Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas is an anthology of short stories set on or near Christmas. They range in subject matter and length, as well as settings. I read it over the last week, one or two stories before bed. Although it says 12 Days of Christmas, there were actually 13 stories. They are realistic and could happen to anyone, easily relatable. Some of the stories made me smile or giggle and they definitely helped get me into the Christmas Spirit. As with any anthology, I enjoyed some of them more than others. The characters are diverse, from different backgrounds and income brackets. Most of them have a message or something to make you think about your life and choices. I enjoyed this book and it is one that still has me thinking about the Christmas Season and my choices. This is one that I can see being put in someone's Christmas Stocking.

This collection of Christmas stories was very underwhelming and disappointing. For one thing, some of the stories didn't even include some kind of conflict and resolution so they were more snapshots of someone's life – a character rode her horse to a party and then... she went back. A driver sits on a picnic table at a gas station and thinks about life. An old lady can't cope on her own in her house and finally agrees to move.

I wasn't a fan of the writing and there were a lot of religious elements included in this book, which I don't enjoy reading about. The tone and the messages were overly sweet and cheesy. In an unexpected turn of events, the story I probably disliked the least involved a talkative kid and a grumpy man.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me and I won't be checking out other books by this author.

I am not always a huge fan of quick reads, because some of them just don't go into enough detail to grab my attention, or they stop abruptly without a proper ending which leave me disappointed.
This book had a selection of 13 different Christmas reads, all of which were all short.
And all of which were feel good Christmas reads that we all need at this time of year.
Some of these stories were pretty good, but there were a couple I didn't really enjoy at all because of the reasons mentioned before.
All in all, a quick easy read for over Christmas.

I was really disappointed with this collection of so-called short stories. Yes, they were short and quick and set around Christmas time but, sadly, they weren't stories. There were no beginnings, middles and ends, let alone any satisfying endings. Competently written, but not really stories. More slices of life and some of it quite dull and boring. Sorry.

I won't be sharing this review publicly.

Cute short stories about Christmas with all the feels. The book can be read in approximately 30 minutes. Linda Mansfield did a good job in making the stories warm and Christmassy. If you are looking for that Christmas feeling but don’t have a lot of time to read, this is the book for you.

These stories were the typical feel good thing that I needed during this stressful holiday season. The characters in each story were easy to like and the there weren't elaborate plots, just feel good stories.

Nice collection of stories for when a full book doesn't seem achievable. All were easy to read and enjoyable

I enjoyed this, perfect for when you want to read something but not a whole book. Great stories.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley! I loved all the stories in this compilation. I can’t wait to read several of them over Christmas break.

This was a really lovely collection of Christmassy stories.
I really liked that the stories had morals to them.
I think that this a Christmas book that I could pick up year after year for some small short reads. It has really helped me get into the festive spirit

A very quick Christmas read. This book is a collection of short stories, each set at Christmas time. Each story is short enough to read in less than 10 minutes. If you’re in the mood for reading something Christmassy but a bit short on time, thus collection can be picked up and put down between stories, or it can be read all in one sitting if you have a little extra time.

All the stories are different but most have to do with the importance of family and most of them have a religious element.

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

A relatively cute collection of very short christmas stories. Sadly I didn't find any that really did anything for me. Perfect as a quick read to get you in the mood for more christmas reading perhaps, but not my favourite.

Big thank you regardless to BooksGoSocial on netgalley for providing my copy!

The stories were short , but still very enjoyable. I love Christmas stories especially at this time of the year, go out and grab this one and see for your self.

Perfect book to read during the Christmas period, especially during this time of Covid where outings are limited. The stories are warm and each one can be devoured in one sitting.

This was a very average collection for me personally, I can't really remember any of the stories, they were very short so it was hard to connect with any of them.

This was a disappointing book, the stories didn't all have reassuring endings and they were quite simplistic. I expected festive tales to warm your heart at this time of the year but sadly this didn't happen. They were all a tad too short and the characters were quite one dimensional. The themes of each could have been explored more fully whether dealing with the death of a close family member, lonliness or a feeling of being let down. They needed more depth to them and a longer conclusion.

The story lines are creative. The writing is excellent with lots of detail. There is something to be learned from each episode.

My favorite is the treehouse and the butterfly. It may have been the father and son doing a project together that especially appealed to me.

These stories are real. No fantasy characters. Some are sad but most are happy. The stories are short and memorable.

BooksGoSocial and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published so you can get a copy now.

This isn't a feel good book, things don't magically happen, but it sounds like some of the Christmases I've been at.

I liked the one that featured a horse, and several others. Give it a try, you'll find some that you can relate to, I'm sure.

Lovely short stories with the warmth of Christmas and a moral. The author stated that she wished these stories would help during the stress of preparing for Christmas. I think they definitely would do just that, since I did read this during a somewhat stressful time and it did lighten my mood.

I absolutely recommend this book. I also think it would be a unique Christmas gift.

I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for giving me the pleasure of reading the advanced reader copy. My review is own opinion not influenced by receiving the ARC and not under a obligation to review.
