A slave on the run, a mysterious tattoo, a young man embarks on a journey of personal discovery from slave to warrior. In this instance, Roman slave Sextus finds his true destiny as a Frankish (Germanic) hero (Galdir).
Well written and well researched, rich in detail, and told from a non-Roman perspective.
The premise reminded me of "Spartacus" or event more recently, "Gladiator".
