An intriguing tale yet the MC was quite unlikeable which spoiled the story for me.
An OK read.

This book follows the story of Victoria - a matchmaker and Mark, who is a man in desperate need of a wife in order to access his trust fund. When he Enlists Victoria's help, she plans to set him up with her friend Tonya, however things quickly become complicated when Victoria realises she has feelings for Mark herself.

I really enjoyed this story and the way in which it was written. The characters are great and have their own life stories running alongside the romance that is obviously the main focus. The storyline was fast paced and full of heat and suspense. A really enjoyable read which I finished in one sitting.

The plus points are that it is fairly short.

Unfortunately the premise of the story is too far fetched for me with the heroine not believing in Love.
The characters were all a bit over the top as well.
This just was not for me overall.

Victoria is a famous professional matchmaker. She take pride in what she do and she make sure she give the best service to client. When her best friend Tonya asked for her service, she agreed to find one perfect man for her friend... but it turn out that she is attracted to him too. Mark is also looking for a woman to marry in order for him to get the trust money. He needed it for his mother’s treatment. When Victoria appeared into his life and have make clear fo him that she want nothing from him, he would have walk away but he is not. When the relationship between Tonya and Mark getting serious, Victoria questioning herself.

Overall is a good read for me. Love Victoria and her “logical” thinking and the internal conflict with herself. I love the ending of this story very much. Cant help shed some tears at the end too.

Cupid, she ain't.
Victoria is a matchmaker but she isn't a heart eyes, Cupid's arrow, star-crossed lovers variety. She is a straight up arranged marriage for money to money relationships. Rich parents come to her to marry off their daughter to someone that would be financially beneficial to their family. She doesn't believe in love, she believes that the only thing you need going into a marriage is common interests. Love can possibly come later as a bonus. Victoria has an extensive, very well researched list of eligible men. Research that proves beneficial if, after a few arranged meet-cutes with the Juliet and the targeted Romeo, things aren't moving fast enough, Victoria uses shady leverage over the man to get the proposal going. I think it's cold, callous, shallow, and kind of evil. Victoria sees nothing wrong with it and she has a perfect success rate. Finally she begins sees the light and realizes these matchings aren't right. But is it too late?

I really didn't like Victoria so that makes it hard to stay in the story. But I also felt like her character and her situations weren't written very consistently.
Many parts of the story were predictable, including the ending. There were many scenes that could be cut for content because they felt like unimportant filter yet there were other scenes that I felt needed to be expanded to get the point acrossed more clearly rather than just having to infer.
Eh, it was just sorta okay.

The Perfect Match is about a star matchmaker who gets it right most times because emotions are removed from the equation for lasting unions.Victoria deals with manipulative, controlling parents who wield their wealth like weapons to get the results they want from arranging matches for their children. She learns to handle difficult clients with poise and astuteness while striving for the best outcomes.Only this time she got it wrong and faces the conflict created by this situation ,endangering her friendship with Tonya and jeopardizing her business.Clouding the issue also is,one, the pursuit of money that causes more stress and overshadows the chemistry between Victoria and the object of her desire and two,the fact that Victoria has no time for love. She learns that love has no sense of time and when it happens ,we are powerless to resist. This book was brought to a satisfying close and is worth a second look.Thank you Netgalley for the privilege to preview and review this book without bias.

This novel was well written, I just was unable to connect with the heroine or her best friend. They seemed shallow and disingenuous.

The cover is gorgeous but I had a hard time warming up to the heroine in this book. Victoria is a matchmaker whose clients include rich parents looking for suitable matches for their daughters. Her business practices are cynical and manipulative at best and distinctly unethical at worst. She doesn't care if the people she matches actually want to be matched or if they are already in a relationship. She has a private detective spy on her potential matches, sneaks around, lies and pretends in order to create fake accidental introductions, and worse. Love is not important for her, she has other criteria for eligibility. Her current clients want to pay her to match their daughter Sylvia to a lawyer they've never met, which seems rather stupid to me. I would at least want to meet a guy once before committing my daughter to a life with him. Unsurprisingly, Sylvia thinks it's a rather cold arrangement, but Victoria attempts to convince her that love fades and it's more important to have a rich husband who can keep you in luxury.

Her friend Tonya wants Victoria to match her with a guy who can pay for her law school. Mark Dunham fits the bill, and Victoria visits the country club to meet him. By an amazing coincidence, Mark is just about the first person she comes across there, and they have dinner together. They bond over Monty Python and cancer charities. Unfortunately it looks like Mark is interested in Victoria, rather than Tonya. Victoria keeps telling him that it won't work. And you know what, I agree with her, I think it wouldn't work because there is so little honesty involved in their relationship, and because she does something shady to force his hand.

At one point of the book Mark's name changes from Dunham to Dawson. I read an ARC from Netgalley, it's possible this got edited in the final version.

It is a quick, easy, predictable read, and the writing style is pleasant. It's just too bad that the heroine is so difficult to like. Eventually she has a change of heart and realizes the error of her ways but at that point it was too late in the book for me to start caring about her love life.

Ugh, and there are two scenes of apparently unprotected sex without any discussion about the risks. This is a public service announcement: Please use condoms with a new partner. This will protect you from pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Thank you for your consideration.

I received a complimentary copy of The Perfect Match in exchange for an honest review. Besides this being an easy and quick read, there was very little story to tell. I never bought into Vicky's business of match making for the rich and entitled. It all seemed too staged and unrealistic to be believable. Also, I found a majority of the plot contained dialogue between a problematic client, Vicky, and Vicky's private investigator, when it should have been focusing on Mark and Vicky' developing relationship.

A matchmaker that doesn’t believe in love matches people based in credentials. She falls in love with one of her matches but continues to pursue the match. This is your typical romance. The book stumbles a few times. 2.75 rating.

A story about a matchmaker named Victoria has agreed to match her best friend Tonya up with an eligible bachelor. She has found Mark Dunham for her who needed to be married in order to touch his trust fund. While this is going on, she is working with a family that is wanting their daughter to be matched.
Once the story begins things begin to not work out for either her and her best friend and also her client and their daughter. Each has moments that are funny, especially the daughter whose name is Sylvia. She ends up with a total surprise. I did not like what she did with the Mark Dunham character I understand it is a story, but she also I thought at least cared for the person.
Everything gets worked out and in the end, there is a couple of twists that I did not see happening. Overall a good story with good characters.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me this opportunity to review this book.

I kinda love this book. Its about Victoria, a so-called matchmaker and Mark, a man in need of a wife in order to get access to his trust fund which Victoria planned was to matchmaker him with her friend, Tonya. Things get complicated when she, Victoria started to fall in love with Mark.

This is actually a roller-coaster reads for me. And I managed to finish this book in just one sitting. The author includes all the feelings that I want in one book. Definitely a big congrats to the author.

Thank you NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and Anita Lemke for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
I’m not going to lie, I came this close to not requesting this book on NetGalley. The book had been published in June and I already had a ridiculous amount of books to read, but the reviews for this one on Goodreads sold me! I am SO happy they did because this book was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading slump I’ve been fighting through.
It takes a special kind of author to be able to start a book and have me hooked from the beginning. Anita Lemke’s style of writing was so smooth and easy to read. There was the perfect blend of description and internal dialogue without the story ever feeling cluttered. The story was fast paced without feeling rushed (more on that later) and I actually really liked the two main characters together!
Victoria, Vicky to her friends, does NOT believe in love. So she chose the most logical career, she started her own matchmaking business. The only difference is she her clients are not marrying for love, they’re marrying for companionship and longevity. When Vicky lands a high end client she knows her until her career is at the make it or break it point. At the same time her best friend is desperate for a husband and asks Vicky for help. Between a difficult client and pleasing her friend, Vicky realizes she’s falling for the man she’s setting one of them up with. And he may be falling for her, too.
Did anyone else watch Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo back in the day? That’s exactly how I pictured this dynamic. There will be those who read this and don’t agree with some of the things Victoria does in her business, but I promise this story is worth sticking it out! I also was NOT a fan of how she handled her own personal feelings and drug others down with her. That was sloppy to the max but I have a feeling we’ll see that situation better resolved in book 2!
If you’re looking for a classic contemporary romance that will feed your need for drama and a feel good love story look no further!

2 STARS

This book has a premise that requires you to suspend your disbelief. Victoria is a matchmaker who doesn't believe in love and who matches couples based on family connections and wealth.

And then you have to suspend your disbelief again. Victoria sets up a marriage of convenience for her best friend and a man that she ends up meeting on a handful of different occasions. During those three or four meetings Victoria and this guy (Andy) exchange really surface conversations; "What do you do for a living", "I like to read and drink coffee", etc. At one point Andy kisses her and then, suddenly, they are both deeply in love with each other. Wait...what? So in love, in fact, that they are willing to destroy their entire personal lives, hurt friends, and cancel weddings to be together. Again...what??? It's just so unbelievable.

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I am a big fan of the matchmaker trope, and Anita Lemke's interpretation with The Perfect Match is quite engaging. I was so absorbed in the plot that I read it from cover to cover very quickly. This is the first book from The Perfect series and it can be read as a standalone.

Victoria Medrano is the matchmaker to the elite, with falling in love being a completely unnecessary, but nice byproduct of the process. She dreams of one day leading a luxurious life, much like the clients that hire her. Victoria's deviousness to get what she wants is inexcusable, which makes her character very unlikable towards the end of the story.

Mark Dunham is a really good guy, even though his reputation is less than stellar. He has accrued a ton of debt, due to his beloved mother's many medical bills. Luckily, his impending trust fund will do more than take care of his financial difficulties. However, he needs to get married in order to receive any of it. He ends up falling in love with Victoria, even though she has fixed him up with her best friend Tonya.

I really liked this book, however, Victoria's ruthless behavior was a bit hard to digest. I liked the secondary characters and their respective personalities were interesting. The next book in the series is about Tonya, and I am truly looking forward to reading it.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

It was fine. I finished the novel but I thought that the characters and the writing was on the 'meh' side. Victoria wasn't particularly appealing as a lead character.

What a roller-coaster! And by that I mean one so crazy you don't know if you're too sick or if you actually liked it. This book is really hard to review.

This is the story of Victoria, a so called matchmaker, and Mark, a man in need of a wife in order to get access to his trust fund. We have a matchmaker who doesn't believe in love and who actually arranges marriages for rich families, who ends up discovering love with the wrong guy, a man she tries to match with her best friend.

The story gets so complex and confusing, with each character having a different goal - it's as crazy as life itself! So many things and details seem so far fetched yet when you take a step back you realize they can easily happen in real life.

I didn't like all this drama, all the hidden agendas and mixed feelings. There was too much of this for my taste. The heroine even does a hurtful thing that has consequences for the hero, she is by no means perfect. Almost none of the characters are, they have their flaws but at times these don't make them more appealing, but more absurd in their ideas, like that scene before the wedding when the heroine asks herself how is it possible for her best friend not to want her attending?!

What is truly beautiful about this book, and where this writer excels is in the couple scenes, when they first meet, when they get to know each other, the dialogues are so vivid, fast paced and filled with sensual tension and truly happiness. You feel their connection in all its lovely glory. These make the book worth reading. It's the first time I read a book from this author and I will come back because I am sure there is more like this to come.

For this book my lack of more stars is due to the overall feeling, which was predominantly confusing, I didn't know what to believe, who really wants who and what. I understand what the author tried to create with this story, and while there some things that I personally didn't like, I think she succeeded. In the end love finds a way and a voice and they of course, live happily ever after.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

3.5 stars.

I really liked the premise of this. It was a super intriguing idea. The writing style was very enjoyable. I found the characters super likeable. I really loved the budding friendship and flirty banter between Mark and Vicky. I wish we had gotten some more about Vicky's past with Ricky to cause some more drama. It was rather predictable, both the main plot and the side plot with Slyvia but a lot of romances are. It was still enjoyable. I found scenes with Tonya quite uncomfortable to read. There were definitely elements of cheating emotionally in this that I didn't enjoy at all. I also wish we met Marks Mum and Dad.
Overall it was a decent and fun quick read but it lacked the depth to bring it to a 4-star read.
