Description
The one you crave is the one who could get you killed.
From New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff, Crave is an action-packed and addictive young adult paranormal fantasy - with a bite.
The moment she steps foot inside, Grace knows there is nothing normal about Katmere Academy, or the students in it. Her uncle's exclusive and secretive boarding school is the last place she wants to be, but after the tragic deaths of both her parents, she is left with no choice.
Soon she realises she's entered a world like nothing she has ever known. Shapeshifters, witches and vampires roam the halls, existing in uneasy cooperation. As the lone mortal, the only thing Grace is sure of is that she doesn't belong.
Then she meets Jaxon Vega, a vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. Something in him calls to Grace - something that could spell her death.
Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And as Grace is drawn further under his spell, she begins to wonder: did she come to Katmere by accident, or was she brought here . . . as bait?

I loved Crave, it literally kept me up all night, turning page after page. There are always going to be comparisons to ‘other’ vampire books in the marketplace, but what makes this stand out is the use of language, imagery and dragons! I really liked how Wolff kept you in suspense, not revealing the big twist until 3/4’s of the way through the book. I can’t wait to read the next instalment in the series. |

If, like me, you grew up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Vampire Diaries and Twilight, then read this book...like NOW! I read this book at the beginning of lockdown after being stuck in a massive reading slump for years. This book reignited my love of YA books and fantasy! It's such an addictive read - I couldn't get enough! I've already pre-ordered the sequel, Crush. The story follows Grace who finds herself at Katmere Academy, her Uncle's boarding school in Alaska, and totally drawn in by the school's most well known student, Jaxon Vega. But, in true YA Fantasy fashion, things are not as they seem... The characters are fantastic - Grace is very likeable and understandable, Jaxon is every YA fantasy reader's dream and we see other characters, like Flynn and her cousin who add nicely to the mix. We have a range of mythical creatures represented at the school, including one that's very unique! (I'll not spoil that) I adored the three chapters at the end that conveyed pivotal scenes from Jaxon's POV - it was a welcome bonus! A well-written and enjoyable book! |

Crave that is definitely what this book will have you doing craving more, This book is cleverly written with detailed characters, plot, and twists that keep you guessing to the very last sentence. If twilight, morganville or women of the other world are your bag then this story is right up your street and will pull you in with every word from the start. The author is new to me but I can assure you it won’t be my last and I am already wanting to read book 2. |

Tracy Wolff's Crave brought me an incredible amount of joy, that no vampire book since Twilight has given me. Crave was everything that I wished it to be: angsty, ridiculous, dramatic, and funny. I loved Jaxon and Grace, especially when the latter was always just like "meh. I don't care" and Jaxon is like "????" Honestly, it is hard to talk about this book without spoiling it, because I want to talk about all the moments that I loved: both the genuine good moments, but also the hilarious, this-is-so-bad-but-it is-just-so good-at-the-same-time ones. I can say with certainty, without the need for spoilers, that if you are looking for some good entertainment and a fun read, that is both unique but filled with the classic tropes and clichés of early to late 2000's YA, then this is the book for you. I can't wait for the sequel. |

Crave is like Twilight grew up to be a witty, sophisticated feminist with a flare for fun and sexual tension. When reading, “Crave” the easiest comparison to draw would be that of, “Twilight”. But I feel like I would not be giving the author the credit due for what she has done for this genre. No, “Crave” may be the vampire love story we were missing from Stephanie Meyer’s series but we have arrived in 2020 more sophisticated, demanding more from our heroines, and our literature. I sat with Grace and Jaxon in every room and on every piece of furniture in my home and devoured, “Crave” from breakfast to bedtime. You will fall in love with the elegant world of Katmere Academy. You will gasp and plea for each page of romance, conflict, and plot twists. You will giggle, smile, and swoon at the texts exchanged and the witty dialogue between every lovable character. You will devote yourself to a faction and declare your loyalty to dragon, witch, vampire, or werewolf. Your heart will skip, soar, and sink for Jaxon along with his gaze and charm. You will identify with the strength, smarts, and cautious vulnerability of Grace, our heroine. And you will be left, like me, completely mind blown by an amazing ending, ready to journey Alaska, and what comes next in the world Tracy Wolff has created. |

Thank you so much Hodder & Stoughton for an e-copy of this book. I can’t believe I am going to give 5 stars to this book. No offence, but I was so sceptical about picking up a Twilight 2.0 (as everybody is labelling this book) and I was so wrong. And, I feel I need to clarify, I was not a fan of the Twilight series. But I really enjoyed Crave, it was such a fun read. Crave tells the story of Grace, who just lost her parents in a terrible accident. She has no family left, except an uncle who is also the headmaster of an apparently super-elite boarding school, situated in a remote area of Alaska. Grace moves to Katmere Academy and discovers a world where magical creatures exist, including (sexy) vampires. I have to say, Grace didn’t strike me with a very strong personality. However, the writer does a great job in adding witty and snarky remarks and jokes, and you like Grace for what she is, a teenager who has seen too much already but is trying her best to move on with her life. As the story is told from Grace’s perspective, it’s also the world that she encounters that ultimately becomes quite fascinating for the reader. While Grace is obviously unaware of what is going on, the reader can not help but laugh out loud at certain situations – the Twilight book comment or watching Legacies on Netflix – that was hilarious. However, when Grace finally discovers the truth about the academy, the story becomes darker and more fast-paced. We get more action and you just forget you have real life responsibilities to attend to, a cat to feed and a job to do, and you can’t put the book down. And then, of course, there is the more obvious fast-track romance with the broody, sexy, dangerous vampire, Jaxon Vega. And again, after the truth is out, Jaxon’s story becomes even more dramatic and intriguing. It’s a fun story, with an unpredictable cliff-hanger, I would say it’s between YA and New Adult because of the constant sexual tension between Grace and Jaxon. It has lots of paranormal elements, you get witches, warlocks, dragons, werewolf, and vampires, but it will also make you giggle. For me, rather than Twilight, because I never cared about Edward (I was more an Eric Northman-kind-of-girl) this book reminded me a lot of the Shatter Me series, in terms of romance. It fills the emptiness Warnette left in my heart. |

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Teen for the eARC of 'Crave' by Tracy Woolf. Crave is everything one could possibly want in a vampire story. I have seen people compare it to Twilight but I found it to be far better than that series and the idea behind the story unique and one that draws you in from the moment you meet Grace. Our heroine has been forced to leave San Diego with its sunshine and sand for the cold of Denali, Alaska in the wake of her parents' gruesome death to live with her Uncle Finn and his daughter. Finding herself a new student of her uncle's elite private school, Katmere Academy, our girl knows something is off, but just what it is and why she is being stared at by pretty much everyone around her is unclear. The relationship between Grace and her cousin, Macy is one that I enjoyed greatly and the gentle acknowledgement that the two haven't seen one another in some time is evident (the choice of colouring of clothing and bedding is child-like etc) but is endearing and realistic. Her meeting with Jaxon Vega is sudden and throws her off-kilter, he unsettles Grace and is unlike anyone she has ever known. Macy warns her not to get to know him: to stay far away from Jaxon but she can't stop thinking about him – excuse the pun but she craves his presence in her life. No matter what happens, he is something that she cannot be without. Crave is a new vampire novel that will re-awaken your love of all things fanged and supernatural because vampires aren't the only thing that attend the gothic masterpiece that is Katmere Academy. You're going to have to read it yourself to see just who or what is intrigued with our sunshine girl, Grace. |

I have a new bookish addiction! THIS WAS SO GOOD! I was completely hooked from the first page. A lot of people have compared this book to Twilight and I can very much see the similarities. Both have that compelling, almost guilty-pleasure aspect to them; you just can’t stop yourself from reading once you crack the book open! This is the kind of book that you can completely lose yourself in, you forget about all the scary craziness that’s going on in the world around us, and you get 100% invested in the bananas storyline of these characters. The book follows recent orphan Grace who moves to the wilds of Alaska to live with her uncle and cousin in the preppy boarding school, Katmere Academy, that he is in charge of. But it soon turns out that this is no ordinary boarding school as paranormal happenings are de rigueur! She quickly meets the quietly mysterious Jaxon... most popular, most good looking, most intense!... and sparks fly. They’re drawn to each other, but for reasons as yet unknown to Grace they really shouldn’t be. So their relationship very much blows hot and cold for much of the book... but this just kept me all the more invested in shipping them together. Strange events and near miss accidents keep occurring, many of the students are openly hostile without reason towards Grace, and soon Grace begins to realise that those niggling thoughts she has that couldn’t possibly be grounded in reality... well they might actually be truer than she realises. “Vampires, dragons and werewolves oh my!” This book pretty much just mashed together all the best loved teen drama tropes from popular films and books. I mean who doesn’t love the setting of a prep school with a paranormal twist on the social settings, mean girls, jocks, and clique groups stereotypes? The characters are great fun to read about: There’s hot and moody Jaxon. Then there’s almost as hot but more fun and flirty Flint. Grace’s fantastic cousin Macy is basically just all sorts of adorable and the way she’s so protective of Grace ... love to see it! And then there’s Grace herself. I really liked Grace. She was utterly ridiculous at times, frustratingly blinkered, and more than capable of making a bunch of daft choices... but then she has this great sass and belief in herself. I liked that she doesn’t take herself too seriously. I liked that she tries to protect her emotions and vulnerable side. I thought that she was ultimately rather relatable because she was thrown into this world of heightened emotion and drama just after losing her parents...and still had a keen sense of who she was as a person, and what was most important to her. For me though, the best thing about this book is that it’s completely tongue in cheek. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and is always poking fun at the genre of book it is. I mean the lead vampire character gives the lead female an actual copy of Twilight to read... I legit died laughing when that happened. And there are so many other little knowing nods to the genre... just I loved it! Overall I had an absolute blast reading this. It cheered me right up and I completely got swept away in the danger and drama. It’s an easy five stars from me and now I can’t wait to read book two in the series. Yes I have it preordered already! Highly recommended to people who love escapist YA fiction. *An e-copy of this book was kindly provided to me by the publisher via NetGalley. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions* |

If Twillight and the TV show Legacies had a baby, then it would deffently be this book. It's mysterious, romantic, action and it has some twist and turns that are insane. The author did a great job on making the reader keep reading, by not telling everything right away but letting some things being a secret. So you has to keep reading to find out what the secret is. . But I allso like the modern and very realistic writing it has. The characters are teenagers that act and talk like that, and not like a forced politeness. And OMG to that cliff hanger and the twist, I did not see that coming. And I freaking love it. Sorry super excited over this book. But all in all I had a hard time to lay this book away, I felt captured, spellbound and dragged into this story. And I'm a sucker for a difficult romance story. So 5 stars from me, and I can't wait to get my hands in book 2. I got my hands in this book by netgalley |

An excellent paranormal romance that kept me hooked till the end. Great world building and character development, a tightly knitted story, and an excellent storytelling able to stop and start making you turn pages as fast as you can. I can't wait to read another book by this author. Highly recommended. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine |

This was such a fun read, based on a school setting with vampires, witches and all things romance! I got all the twilight vibes from this book and the friendships in it were amazing! I really enjoyed the plot, and despite this being quite a long book, I loved every second of it! The writing is easy to read and the angst between our characters was AMAZING! I can't wait for the next one! |
