Description

Take a break!

In "Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas," Linda Mansfield encourages you to find a little "me time" over the Christmas holidays to relax, put your feet up, and immerse yourself in some modern Christmas stories.

They're all short, so you can fit them into your busy schedule.

They're also realistic. No talking reindeer, dancing snowmen, or elves were allowed. There's no partridge either.

"Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas" is an ideal Christmas gift for both men and women, ages teens through seniors. In this baker's dozen, six of the stories have male main characters and seven stories have women main characters.

This book can help you get your shopping done! The hard cover makes a perfect Christmas gift, and the paperback is great as a stocking stuffer.

Like your favorite Christmas memories, some of these stories may make you smile. They also might help you get into the Christmas spirit, remind you of the real reason for the season, and become a part of your Christmas traditions.

P.S.: "Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas" is the first book in the "Two Good Feet" series. "Twelve Stories for Spring," "Twelve Stories for Summer" and "Twelve Stories for Fall" follow. All can be read individually or as a set.

Thank you NetGalley, Linda Mansfield and BooksGoSocial for Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas.
This is my personal review in exchange.
This was a great book to have while I was waiting to go to appointments- picking up car side delivery groceries and other times I had a few minutes to just relax.
Each story was centered around Christmas. As I read each story it made me appreciate life and all that is in it with everything upside down right now, I needed this book.

This is a nice collections of short stories for the holiday season. They are designed to stand alone so if you want something short to read before bedtime this is the book for you. Don't get me wrong the book can easily be read in one sitting as well. These stories are realistic and heartwarming. A couple are a little sad and some will make you remember some memories from your past. It's a nice collection to add to your holiday reading stack.

I received an ARC from BooksGoSocial through NetGalley for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book. They were short stories, well told, and had some really nice messages. I wish I could give you examples but I can't so what I can say is this book impressed me because Linda Mansfield shared stories where someone made a mistake and the way she wrote the story was so different. If you don't get along with your neighbor she gives great insight.
This is the author's first book and I really enjoyed all that she gave us in her stories. Hope she writes more. This book can be read at any time. It was such a nice book.

What is more perfect than a collection of 12 Christmas stories for the holiday season! These stories were nicely put together and easy to read, and really added to my Christmas feel. I think I would read these again next year, around the holiday season, but they and this book are perfect!

Very cute stories. They are really good to read on the go. I enjoyed all 12 of the stories. And they are also very different, which is nice.

Lovely short stories with the warmth of Christmas and a moral. The author stated that she wished these stories would help during the stress of preparing for Christmas. I think they definitely would do just that, since I did read this during a somewhat stressful time and it did lighten my mood.

I absolutely recommend this book. I also think it would be a unique Christmas gift.

I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for giving me the pleasure of reading the advanced reader copy. My review is own opinion not influenced by receiving the ARC and not under a obligation to review.

These stories are real. No fantasy characters. Some are sad but most are happy. The stories are short and memorable.

BooksGoSocial and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published so you can get a copy now.

This isn't a feel good book, things don't magically happen, but it sounds like some of the Christmases I've been at.

I liked the one that featured a horse, and several others. Give it a try, you'll find some that you can relate to, I'm sure.

The story lines are creative. The writing is excellent with lots of detail. There is something to be learned from each episode.

My favorite is the treehouse and the butterfly. It may have been the father and son doing a project together that especially appealed to me.

Perfect book to read during the Christmas period, especially during this time of Covid where outings are limited. The stories are warm and each one can be devoured in one sitting.

The stories were short , but still very enjoyable. I love Christmas stories especially at this time of the year, go out and grab this one and see for your self.

Thank you NetGalley! I loved all the stories in this compilation. I can’t wait to read several of them over Christmas break.

I enjoyed this, perfect for when you want to read something but not a whole book. Great stories.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

Nice collection of stories for when a full book doesn't seem achievable. All were easy to read and enjoyable

These stories were the typical feel good thing that I needed during this stressful holiday season. The characters in each story were easy to like and the there weren't elaborate plots, just feel good stories.

Cute short stories about Christmas with all the feels. The book can be read in approximately 30 minutes. Linda Mansfield did a good job in making the stories warm and Christmassy. If you are looking for that Christmas feeling but don’t have a lot of time to read, this is the book for you.

This collection of Christmas stories was very underwhelming and disappointing. For one thing, some of the stories didn't even include some kind of conflict and resolution so they were more snapshots of someone's life – a character rode her horse to a party and then... she went back. A driver sits on a picnic table at a gas station and thinks about life. An old lady can't cope on her own in her house and finally agrees to move.

I wasn't a fan of the writing and there were a lot of religious elements included in this book, which I don't enjoy reading about. The tone and the messages were overly sweet and cheesy. In an unexpected turn of events, the story I probably disliked the least involved a talkative kid and a grumpy man.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me and I won't be checking out other books by this author.

Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas is an anthology of short stories set on or near Christmas. They range in subject matter and length, as well as settings. I read it over the last week, one or two stories before bed. Although it says 12 Days of Christmas, there were actually 13 stories. They are realistic and could happen to anyone, easily relatable. Some of the stories made me smile or giggle and they definitely helped get me into the Christmas Spirit. As with any anthology, I enjoyed some of them more than others. The characters are diverse, from different backgrounds and income brackets. Most of them have a message or something to make you think about your life and choices. I enjoyed this book and it is one that still has me thinking about the Christmas Season and my choices. This is one that I can see being put in someone's Christmas Stocking.
