Oh wasn’t this just a perfect Christmas read! 😍 I got serious The Princess Switch vibes from this one, a baking challenge and people swap places, had to be! But it wasn’t too close to it that it annoyed me, I really loved this book! Plus, I also had serious The Parent Trap vibes and that’s one of my all time favourite films so bonus points for that!

I love a dual narrative story, and getting into both Charlie and Cass’ minds was amazing! I loved that they were so similar yet so different at the same time. And the supporting characters in this were also fab, I could’ve be the only one who loved to hate Austin right? And our love interests, god I loved Miguel and Jake!

The ending is everything I wanted in an ending for a book like this, it was pure cheese and I am all here for that! 👏🏼 It was so perfect for this book and their characters, I won’t lie, i welled up at the end! It was like a Hallmark Christmas film wrapped up in 352 pages, just what I want at Christmas time!

A very cute book with a very strong Hallmark vibe. It would make a great movie!
I loved the descriptions of all the sweet treats and the whole festive feel of the book.

They found freedom to be themselves while they were pretending to be each other. It was very wholesome with great lessons learnt by both women.

this one was a mixed bag for me. So many times it had me rolling my eyes as I just don’t believe close friends wouldn’t know the difference between the twins, the same way I don’t understand how no one recognises Clark Kent as superman just because he has glasses… anyway I digress! The first half of the book didn’t feel that festive but the second half really picked up for me, there was festivities galore and I ended up really enjoying it, including the super cheesy happy ending!

I liked the premise but I just found this one a chore unfortunately. I didn't get on with the flow at all, it somehow felt both rushed and slow at the same time which was irritating.

Insta live isn't my jam which ribble didn't help. But both sisters, and the constantly lying just would me right up. I did manage to finish the boo, but I found it tedious and quite frankly forgettable.

What a beautiful story! I have devoured this book, the story took us on a journey with the twin sisters Cass and Charlie Goodwin, one in LA living the High life, on TV, great career, and then the other living in their sleepy, picturesque hometown.
The story takes place just before Christmas when disaster strikes for both in different ways.
This has a bit of everything. I wasn't sure which way things were going to go and I was surprised by the ending, and how the story came together.
I loved it and think it's a lovely Christmas read

3.5 stars.

This was cute, cosy and comfy. All the Christmas feels of a Hallmark movie were present in this story.

I enjoyed the twins relationship and the small town vibes. I also enjoyed the sweet romance that took place and the cheery, jolly community.

A twin swap, lots of baking and set at Christmas?! Yes please!

In The Holiday Swap, Charlie Goodwin is a chef on a reality baking show in LA (along with her arch-nemesis Austin) who has a very serious concussion on set one day and loses her sense of smell. With a chance of hosting her own show on the line, she asks her identical twin sister Cass to swap places until she feels better. Cass is also a great baker, working at the family bakery in their cute mountain hometown. She's recently broken up with her long term boyfriend and needing some space, agrees to swap places with Charlie. Of course chaos ensues, with both sisters falling for a guy who thinks she's the other twin! Can they keep up the pretense or will everything crash down around them before Christmas?

This is a super cute Christmas book, it's like The Parent Trap if they were adults! I enjoyed seeing both of their lives and seeing them enjoy the change of pace: Charlie begins to enjoy being in the small hometown she thought she'd outgrown, while Cass has a chance to spread her wings and enjoy the wider world. The romances are cute, there's nothing very steamy in these books, it's a very clean romance. Essentially it's like a Hallmark movie in a book! I do think that the twins could have let a few more people in on the secret to lessen the drama of everything and the recipes sounded delicious, I would have liked some of them at the end of the book, I think it would have been a nice addition. If you're looking for a cosy Christmas read, then this is a great place to start! 3.5 stars

This was very cute. It felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie, complete with adorable smalltown shenanigans and main characters with fun jobs.

When Charlie loses her sense of taste and smell after an accident on the set of her baking competition show, she calls on twin sister Cassie to switch places like they used to do as kids. The plan is easy: Cassie will step into Charlie's shoes, finish judging the baking competition and convince Charlie's boss to give her the job of presenting the next baking show the network has planned. Meanwhile, Charlie will take over from Cassie and run the family bakery back in their quaint little hometown. The plan quickly derails, with both of the sisters getting tangled in a web of lies and deceit, putting careers and family legacies on the line. Add a gorgeous physician's assistant and a handsome firefighter to the mix, and you have the perfect recipe for disaster.

I loved this, plain and simple. The love interests were perfect, there were plenty of funny moments, and I liked how both sisters generally made a mess of the other's life before attempting to fix everything. One minor irritation was how late in the game the sisters revealed their true identities to their respective love interests. I would have liked it if they had told those poor guys a little bit sooner what was going on.

All in all, this had the perfect amount of Christmas magic. A fantastic book for when you just want to curl up under a blanket on a cold winter's day.

I would watch the absolute crap out of this if it were a Hallmark movie.

This is a perfect match up of The Great British Bake Off and The Princess Switch. I absolutely loved both perspectives here, and I never found any trouble with telling who was talking.

The third act break ups were a little off, to me, but I did really enjoy this book as a whole. I would have loved some recipes to try out at home though, or help and tips with a sourdough starter.

It's a hallmark movie in book form, which makes it's a million times better. I loved the romance in this so much!! Such a cute read and just a heartwarming experience.

4.5 ⭐️

This was such a quick and fun read!
I absolutely loved the whole Winter-y, Christmas-y feel of the story and the vibes that gave off!

The Holiday Swap is one of those books where there’s no one you hate (except those 1-2 people) but mostly, it’s just fluffy, cute and romantic!

The small- town setting remains one of my favourites in romance books and I loved our little town of Starlight Peak and the Woodburn Breads bakery! All the delicious food descriptions we got was just a cherry on top!

A thing that I love about small towns is how we get to know everyone else in the town too! There wasn’t anyone in the Starlight Peak that I didn’t like 🥰

Both the twins, Charlie and Cass instantly won me over! They’re identical twins but had an entirely different lives and personalities. Seeing them trying to adjust to each other’s lives was very entertaining and also brought out some hilarious moments! Both of their POVs were very engaging.

I also have to say that I really appreciated having two cinnamon roll love interests!! Both Jake and Miguel were so sweet and nice that loving them was inevitable.

Charlie and Cass lived such a different life from one another yet it still revolved around food and desserts. These two finding themselves and their happily ever afters in the most unexpected places filled my heart with so much love and warmth!!

The Holiday Swap was such sweet, lovely and feel-good book and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get into the festive mood, loves short, sweet and fluffy love stories, wants to get out of a reading slump or just wants to read a holiday romance!

A huge thank you to Netgalley for my e-arc!

This was such a charming holiday read, I could barely put it down because I was just transported into the story. I loved the plot of identical twins switching places and the chaos this causes, and both of the romances were very cute. I think this will be a great read for people who don't typically read a lot of romance, but would love to pick something up for the holidays.

Reading this book felt like eating a freshly baked warm cinnamon roll, drinking a cup of hot chocolate and cosying up by the fireplace. It’s a heartwarming, sweet and funny story of a swap, where twin sisters Charlie and Cass switch lives for a week after baking celebrity Charlie has an accident at work and loses her sense of smell and taste. Cass fills in while Charlie runs the family bakery in their home town. Obvious hijinks occur when they come into situations with people who think they're the other, and they are like fish out of water.

This story has a great cast of characters, all of them so loveable you wish you knew them in real life. This is THE book I want to recommend everyone read over the holidays and I wouldn’t be surprised if next year Vanessa Hudgens starred in this as a Christmas movie for Netflix. This was a perfect and sweet holiday read that actually made me look forward to Christmas. I highly recommend it to anyone!

A huge thanks to Netgalley for approving me to read this.

I originally started reading this and got very strong ‘the princess switch’ vibes (film on Netflix) and that’s why I first shortly put it back down again. However, upon picking it back up as a joint buddy read in November, I found as the story to progress it was a lovely read. Yes it had some similarities being baking but I really enjoyed how it was sisters and watching them blossom during the switch.

Full of lots of festivities, drama and romance (of course) this is a lovely Christmas read.

I really enjoyed this book by the end but found it a bit tedious at the beginning for reasons I can't really articulate. Found parts of it annoyingly negative, like there was lots of complaining(?) Or parts just felt too contrived?

Just took me a while to get into the groove of it. But on a whole not a bad read.

**Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me access to this book in return for an honest review.

This was such a cute story, almost like a Hallmark movie in a book. It definitely left me feeling (slightly prematurely) ready for Christmas, and would be the perfect festive read!

It's been a while since I last read a book featuring twins switching places and this one was done to perfection. Alternating chapters focusing on each twin, as they swap lives for the run up to Christmas, after Charlie is concussed and loses her sense of taste and smell - which is less than ideal when you are hosting a bake-off style programme on TV.

Whereas Cass runs the family bakery back in the picturesque Starlight Peak, and is also a talented baker, but never really pushed outside her comfort zone but will do anything for her sister.

Let's just say it's a lot harder to swap places as an adult when you live separate lives when they used to do it at school, and nothing is as simple as it may sound.

I loved seeing them out of their natural habitats and trying to learn just what their sister's life really entails. Each wants the other to take care of certain situation too, and the similarities don't end there as there are definitely romantic interests that may not know who they are getting involved with.

And then there is the baking on both sides of the swap, this is certainly a book that will get your mouth watering and craving sweet treats.

I really enjoyed both Cass and Charlie's stories, as well as seeing how the TV show was filmed, while at the same time loving the small town life too - there is something for everyone and it all spoke to me.

It's just a highly enjoyable and delicious holiday romance and a really good debut novel.

Thank you to Hodder & Stoughton and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I absolutely loved this book! The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox tells the story of identical twin sisters Charlie and Cass who swap places in the twelve days leading up to Christmas after Charlie has an accident on her baking show temporarily making her lose her sense of smell and taste, so Cass pretends to be Charlie on her show whilst Charlie pretends to be Cass running their family bakery. This was a fun festive read that would be brilliant as a Christmas movie. I would love to live in Starlight Peak!
Thank you to NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton for the ebook ARC.

E-arc gifted by NetGalley and Hodder and Staughton. What a charming, spell-binding story of two twins who take over each other’s lives for a week. Calamity inevitably ensues! I really liked this - it’s cute and heart-warming, and perfect for Christmassy vibes. This needs to be a Christmas film!
