I’d like to thank HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Sleep Tight’ by C S Green in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

DC Rose Gifford has the uncanny ability to see dead people, especially her long-departed and annoying mother Adele. DS Sheila Moony sees this capability in Rose and asks for her to be seconded to the Met’s UCIT department which deals with solving supernatural crimes. Rose is currently with the MIT team investigating the unusual death of Hannah Scott who’s been suffocated in her bed. There are a lot of unanswered questions so will working with Moony help Rose solve this case?

‘Sleep Tight’ is the first in the DC Rose Gifford series and I can’t wait for the next one. It’s an unusual thriller that brings the supernatural into normal police investigations and has a unique plot, plenty of tension, drama and action. It’s been well-written with a spark of humour and is a bit different from the normal police investigative thrillers that I read. I occasionally suffer from sleep paralysis and I thought the story so realistic that it gave me nightmares as I was so involved I had to keep reading long after I should have been asleep. I liked all of the characters and can envisage a great series in the future, I look forward to it.

A good read although for me personally it wasn't a page turner and didn't keep me on the edge of my seat.

I am a bit 'on the fence' with this one although the characters were good it wasn't my type of read and I found it hard to get into the story line.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This was an intriguing read as it was a crime thriller with an unusual twist - the supernatural which is something I usually don´t read, so if you enjoy thrillers and supernatural stories, you will enjoy this one.

My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Harper Fiction for giving me the opportunity to read and review honestly

Sleep Tight is the first in the DC Rose Gifford series. Rose is investigating a death of a young woman that has been killed in her bed from suffocation. But the last expression on her face is of real fear and Rose thinks that this death is not as straight forward as it seems.
During the investigation she meets DS Moody who runs a secret department of the MET call UCIT that deal with supernatural occurrences. She feels at home there, as in her own personal life she sees the ghost of her dead mother.
Thank you, Harper Collins, and NetGalley for a copy of Sleep Tight. This is a good and a unique start of a new police procedural series. The characters were great especially Rose who although has a complicated personal life puts 100% into the job at hand. I liked the storyline. I just thought that the supernatural element was a bit hard to believe and a bit disappointed with the ending. But saying all that, I will look forward to seeing how this series develop in the future. 3.5 stars from me.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.D.C. Rose is called in to investigate the death of a woman who was suffocated in her sleep. When Rose gets there she finds that there is more to the case than she first thought.

I was attracted to this because I love any story which involves sleeping or dreaming. I was a little worried that this may go down the fantasy route but I am happy to say that it doesn't, it is most definitely crime with a touch of paranormal. I enjoyed the authors writing style and I enjoyed the story but I just don't think that I will remember anything about it in a few weeks time. I am however tempted to carry on with the series as I really like concept.

This was a crime thriller with a twist. The underlying supernatural aspect added an interesting and different aspect to the book.

Very interesting concept, I like a bit of supernatural in my thrillers. I am hoping this will be the first of a series. The only thing I didn't like was the final confrontation, which I found very confusing. Characters could definitely be developed in a follow up book, as they are interestly written.

What a book! Fantastic. Utterly enthralling, lobed the storyline and the way Rose’s character develops over the book. Unravelling her history and her depths. Cannot wait for book two. Highly recommend.

Finished this book yesterday, and I still cant help thinking about this book. Wow.
Green leads you on an adventure into the mind, where even your own bed isn't safe.
The story starts with a woman who is a parasomniac, and setting about getting ready for bed. Haunted by dreams of a man in a balaclava, who wakes her every morning at 3am, she follows her routine and goes to sleep, only to find herself killed in herself . DC Rose Gifford and her colleagues are brought into solve the case, and it becomes apparent that this isn't a usual case.
This is a novel to keep you thinking and wondering. And it isn't your usual ghost story either.

C S Green has taken a different route with this book. Unfortunately I can only give it 3 stars, even though the writing was good, as I was well over halfway through the book before I could even begin to care about Rose Gifford the main character. I know we have to learn about the characters' lives to care about them, but it seemed that random facts were just thrown out here and there about Rose's sad childhood and it confused rather than enlightened.
Rose is slowly coming to terms with the fact that she is "different", a fact she tried to keep hidden even though she sees things no-one else can see. This is book 1 of a series, so maybe book 2 will be clearer and more interesting. To be truthful I don't think I am interested enough to bother finding out.

Where to start? This book just gave me the chills, I can’t wait for more in the series. I found it to be totally gripping and I’m sure it will keep me up tonight ha! DC Rose Gifford is called to a number of deaths, of woman suffocated in their sleep, this is where the usual crime thriller stops, there’s more than meets the eye and I’m sure it will have you hooked just as it did me. Highly recommend.

Girls are being murdered in their sleep, How is the murderer getting into their homes?

This book will scare you, don't read it at night! The supernatural flair of this book had me hooked, and I am not usually a fan of this type of read. You will be hooked on the story.

Really enjoyed this book and it had some great twists. The story was a good crime story but with a very big difference which was so much fun to get involved in!

I was interested to see that this is the first in a series as our protagonist seems a very complex character and there is a lot to be unpicked and explored with DC Rose Gifford.

Parts of this book were shocking and frightening, particularly with the supernatural twist - I had no idea where it was going.

Young women are being seemingly murdered in their sleep but when the house is secure it cannot possibly make sense. This was an intriguing read and I look forward to more in the series.

This is the first book I have read of this genre. I have always steered away from supernatural books as I just didn’t feel I would be able to lose myself in them... well I was wrong! Having read many crime thrillers, this really gripped me and the supernatural aspect just gave it a brilliant spin on the norm. If you are in doubt about reading this as supernatural is not your thing... please give it a go, you may be like me and be a newly convert!

This is the first in a new series featuring DC Rose Gifford, who has got plenty of skills when it comes to policing, but more than others would expect. She and her team are called to look into the mysterious death of a woman suffocated in her bed, in a locked room, and it’s clear that Rose thinks there’s more to this case. Meanwhile, DS Moony, who runs a super secretive department in the Met feels that Rose has a lot to offer her team, but Rose resists. Should she? The team doesn’t have a lot of time to track down who’s responsible – and how they’re responsible… I enjoyed the ‘other’ element to this story, it’s something I haven’t read in any detective fiction/thrillers before and it adds a twist that makes the plot all the more enjoyable.

An utterly brilliant thriller that I devoured in one sitting, oh my word I am still thinking of this book. Kudos to the author for writing such a fantastic read.

A phenomenal read.
DC Rose Gifford is called to investigate the death of a young woman suffocated in her bed, she can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to the crime than meets the eye.It looks like a straightforward crime scene – but the police can’t find the killer. Enter DS Moody – an eccentric older detective who runs UCIT, a secret department of the Met set up to solve supernatural crimes. Moody wants Rose to help her out – but Rose doesn’t believe in any of that.Does she?
I inhaled this book. This book is Harper Collins best work published till date. It's characters were so mind blowing that they forced me to believe that I was watching a Netflix movie. Narration of the story was outstanding.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Harper Fiction for giving me an advance copy.
