Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

I know this book is intended for children, but even as an adult I found myself really enjoying this book and discovering things I didn't even know about.

Facts, records and just interesting bits of information about so many different things in our planet completed with smooth and lovely illustrations, made this book a truly enjoyable read. I even had my father read it as well, and even he discovered things he never knew about, and he's 62!

It was quite an adventure of knowledge to read this book, and I think both children and adults can appreciate this book and its format.

I recommend it if you want to know a little bit more about the world and share that knowledge with others, younger or older.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read this book in exchange for my opinion and honest review.

Wow! This book is fabulous! I can't wait to get a copy on the shelves in my library as I know it will be borrowed over and over. Stunning illustrations packed full of random quirky facts. Who would have thought that 'Loudest Land Animals: Peru' or 'Most Deadly Tree: Bahamas' - to name but a few(!) would be so interesting. I know that this will be a popular book. It is accessible and attractive - brilliant for reluctant readers. Buy it: enjoy it!!

This book truly is breathtaking. A wonderful collection of record breaking adventures presented beautifully. The book has information from the deepest underground city to the highest river and fastest animal. I really like the way the book is presented, starting with a world map and divided into continents.
It's very accessible, with short facts throughout.
This book would be a great addition to any home/classroom and will be a huge hit with any non-fiction fan.
