An excellent recipe book with lots of choice to cook nutritious meals on the hob.
There are photos of each recipe, so you can see what you are aiming for, which I always prefer. as the photos at least give you a better idea of the outcome.

A great selection of eighty easy to prepare meals. Very useful for busy families on a budget. There is advice at the beginning on using meal plans, kitchen kit and useful store cupboard ingredients. Each recipe includes a photo, how many it feeds and cooking time. Lots of tempting. recipes, both savoury and sweet. As someone with chronic pain I can see this being my new go to cook book. Bending down to the oven is often painful and having a cookbook full of recipes I can make on the hob is brilliant.
I also loved the list of "store cupboard favourites", I have definitely taken alot of inspiration from this book.

I have cooked the jambalaya from this book twice now and I think its fair to say its become a family favourite!

A simple but useful cook book . These are very easy recipes with many home-based alternatives to takeaways and some nice cheats such as the lasagne (ish) recipe to help save time and mess.

A fun collection of recipes that are easy to follow, with a good selection of different recipes to try. Would definitely recommend to those who are starting to embrace cooking or looking for easy recipes.

I'm not much of a cook and hate washing up which made this cookbook an ideal read. It's full of recipes I want to try and are accessible for all. I like the idea it is for hob based meals making it a perfect addition to a students bookshelf when they go to uni.

Sound seriously great ideas!

In my house we are all about cooking, we will tend to make dinner for our family and friends over heading out to a restaurant so I am always in search of fun, unique recipes and Amy Sheppard delivered the yum!!

I was instantly hungry on my first flick through the book, the digital format isn't the best when it comes to cookbooks as it's hard to refind recipes and find the sections you are after so I would 100% recommend this as a physical book.

I was really surprised at how easy a lot of the recipes were and there is room to swap and add in things if you fancy say extra vegetables etc. Everything was hearty and wholesome, I would recommend Creamy Harissa Penne, Leftover Roast Chicken & Stuffing Soap (a great winter one!), S'mores' Hash, Sausage and Leek Ragù and the Sweet Potatao, Goats Chesse and Onion Naan Bread! Looking forward to testing out some more recipes.

What a great book! Embracing using only one heat source to cook not only saves you time and effort, but has benefits for the environment in reducing our carbon footprint. Why use the oven, grill and hob when you can cook delicious food using just the stovetop?

I wouldn’t say any of the recipes here are completely groundbreaking, but the book definitely makes you look at a pan in a different light! The breakdown of categories makes it really easy to find something suitable for any situation, and the quality photographs certainly help to encourage you to give things a go.

This book would be a perfect gift for someone moving into student accommodation, or even setting up in their first home. The writing style is clear and there aren’t too many fiddly techniques.

An all-round great addition to my shelf of cook books.

I really thought this book would be different. Cook on the hob? No oven? Wow, how revolutionary. What? I've been doing this for years. I only use the oven for baking, so none of this was new.

As a vegetarian I was hoping for some innovative recipes. What do I get? The same old same old.

A huge disappointment.

As others have probably already said, this is a cookbook that everyone needs. It's become a staple cookbook in my home. Lots of great recipes where you don't need loads of ingredients that you will only use once and then leave in cupboard. Passed on some of the recipes to my student son, who has impressed his housemates!

Hob; A simpler way to cook - 80 stove-top recipes for everyone by Amy Sheppard has lots of good looking recipes, goes through the items you need in both kitchen kit and also pantry items.

There are photos of each recipe, so you can see what you are aiming for, which I always prefer.

Hob  was published on 10th June 2021 and is available from  Amazon ,  Waterstones  and  Bookshop.org .

You can follow Amy Sheppard on Instagram and  Facebook .

I was given access to this book in exchange an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to  Bloomsbury Publishing .

As a reasonably proficient cook, anything that makes the process easier is very welcome by me, so this book of easy to produce one-pot (occasionally two) meals from Amy Sheppard has given me plenty to consider.

I like the idea of using the oven less and having more control over the cooking process, as well as trying out some new recipes and saving time - important for me as I have a busy job.

The book is well laid out with plenty of illustrations and explanations from Amy, including some swap-outs and tips along the way. I particularly like the mix of meat and veggie dishes, so there is something for all palates, and a dessert section from which the chocolate brownies will definitely be on the to-make list!

For anyone who has a young family, active lifestyle, busy job, or a combination of all three, this book definitely needs to be on your kitchen shelf. The included meal planner templates are also very welcome and can be tweaked to suit your own needs.

I was sent an advance review copy of this book by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, in return for an honest appraisal.

This is a great cookbook. None of the recipes seem to involve too much faff or hard to source ingredients. I look forward to trying some of the recipes, especially the cheesy croissants!
