This graphic novel is just so sweet, feel-good, and wholesome! If you’re a fan of K. O’Neill’s Tea Dragon series, I think you’ll really like this one as well! I'd also recommend this to anyone who's a fan of gardening, fae creatures, cottage-core, or just magical little feel-good stories in general.
Sprites have stopped helping out in gardens since humans started tending them, but when Wisteria comes to a new neighborhood she decides to start helping out in a nearby garden that’s fallen into disrepair unbeknownst to the human gardener it belongs to.
The art is so sweet, soft, and charming, and the story felt like it wrapped me in a warm hug! As a gardener myself, the concept and art really felt so personal and beautiful. It was a little short and simple, but I can definitely see this being an introduction to a larger story to come, and it truly was an uplifting little tale about friendship and working together!

So cute, loved this adorable and vivid tale!! I loved this book, from its cover to the storyline and the lovable characters

Once upon a time, fairies tended to the garden. Nowadays, they don't really know what to do - until a new fairy in town shakes things up.
This was so cute, adorable and calming. The colour palette is made up of very soft tones, very pastel, and the illustrations are very detailed but still not overwhelming. I love how different each fairy looks, even the littlest side character has their own thing going on.
Very positive story, was fun to read and I'm sure I'll come back to this in the future.

LOOK👏🏽 AT👏🏽 THAT👏🏽 PRETTY 👏🏽COVER!👏🏽
Wisteria & her sprite friends are so cute, this little story is so adorable, the art style is absolutely delightful, I want more, please!
I'm a sucker for amazing graphics and then I'm a sucker for supporting debut artists- mix them- & boom!
As I finished this, I immediately headed to Twitter to look up those artists- and now I'm head over heels in love with everything that Rii has put into existence.

the sprite and the gardener is an absolute joy!!
it's something of a fairytale. we are introduced to the colorful fairy sprites who used to be the sole caretakers of earth's plants, but who have become inactive now that humans are gardeners. the story follows one particular sprite, wisteria, who wants to work alongside humans and tend the flora together.
the art here is absolutely beautiful. it seems to be inspired by classic fairytale art, except the sprites have diversity!! their dynamic facial expressions are wonderful, and vibrant colors bring both the characters and the plants to life.
definitely a quick read, but i smiled and chuckled throughout. it's a nice meditation on the elation that comes with bringing joy to others.
what could be better than friendships that bloom over the love and care of plants??
Thank you to Netgalley and Oni Press for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was just SO lovely.
If you like good and tender stories with beautiful art, you must have to read this.
All the art and the characters were just precious, I'm literally speechless.
Please, give an opportunity to this beauty.

Brilliant illustrations!!!
I really enjoyed reading this one!
I was provided an advanced digital copy of the book from the publisher via Netgalley for review purposes, all opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and Oni Press for providing me this arc exchange with my honest review!
This is the bookish equivalent of the feeling of being wrapped in a cozy blanket!!
It's not super exciting or like the books that have a "Wow!" effect but it made me feel at home with its lovely story of friendship, helping each other, and the value of working hard for something precious. Also, I especially love how the characters look like the plants they namesake. They all look so adorable! And besides that, it's a story that can readers from all age ranges can enjoy or English level in my case. Because English is not my native lang and even if I can read almost anything easily, my little brother (11yo) cannot. So, I want him to improve his self-confidence by reading this kind of shorter book and I think it will be perfect for him too.
My only complaint about this book is that it's too short!! Oh, and even if its color palette is so calming with all that pastel colors, pink is not my fav, so I felt as if I'm drowning in pink a little bit. But it's more like an "It's not about you, it's about me," kinda situation

I received an arc copy of this book from Oni Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This beautiful graphic novel follows an eager sprite’s wish to grow gorgeous flowers while making friends along the way. It’s such a heartwarming story which is perfect for anyone looking to break away from the mundanity of everyday life and learn to see the beauty within it.
I fell in love with the art style, which is not uncommon for the artists work. The colour palette, art style and the composition of the panels kept me engaged and added a great deal to the story. This was particularly important as the story is very much character centric, as opposed to plot based. Although I usually prefer a more developed, faster storyline, the cuteness and the calm tone kept me interested.
We see a little character development with our protagonist and the gardener, however I wish the side characters had been a little more fleshed out. In saying this, I did see personalities form across this volume which was great.
I hope a sequel is in the works as I will definitely be picking it up, mostly to see the artwork and in hopes of seeing an extension of the plot. I would highly recommend this novel to both fans of graphic novels or those new to the format. I gave Sprite and the Gardener 4.5/5 stars.

A magical story brimming with such sweetness—a whimsical narrative about what the world could be.
From the beginning of the Sprite and the Gardener, I was thoroughly enthralled and bewitched. It was as if a spell was cast upon me the moment I turned from the first page and onwards. The illustrations were beyond any of my wildest dreams, as it draws your eyes in with its playfulness and beauty. Even the slightest of linearts, and the smallest of details was enough to render me speechless. The colours were also brilliant, the melody of the chosen palette flowed effortlessly well—a masterful song uninterrupted. The character designs were unique, each and every character representing individuals from the margins. People who grew up, and are still growing up not seeing themselves in the media—they are here in this book. Here, they have a voice.
Wisteria is the kind of protagonist your heart yearns to protect—a person you want to be. She is the epitome of wholesomeness. She sets her eyes on her dreams, to help with her kind heart, and knows deep inside, that the world has so much potential and could be so much more. She is adorable and honestly—I could not stop grinning at the sheer cuteness that is her character. Meanwhile, Elena is another person who just warms your soul. Her love for her mother pushed her to pick up gardening, and she was willing to do anything to achieve that. Whilst her mother’s love for gardening might be the origin of her motivation, it then turns out that Elena would find a newfound love for gardening for herself.
All in all, this book was not only a wonderful escape into a new world—but it is also a reminder, that even in a world full of darkness, of pain and of loss—there is still room for sweetness—a gentle reminder that there is still room for change.

Sprite and the Gardener is an adorable book about nature, gardening and community. The art is beautiful and the story simple but uplifting. The back cover has a blurb from the author of the Tea Dragon Society, and I’d recommend it to fans of the series, as the relaxed pacing, nature based stories and message of craftsmanship and teamwork are similar.
This comic would be a lovely gift for a gardener or any witchy types in your life.

Super cute, I needed this! Beautiful art, lovely friendships, and two lonely people becoming friends and learning how to interact with the people around them as well. There’s not a complicated story here but what is in the comic is wonderful nonetheless! I would happily read more.

Sprite and the Gardener is a cute little story about a sprite named Wisteria. In the old days, sprites used to care for gardens themselves, but once humans moved in, they took over. Wisteria stumbles upon a garden who is in need of help and starts to help it flourish, all for the young gardener Elena.
This is a short little story with beautiful, delicate drawings that really transport you into this world. The flowers are drawn beautifully, and all the sprites are so cute and unique!! They all have plant names and a diverse range of shapes, skin colors and talents. And the same with the humans! This story is ultimately about how, to create something beautiful, you don't always need to work alone. I love this moral and think it's one that we deserve to hear more.
Ultimately, if you want to see some gorgeous artwork and read a nice little heartwarming story, I really recommend Sprite and the Gardener!

The Sprite and the gardener is a bite sized graphic novel that is short on pages but high in positivity and the importance of helping each other. I loved the illustrations, they are detatlied incredibly coloured and full of whimsy.
This book emphasises asking your friends for help when things get to difficult to manage alone and in these trying times this is such an important thing to remember. Though a quick read, this sacrine story is full of feelings, from wanting to fit in with your friends, to having to admit you can't do it all alone.
Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to read this graphic novel.

Sprite and the Gardener is a cute story about fairies and how they help plants grow and thrive. I loved the artwork and the story was a cute tale. The artwork is one of the highlights of the story having vivid color, and colors for each character that corresponded with the fairies name. The drawing style is also, unique and cute adding to the stories atmosphere. Overall found this story to be great.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts!
When I saw Katie O'Neill, my favorite author for feel-good graphic novels talking about this one, I already knew I was in for a treat. Oh boy, was I right!
Sprite and the Gardener is an incredibly strong debut graphic novel. The art style is absolutely gorgeous - soft colours, intricate character design, beautiful illustrations. Just looking at the pages will make you feel a rush of dopamine, and I'll definitely come back to this one when I need a little pick me up.
The story follows Wisteria, a sprite, who tries to find her place in a new community that she recently moved to, while also reviving the past of her kind and building connections with other sprites and humans alike. It was a very sweet tale of friendship and co-existence, a treat for your heart and soul!

Ugh, this is the sweetest graphic novel. I love that there's hardly any conflict and that it focuses on 'basic' concepts that adults could still use a refresher on (teamwork, cooperation, etc.) The art is beautiful, and the messages are so wholesome and deep too. I saw that Kay O'Neill (creator of The Tea Dragon Society) blurbed this, and I'd compare this to their work very much in some ways. It's just a little less epic and a little more quotidian, but in the best possible way. Can't wait to pick up a hard copy in May!

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.
Sprite and The Gardener is so incredibly cute. This story is about a sprite named Wysteria who is kind and curious as she explores the world. Wysteria finds herself using powers to heal and bring life to flowers in order to both help and impress a gardener... It doesn't exactly go to plan but it shows just how friendships can blossom.
The art is beautiful, the story is sweet and I want to read it all over again.
Rating: 5⭐

I adored the art style of this graphic novel, and the colour scheme was stunning. The story was cute, but there really wasn’t a lot of plot and I would’ve preferred for the novel to be a bit longer.
