Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

If you follow Laura Thomas on social media then you'll know just how great Laura's work is. This book is no exception. It is another fantastic, inspiring and encouraging book for anyone who struggles with food, eating and the thoughts that surround them both.

this was super interesting and fascinating and some great advice sadly personally as a neurodivergent person a lot of the exercises and advice just would not work, so won't be reviewing it.

This book has changed how I look at food, at life, dieting and myself. I have followed Laura for awhile on IG so I knew bits of her ideology for food, but not in depth. I haven’t read her first book, but will definitely be going to pick it up now for further reading. This is a book you work through at your own pace and so I’d suggest definitely having a pad and pen next to you for ideas, tips . If you want a better relationship with food this is the place to begin

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a non fiction book all about intuitive eating. It encourages you to not feel guilty about what you are eating. There are lots of exercises to do and things to reflect on. I read this from cover to cover for the purpose of this review but it is really a book that you need to take your time over, do the exercises and redefine your relationship with food.

Laura's first book COMPLETELYchanged the way I looked at food and set me on a new, healing path. It now sits on my bookshelf with post-its popping out all over. I constantly refer to it when I need a boost.
I would say that this book is the 'light' version, in some ways, but equally as good. It is the practical help that some folk might find that they couldn't find in the first book. Personally, I diligently did most of the exercises in 'Just Eat it' and therefore some of what was in this title wasn't new to me. However, it was good to revisit what I'd done previously and see how much I'd moved on.
I'd say that if you like things meaty and love the theory behind the methods, Just Eat it could be your first port of call and you may find that sufficient. If you are practical and want to just get on with it, then this book is probably better for you. I'm glad I have both.
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC to review.

A brilliant book for all those of us who have ever dieted or even thought about it. For everyone who has felt guilt at eating ice-cream - or guilt about the guilt! A fantastic work-at-your-own pace workbook that helps heal one's relationship with food, eating and dieting. Not a book that you will read through in an evening and be improved but one to dip into and work through - making sure you are in the right headspace to do so. If you're feeling the pressure of dieting - especially this January and the many many "lose the quarantine fat" ads around the place then pick up this and work through it. Just make sure you have a spare notebook or digital space to work through it.

Have you read/heard about Intuitive Eating, escaping diet culture and breaking-up with your bad relationship with food but found that you couldn't find the nitty-gritty of how to do it? THIS is the book you have been waiting for. Finally, a guide to "How to Just Eat it". This comprehensive work-book gives you a huge number of well researched, realistic and achievable strategies and tools to help you to build a better relationship with food and to love the body you are in.
Laura Thomas is an expert in her field and her honest and realistic writing style is really appealing. The work-book has a lovely thread of kindness, urging us to "take your time" with the activities. This one should not be rushed. I'm so glad this book exists.
