Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for a review.

I've been in a mood to change up the type of books I read and this seemed like a different one! I drink coffee/tea every day so I thought, why not!
Many of the tips in here are pretty easy to implement; a lot of it was affirmations, so not for everyone.
For those that look for constant ways to keep things positive to find those silver lining in everything, this is easy to do.

The author was relatable and this was an easy quick read.

This book talks about positive self-affirmations and how to make a daily habit of them by combining them with your morning coffee. The idea is that the way we speak to ourselves, aloud or in our thoughts, may be a self-fulfilling prophecy and it makes sense to rewire our brains to think positive thoughts instead of complaints and negative predictions that may self-sabotage us. You don't have to believe that you're happy or love your tasks yet, you can still tell yourself that you are, and focusing on the thought will trigger more positive emotions. While I don't necessarily believe that you will become a millionaire by telling yourself that you're a millionaire it makes perfect sense that you can become calmer, more relaxed, more joyful or more productive by switching into a more positive mindframe. If you want to make specific changes in your life you could make them part of your self-talk. You could combine the self-affirmations with pleasant pictures or music to enhance the effect and use technology such as audio recordings or automated daily reminders to bring you back to the positive mental state. Find something to be grateful for and stop following negative nellies on social media.

I did not actually start doing the author's coffee self-talk ritual but the book was a useful reminder of the importance of the thoughts and beliefs we feed our brains. If we tell ourselves we can't do something it often becomes true. I received a netgalley copy and this is a voluntary review.

Positive self-talk is something that I try to do but it's not always easy to remember to fit it into your day. I like the idea of taking time to implement this ritual into your normal everyday activities, like when drinking your coffee. I have been using this method now, though with my cup of tea, nearly every day and it has been working for me. Since I have a cup of tea every day, it's an easy reminder to take that small bit of time for myself. There is good advice in this book and positive affirmations and it's a highly recommended read for those that need a bit of self love.

While I found this book helpful and insightful, I also found it repetitive. Overall, it is still worth a read because it offers great insight into self-talk and creating good habits.

Although I did enjoy reading this book and using some of the affirmation there was not much information that was new. The author just put her own spin on it..like I said I did enjoy it as the writing was upbeat and you could tell that there was real passion behind the words written.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I found this book to be very useful in starting a daily time frame for positive self-talk and affirmations. I had previously learned about affirmations and starting utilizing them but fell out of practice so this book was a good way to start implementing it back in. I love all the examples that Kristen provided in the book as well.

I really enjoyed this book. Easy to read and uncomplicated, it doesn’t necessarily contain any revolutionary ideas but it does lend itself nicely to encouraging busy people to incorporate just a few minutes of positive thinking, affirmation and mindfulness. I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

A very pretty cover and a super lovely idea. For me it was a little basic but I already practice a lot.
However what I will say is that this is perfect for the perfect audience and that is someone new to mindfulness and affirmatios.

I really enjoyed it and if I had read this years ago it would have been the perfect introduction so this book is definitely a great read for beginners

This book is a positive way to start improving your self-talk. The prompts are brief, yet thoughtful and are laid out in a way that flows easily to the reader.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this book.
At first I looked at it very skeptically, because I already had lost hope to find a self-help book, that can actually help. Usually books like this tells what you have to change, but doesn’t tell you how. But guess what, if we seek self-help books it means we already know what we want to change, we just need to know how. And FINALLY I found this book. It goes in detail, step by small step of how you should change your negative thinking to a positive one.
I loved, that there was so many scientific examples of how your brain works, that it made this book even more believable. Finally I feel inspired to do something about myself.

The only small thing, that stopped me from giving it 5 stars was, that sometimes it was a little bit repetitive.

I don't know much about affirmations, but I do know what I expected from this book and that is exactly what I got. It is cute and fun to read and I did enjoy it, but it is no better than any other self help I've read before.

I love coffee and when we could really spend time in a coffee shop this would be a great book to ,just spend some quiet time and contemplate yourself and where you would like to go further in your life and anecdotes' to assist you. Nice little book.

This was such a great book. I have a great morning routine and feel like it has been amped up thanks to the advice found here. I had not previously used self talk in my routine and have found it to be incredibly valuable!

Okay. 2.5 rounded up to 3 stars.

Its not like it wasn't bad. It just wasn't new.

Self talk, affirmations, positive self reflection, gratitude, we've all heard of this in different ways, the way that Kristen Helmstetter set hers apart is with her "coffee talk" method. Basically, use 5-20 minutes in your day to practice talking yourself up, aka self talk, and why not do this while drinking your morning coffee?
It seems very simple. And maybe I'm just bitter and stuck in my negative ways and actually need this self talk more...but it also seems like well "no shit, I have to talk good things about myself and my surroundings in order to bring good things and feel good about myself."

I don't know. I think the repetitiveness of reading coffee and self talk throughout the book about a million times got to me.

Also, it felt like the chapters repeated themselves continually, with only changing just a little bit. Like I got it. But then again, I guess repetition is part of the whole process- the more you hear/read/write something- the more it sticks... so i guess kudos??

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the digital advance reading copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book; I like the idea of being able to affect your life by speaking positively to yourself while drinking coffee. I like that Kristen talks about the work her father-in-law completed in the self-talk area.

I also like that Kristen incorporates other self-help techniques like "stacking" to make her coffee self-talk more impactful. I will have to develop my own self-talk script and give this a try while drinking my morning tea.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I am not a coffee drinker, but I do like tea. So I had tea while I was reading this book to see if there were a few things I could hold on to, to help change my life. There are a few tips from this book that I will being keeping in my journal to add a bit of excitement and a new way of thing. It only takes a few minutes out of the day. Once could do this while having their morning coffee or tea. I enjoy that it is simple things and I can do it in whatever spare moments I have. It makes me feel like I have done something good for me each day.

Starting your day with coffee and personal affirmations is a fabulous way to change your life. But you don’t have to be a coffee drinker to enjoy this book. Stating your day with positive self-talk is a proven way to change your life. I love how she explains those benefits, along with ideas on affirmations, all while sharing her own life and how it helped her. Definitely a book to go to when you need encouragement. She offers many scripts for self-talk and affirmations on many different themes, such as health, wealth, or finding your mate. I love this book and all the ideas it gives me, the feeling it gives me as I work to improve my positive self-talk. A book I'll probably look at daily, at least until positive self-talk becomes a great habit. Highly recommended.
