I was invited by the publishers to read this book. I accepted and quickly realised that this is a follow up to a previous book and had to guess at the previous story line.

It is not normal thatI give up on a bo9k, I have picked this up a few times this week but just cannot gather any enthusiasm for it (or some of the characters).

I may come back to it.

A beautiful story, full of romance and family drama with great characters.
Set in a small village Penvennan, Kerra moves back from London to be with Ross. I enjoyed every page that the author brings to life. Loved it

Who doesn't love a visit to Penvennan Cove! Kerra's life is getting more & more complicated with so much going on. So many gossiping about her life & the villagers are being stirred to feel unsettled. Ross is trying to get on with his life too but nothing is straight forward. The characters are still captivating & I can't wait for the next book.

I quite enjoyed this, the writing was good and the setting beautiful and well described, but I did find the characters a little annoying by the end and the idea that two adults had to hide their relationship in case it might upset their parents who disliked each other a little contrived. That said. it was an easy read - perfect for the beach and I probably would read the next in the series!

The second in the Penvennan Cove series. Some old characters revisited and although this book can be read as a stand-alone, perhaps more enjoyable having read the first in the series. As expected in a small community everyone knows everyone else’s business and what they don’t know, they find out or make up! This makes having a secret romance a,I’d a family feud very difficult. A most enjoyable, relaxing read,

DNF @15%, I didn’t realise this was another book in a series so when I tried to read it I couldn’t get into it as I didn’t know what was happening. But thank you to the publishers and netgalley for the arc.

Kerra is 30 years old and has come back from London to her small Cornish home town. She has her own IT business dealing with computer systems for customers. She is successful. She returned home in order to help her father.

Kerra is having a secret affair with Ross. Neither one of them are married, but they must keep the relationship a secret because their fathers would not like it if they knew.

That attitude in 2 adults was one of the problems I had with this book.

The other was my lack of knowledge of what went before.

This is the second book in a series. I did not realize that when I started the book.

Normally, in a series, there are explanations and descriptions of past relationships, past events and people.

I felt as though I had been thrown into the deep end of a pool. There were discussions and people, but I had no idea how they fit into the great scheme of things.

I know this is all on me. I did not read the first book, because I did not know there was a first book.

My suggestion would be that the author take some time to give readers a foundation so that they understand what is happening.

Because I felt lost a good portion of the time, and I felt that Kerra and Ross should be acting like adults not teens, this book was not for me.

The author is a talented writer. Her descriptions of Cornwall and the coast is quite lovely.. In fact, her writing is very well done.

I hadn't realised that this was the second Penvennan Cove book which would explain a few of my thoughts on the book.
I enjoyed the overall storyline and thought the main character, Kerra, was good, however I felt a bit lost in places where there appeared to be an underlying story which I was missing. There were also very few detailed descriptions of the characters and it took a while to work out who they all were. This is obviously because I hadn't read the previous book. Top tip - buy both to read!
I didn't like either of the dads in the book and couldn't understand why there had to be so much secrecy in the relationships.
I think this book would have received a higher mark from me had I read both books.

I didn't realize there was a first book Coming home to Penvennan Cove that I probably should have read before this one, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was a lovely story and I will read more by this author.

This is the second book in this series which I did not realize until I had started to read it. Thus us in series where you should read the first book as there are a lot of characters and you aren’t given any background about them in this book. I enjoyed the characters with the exception of the fathers. Neither father came across as realistic and I disliked both of them. I figured out some of the storyline early on and even when parts were revealed it wasn’t done with any excitement, it seemed more like an after thought. The setting sounded beautiful but the community members sounded quite nosy and childish so it took away from what might have been a good book. I have read numerous series and while there is a continuation, normally most issues are resolved. This book left me wondering what was going to happen but not enough to want to read the next book in the series.

I had read the first which I would recommend as this follows on the story of Kerra and her return home.
Kerra is in a relationship with Ross but they are having to keep it under wraps due to a long ago falling out between the families.
There is trouble ahead as Ross' father returns from Spain.
Kerra has some great ideas for the community and bringing people together.
Sy and Tegan's relationship takes a new direction.
I really enjoyed the drama's of the cove. There is certainly plenty going on and of course there is the odd misinterpretation.
I look forward to the third and final book in the series.

A beautiful, uplifting story set in the idyllic sounding Cornwall. Kerra returns from her life in London to live back in Penvennan Cove, where the people in the small community all look out for each other,the downside is that it's hard to keep things secret for long. So it's hard for Kerra and her childhood crush Ross to keep their relationship secret, this being so important due to their parents feud.

Kerra has gone back to Penvennan Cove after spending years in London and having a successful career. She has got back with her childhood sweetheart but they have to keep things quiet as her dad doesn't approve of him. Lovely book thoroughly enjoyed it.

This story is set in a small cornish village "Penvennan thrives because of the three main business that are the heart and soul of the community. The pub, the shop and they bakery. They are all owned by local people". This basically sums up the story how local people can be lovely to be around or if they don't agree with any changes or choices you make things can change very quickly.

The protagonist Kerra believes that "ones first love is always a special bond" so has moved from London back to Penvennan Cove where she grew up, to be with Ross. However both their fathers have a deep rooted rivalry and even hatred of each other. So they are trying to keep their relationship a secret from the whole community. 

There is a wonderful array of characters in this community based novel, to many to keep secrets from and as Kerra has several plans for expanding her businesses portfolio it's not long until rumours start to come out. Some true, some not at all! Kerra even describes it as "living in a goldfish bowl at times after the anonymity of living in London".

I really enjoyed reading this book, and feel there  is a lot of scope for a second novel as it's very open ended, with several strands left open.

Kerra’s return to Penvennan Cove has her happy in her professional and personal life for the first time. Her career is back on track as she works with small businesses to help them reach their full potential. She came home to help her father after her mother’s death and she found the love of her life, Ross, her childhood crush.

But, life back in Penvennan Cove isn’t all perfect. Kerra must keep her relationship with Ross secret from her father, and Ross’s father as they have been in a feud for many years. Keeping their relationship secret from their fathers also means keeping it secret from the entire, nosy, gossiping village.

This is not a book that should be read as a stand-alone novel, but it really should be read after the first book Coming Home to Penvennan Cove. It was confusing at first because I had not read the first book, with so many characters that had been introduced in the first book. But, once I got past the initial confusion, I felt transported to the lovely little village and enjoyed the village life that Kerra came back to, with vivid descriptions of the setting.

The conflicts between Kerra and Ross, and their resolve to keep their relationship secret from their fathers seemed authentic and I was rooting for Kerra and Ross to find a way to live together and be happily ever after.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a romance set in a lovely seaside village. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a real page turner about Kerra her job helping small businesses and more importantly her romance with her childhood sweetheart that they tried to keep secret. Feuds between families can do that however secrets are never secrets for long and she was worried about losing everything. A really lovely story and one Ioved.

Numerous hours after thinking I’ll just read the first chapter and I’m finished! Heartbreaking as well as touching. I didn’t want to put this book down for even a moment. This superbly written story stayed with me long after I had turned the last page… I will read again and again I’m sure.

This is such a great book. It had me really invested in the characters and the plot.

It was the perfect escape and I will most definitely be reading more from this author soon!
