that ultimately becomes quite fascinating for the reader.

While Grace is obviously unaware of what is going on, the reader can not help but laugh out loud at certain situations – the Twilight book comment or watching Legacies on Netflix – that was hilarious. However, when Grace finally discovers the truth about the academy, the story becomes darker and more fast-paced. We get more action and you just forget you have real life responsibilities to attend to, a cat to feed and a job to do, and you can’t put the book down.

And then, of course, there is the more obvious fast-track romance with the broody, sexy, dangerous vampire, Jaxon Vega. And again, after the truth is out, Jaxon’s story becomes even more dramatic and intriguing.

It’s a fun story, with an unpredictable cliff-hanger, I would say it’s between YA and New Adult because of the constant sexual tension between Grace and Jaxon. It has lots of paranormal elements, you get witches, warlocks, dragons, werewolf, and vampires, but it will also make you giggle. For me, rather than Twilight, because I never cared about Edward (I was more an Eric Northman-kind-of-girl) this book reminded me a lot of the Shatter Me series, in terms of romance. It fills the emptiness Warnette left in my heart.

"So if you aren't afraid of things that go bump in the night, what are you afraid of?"

I had seen this book all over bookstagram so when I saw it was on NetGalley, I was super excited to read and get approved for a copy. I haven't read a lot of Vampire romance since my early teens, so I enjoyed returning to the genre.

The story follows Grace, who was recently orphaned and is being sent to Alaska to stay with the only family she has: her uncle and his daughter, Macy. Since her uncle is the headmaster of the prestigious Katmere Academy, Grace is enrolled and meets Jaxon Vega.

I liked that this book kept it's originality. The inclusion of dragons and vampire royalty was really interesting and helped Crave to stand out. The quips as chapter headings were amusing and tied in well with Grace's sarcastic narration. I loved Jaxon, Macy and Flint as characters and especially liked the Order. The world building was exceptional and easy to imagine. I loved the finale and can't wait to read the next book to see what happens. The included chapters from Jaxon's POV were an amazing addition and very insightful.

However, this book seemed too long, especially when the events all occurred within a week. She literally lost her parents 5 weeks before?!?! How can she be thinking about boys and snowball fights?? I'm not the biggest fan of insta-love and Jaxon gave me whiplash. Grace was such a strong character in some chapters and I wanted to see more of that. I felt like Jaxon treated her like an invalid and there were only a few instances when she confronted him about it. I thought the villain was a bit obvious but there were enough other twists to keep me intrigued.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Ok hear me out, I know from the cover there's a distinct *Twilight* vibe and I know a lot of people have made several comparisons between Crave and Twilight on bookish social media and the likes, even I'm guilty of judging this book by its cover. But try and hold your judgements because I think you'll be really surprised by this book!

Crave is a really good binge read, it's one of those books you start late at night thinking you'll only read a couple of chapters but you look at the time and suddenly it's 2am (true story haha). This book has everything, high school romances, insta love, slight love triangle, supernatural creatures, cliques and a whole lot of mystery.

Everyone's is so suspicious, Grace's cousin and uncle, EVERYONE student, I like the subtle hints directed towards certain characters, I love it when I'm right about a character. Crave has a major case of insta love, and while I found it slightly cringe, I did like it. The characters are interesting and the plotline is shrouded in enough mystery to keep you reading. Towards the end of Crave there are quite a few violent scenes between the characters though so I would keep that in mind and grief does feature heavily in this book as well, but I did find those scenes to be really well written.

Crave is YA  (young adult) book through and through, I did find it to be a bit cringe in some parts but that might be because I am a little bit older than the intended audience. I also found there to be a bit of repetition, such as Grace kept mentioning "she's a therapist" about a character we don't meet throughout the book and it kinda got to the point where I was like "I know" (Monica Geller style!), it was just something I picked up on. I did really enjoy Crave though, I read half of it in one night because I just couldn't put it down and when pre orders for the second book come out in the UK, I'll be pre-ordering for sure, especially after that ending ;)

Accurately, I'd give this book 3.5 stars but there were a couple of things that missed the mark for me. However, I'll start with what I really loved. Firstly, I have been craving a good passionate paranormal romance for a while now and this really delivered. I loved the addition of Dragons in human form, I thought that was a super cool aspect of the book and I really liked how the different supernatural cliques were described, if a little stereotypical I suppose in a fantasy way. I liked the barriers being crossed of the mundane and the supernatural throughout the book.

I felt the word swoon came up a few too many times, and whilst the romance was passionate and the male lead, Jaxon, seemed incredibly swoon-worthy, it kind of lost it's intended affect on me a few chapters in. Jaxon, as a character however, was great. I really loved reading Grace and Jaxon's interactions, he was intriguing and sexy from the start and I couldn't wait to read more about him. His friends also seem pretty interesting and I really liked the name choices for them. As a group they seem interesting.

I wasn't keen on the MC, Grace, and some of her actions and so struggled to completely connect with her, mostly from her contemporary music choices and text abbreviations but that's probably a bit nitpicking. Macy, again, struggled with her, she was a bit overbearing at times.

There were a few inconsistencies throughout the story which did get a bit irritating. Also the mention of the horrible scary tree came up once and there was no lore or anything about it which I thought was strange as it felt really significant when reading. I also struggled a lot with waiting 40 chapters for the big reveal of what is actually going on especially when it had only been like a week or a few days worth of plot time. It felt like many more weeks had passed by that point than just a few days. I do prefer books to have a bit of a longer plot timeline just because it makes the arcs and contents a little more believable, even in fantasy books.

I did like the addition of the extra scenes from Jaxon's point of view, that was really cool and it was great to read an alternative and find out what was going on with Jaxon before/during/after the events of the book. The end actually came out of nowhere for me so I'm intrigued to find out what will happen next.

I was delighted to be chosen to review Crave via NetGalley. I adore fantasy romance so this seemed like a perfect fit.

Grace moves from the heat and glamour of California to the furthest outreaches of Alaska following her parents death.

She know there is something “off” about the elite school her uncle runs but is so caught up in reconnecting with her cousin and her attraction to the cool and aloof Jaxon.

I started with hope for a live story to match Bella and Edward, unfortunately it falls short.

Grace is fairly likeable although a little dense - Jaxon is hot & cold then hot & cold and then ............... you’ve guessed it hot & cold!

The story really took sometime to get going and whilst I did enjoy it once it did progress it wasn’t as thrilling as I’d hoped it would be.

There are some great descriptive situations with some twists and turns along the way.

Aimed at YA I felt there was too much unnecessary swearing including multiple F bombs especially towards the end as the action heats up.

As a parent I didn’t monitor my YA reading material if it was aimed at there age group. I would not have been happy for them to have read this on that basis.

Overall - good but not great with some interesting twists.

Unfortunately I really struggled to get into this book and only managed to get 6% through before admiring defeat.

I’m not going to lie, this was a bit of a filler book for me until Midnight Sun gets released this week. It felt like time to dip my toes back in the YA vampire romance universe. Everything about this book just screamed “Twilight Rip Off” from the black, white and red simplistic cover to the human teenage heroine Grace and the dark and brooding teenage vampire Jaxon Vega.

Once I started reading though I was really pleasantly surprised. Yes there is a bit of an homage to Twilight – even including Jaxon giving a copy to Grace to read! – but Wolff has made her own changes to vampire lore and there are a few other supernatural creatures thrown in for good measure. Grace is a tough cookie, recently orphaned and sent to live with her Uncle and cousin in Alaska. She isn’t the simpering leading lady. She is strong and opinionated and knows what she wants.

Despite my own misgivings I devoured this book in just a couple of days, often reading into the early hours because it was just so hard to put down. My biggest issue was the fact that the book ended so suddenly on quite a shocking cliffhanger. Reading the eBook version I thought I had a good chunk of the book left but there are three key chapters that have been rewritten from the point of view of Jaxon – sounds familiar?! These are actually quite interesting and worth a read but it did mean the book ended quite abruptly. Looks like I’ve got a long wait until Crush is released <sigh>

Its not surprising to hear that Universal Pictures have already picked up the movie rights to this saga. It feels like this one could run and run.

Tracy Wolff's Crave brought me an incredible amount of joy, that no vampire book since Twilight has given me.

Crave was everything that I wished it to be: angsty, ridiculous, dramatic, and funny. I loved Jaxon and Grace, especially when the latter was always just like "meh. I don't care" and Jaxon is like "????"

Honestly, it is hard to talk about this book without spoiling it, because I want to talk about all the moments that I loved: both the genuine good moments, but also the hilarious, this-is-so-bad-but-it is-just-so good-at-the-same-time ones.

I can say with certainty, without the need for spoilers, that if you are looking for some good entertainment and a fun read, that is both unique but filled with the classic tropes and clichés of early to late 2000's YA, then this is the book for you.

I can't wait for the sequel.

I was super excited to be selected to review this book as I’m a sucker for a fantasy romance - excuse the pun!

I struggled to get fully into the book but In the end overall I enjoyed it. The ending for me really made the story!

It reminded me so much of twilight! Which is fine, as I loved twilight! But I found myself always comparing the two.

I’m glad to have been chosen to read and if anyone enjoyed twilight then I’d recommend to try crave.

Crave is so bad.
Literally unreviewably bad.
Plot? We don't know her. Well written female characters? What is that. Non-racist depictions of POC? Get outta town!
If you want to read a terrible book, I wouldn't even reccomend this one. Go somewhere else.

When I first saw the book, I wasn't so sure that I would like it. The cover makes it seem like a bit of a Twilight rip-off, which isn't the best first impression, but I'm so glad that I did carry on with it because I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I expected to. The first thing that I like about the book was the character Macy. She was just so sweet and adorable, and written in a way that didn't make her seem cheesy or naive, but rather that she was just a good person. She was the perfect soon to be best friend of Grace from the beginning, which provided a good contrast to the way all the other students were treating her.

Along with the characters, the way high school life was written and described was fairly realistic, which made it a lot more relatable for me. It wasn't so over-exaggerated that it just seemed silly, but it wasn't so different to a real-life high school either. I think that the author found a great balance between the fact that Katmere Academy would obviously be quite different from the average reader's school, but at the same time not going so over the top with the description that it would be impossible to believe in the storyline. When reading a book about paranormal teenage characters, I feel like the writer has to be careful to not make it too much of either of these things, in this case Wolff did a good job.

The last thing that made the book stick out for me were all the chapter titles. Most books at the moment just use numbered chapters, but it was much more enjoyable for me to have all the quirky titles at the start of the chapters in this book, it added a bit of fun to the books, especially in some of the more tense moments.

There weren't many things I disliked about the book, but the main thing for me was how obviously clichéd it was. It would have been alright if there were only a few, or they were less noticeable, but there were just a few too many, and they were a bit too obvious. However, Grace did seem pretty aware of how clichéd her life was becoming, at a couple of points she even compares it to Twilight! This did help out the problem, as I found it made her situation a little funnier and less predictable. The one other thing that slightly got on my nerves were the pop culture references that seemed to be randomly just thrown into the book. A couple would be alright for me, but sometimes it felt like they'd just been put into the book to try to make it really relatable to teenage readers, only it didn't quite work properly.

All in all, Crave was much better than I was expecting, but it isn't one of those books that really stands out to me. I did get hooked in by it come the end of the book, so I will be reading the next book in the series, Crush, when it comes out, but I'm not absolutely desperate to read it right away.

I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was an excellent read!

It was literally a book that left me saying "WOW"!!

I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

It has me fully engrossed from start to finish

It is definitely 5 stars from me for this one!!
Very, very highly recommended!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have to admit that I’m rating this book mostly on enjoyment.

Oh boi it was a wild ride! The angst was everything I could have hoped for but obviously it didn’t quite hit the mark for me as it got a 4 stars and not a 5 like I would have liked.

I loved the fact that there were dragon shifters because I simply never saw that in any books.
I obviously loved the relationship and the fact that the plot wasn’t just about the two main love interest.
But there’s still one thing that I didn’t like about this book that took an entire star from my rating; the immediate love between jaxon and grace. I understand the fact that they’re (attention spoilers) mates but still in a matter of days they were together and I was a bit disappointed by this choice.

As I said in one of my updates it reminded me of twilight in the sense of the vampire romance but it was sooo much better ! If you like twilight think of this book as twilight but feminist and diverse.
I prepared myself for a mostly white cast but there were so much different ethnicities and sexual orientation, of course I can’t say if they were well represented as I’m not part of the communities. But I still nonetheless really enjoyed the fact that the author made sure there were a diverse cast of characters (even though it should be normal!)
I also really liked the fact that grace was explaining why she thought Jaxon wasn’t a bad person and trauma existed and should be acknowledged before judging someone. But sometimes it was a bit overdone like please I’ve started to understand that jaxon has traumas after you said it 40 times thank you very much.
I recommend you this book if you don’t mind the instant love.
Now that I’ve said everything I wanted I just need one thing; BOOK TWO ONG I NEED IT ITS NOT JUST A WANT OK??

I enjoyed this book, but it could’ve been significantly shorter.
The story was a bit cliched and lacked a real plot at points. A plus point was that there was less angst than I’m used to from other vampire books.

Overall a solid read, but nothing exceptional.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc of this book! My opinions are my own.

When I read this book was about a young girl falling in love with a dangerous vampire, it was hard not to think of a certain well-known story. But I was in the mood for a good old vampire story, so I thought I'd give Crave a go. And am I glad I did!

We meet Grace, a teenage girl who just lost her parents. After their death, she moves to Alaska to live with her cousin Macy and uncle Finn, who is the headmaster of a boarding school. The other students don't exactly make her feel welcome, though. Especially this one guy Jaxon who seems to have everyone afraid of him. He's the brooding, secretive type, and obviously the most desirable human being in the entire world. Except he's not human.

Everyone who's ever read a YA vampire book knows where the story is going from here. However, the author still manages to surprise the reader with interesting characters and some nice plot twists. And I must say it's very refreshing to have a female main character who doesn't just give in to the overprotective nature of her love interest, but calls him out on it and doesn't lose her sarcasm in the meantime.

There is still a lot of back story that is unclear and side characters that could do with some development. Seeing as this is a trilogy, I'm hoping to read more about that in the later books! All in all I can certainly recommend this book!

Is it the most original vampire YA book? No, it's not.

Did I thoroughly enjoyed it? Absolutely

I liked the world, the characters, the surroundings. It's a true YA romance and it took me years back to my first live and my high school.

It's funny, quirky and absolutely relatable.

I read lots of negative reviews on here saying that it's too simple and silly but I guess they don't really remember how it is to be a teenager.

The castle, Alaska and descriptions paint a beautiful mysterious world that you can't wait to explore with the characters.

The twists are predictable but nonetheless enjoyable.

Highly recommend for light mood lifting read especially if you like vampires, can't wait for the second one.
