I stopped reading after the first chapter because they're was so many f bombs that I didn't want that in my head all day. I don't cuss and think the use of these words are unnecessary. This is the last I'll read from this author.

This was a giant DNF for me.
Joel is a whiny, redundant dude who I cannot hang with. I’m pretty sure he complained/had anxiety over his ex wife every paragraph in the first chapter.

Hard pass

Nick Spalding always finds an interesting angle to look at things. Joel and Amy had a wonderful honeymoon. It was the highlight of their short ill fated marriage. Years later they’re both with new partners and surprise surprise all wind up back there. Hilarity, craziness, emotions, manipulation, lies, truths, old feelings and a lot of crazy all written in true Nick Spalding fashion. The beginning of the book was a little tough to get through for me, but I assure you push once you get beyond the initial shock of what is happening you won’t be able to put this book down. It was a thoroughly enjoyable laugh out loud read.

I didn't like this book at all. To be honest it might be on me because I thought this was a romance and it isn't. Right from the sart I knew I wouldn't like both characters. I got bored pretty quickly. I only got to the end because I always read to whole book before writting a review. It tokk me ages to finish it because I wasn't invested at all in the story.

This was a fun and exciting read. The setting was wonderful and now I want to go to the Maldives with my honey.
Amy and Joes like a lot of couples remember their honeymoon in the Maldives as being almost perfect. Too bad they don't have the same memories of their marriage. It may have started out as a wonderful journey but has tuned into a bitter divorce, with the couple harboring a lot of resentment. But now because of a great deal through Expedia, Joel takes his current, and much younger, girlfriend to the Maldives with the hope of creating the magic he had the last time he was there. But what he doesn't know is that Amy had the same idea and plan with her fiancé.

I haven't read any books by Nick Spalding before, but man I have been missing out. This story is told in alternating view points between Amy and Joel. This story takes you through their pranking each other with the hopes of making the other have a terrible trip. There were many very funny and crazy situations that had me laughing out loud. It has been a long time since a book had me laughing.

This is a must read for anyone who is looking for a good book that they can enjoy and laugh at.

A great author who has written some amazing books, and this is definitely one to add to the collection. An easy ready about a couple whom we’re together but didn’t work out and see each other a few years later@ the destination where they honeymooned. As always with his books loved the twist too. A good quick read, you won’t be disappointed.

What would you do if you planned a romantic getaway with your new girlfriend or fiancé on a small faraway island and realized when you arrived that your ex-spouse was there as well with their new partner? It happened to Joel and Amy. They spent their honeymoon in the Maldives and have such fond memories that they want to recreate those times with their new partners. But the vacation becomes one of revenge, bitter shenanigans, hurt and pain instead.

You Again? was so laugh out loud funny that I found myself cracking up in some inappropriate places. Amy and Joel know each other better than anyone, they know each other’s weaknesses, and they know exactly how to torture each other, which leads to some I Ste see and emotional situations. Overall, a fantastic, uplifting, and hilarious read perfect for vacation!

I did enjoy this book though not one of my favorites. I would compare the writing style to that of Fredrik Backman- who is a great writer but not one I’m a fan of style wise. This story follows Amy and Joel, ex-spouses, that are on a trip with their new significant others and end up on the same island as the two originally shared their honeymoon several years before. As they overcome the awkwardness and anger of ending up at the same place, you follow the craziness of their Maldives adventure. Can their trip be saved or will it be completely ruined by each other’s existence? Read to find out. Toggling between Amy and Joel’s perspective, you get right into their thoughts- however, I feel sometimes a little too far into their thoughts.

Six years ago, Amy and Joel went to the Maldives for their honeymoon and loved it. Six years later, they are divorced and despise each other. Unfortunately, they both respond to the same travel deal that brings them back to the Maldives at the same time, with their respective significant others. So begins a week of drama, scheming, and rivalry as they each try to show the other that they have moved on and are doing great. Funny thing, spending time with someone you once loved but now hate, you just never know what might come from spending time with the other, by force, on a beautiful tropical island.

I have found other Nick Spalding books more humorous than this particular novel, and found Joel to be too immature for my liking. Despite that, this was a fun, quick read, that came at a time where I needed something light to take my mind off of other things, and You Again? certainly delivered what I needed at that time. I enjoyed the way he took a situation from the past and showed how it effects these two people a number of years down the line. He did an excellent job of portraying the array of emotions these two characters went through... some at the same time, as people are complicated, and these two are no different.

Worth reading, Not my favorite Nick Spalding, but still a good book, as all of his novels have been. If you have not read him before, I might start with a different book, to get a feel for just how funny his writing can be, but come back to this one, it is still worth your time.

What a hilarious read. Joel & Amy, ex husband & ex wife stuck on the same idyllic holiday resort together, with their new wives in tow. I chuckled out loud a lot as I read this amusing tale and enjoyed it so much. Silly, yes. Entertaining, definitely! Would really recommend it as a light hearted and entertaining diversion.

This could totally be a movie starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler in their younger days. A cute rom-com, that didn't end quite the way I expected which was a nice change of read.

Can you imagine going on vacation with your new partner and seeing your ex there? But that's exactly what happens to Amy and Joel. You Again is a witty yet insightful look at new and past relationships and how they can transform your lives. I truly enjoyed it and would recommend it.

This wasn't my favorite. I've been reading a lot of contemporary this year and realizing pretty quickly into a book that I can tell whether or not it's going to hit me. This, unfortunately, wasn't for me.

I couldn't connect with the characters the way that I'd hoped, this story sounded like it had so much potential. I'm sure there will be a lot of people who enjoy this novel, unfortunately it just wasn't for me at this time.

Not my favourite Nick Spalding book. I found the 'jokes; Amy and Joel played on one another quite hurtful and childish. I would hope that adults would act in a better way to one another although, this is probably quite naïve of me.

Nick and Amy honeymooned in the Maldives which was the most perfect place in the world. Unfortunately, the honeymoon was much better than the marriage. Living and working together isn’t always a good situation. Their marriage not being the best, a major issue at work was the last straw. Fast forward several years later, Nick and Amy both yearned for the perfection of the Maldives. Sadly, they both picked the same week as they found a great deal online. Seeing each other with their current partners at the airport was not pleasant, not were being on a plane together and then finding that they were going to the same destination. How the two couples react to the situation both as a couple and individually was quite interesting.

I honestly did not enjoy this book very much. I had a hard time liking Amy and Joel, finding them petty and their pranks a bit too much. The ending however, is a surprise, so I’m glad I stuck with it until the end.

This book just made me cringe the whole time. The dialogues and monologues of these two characters are so cheese-y and it takes me out of the story every time and made this book very hard to read for me. The writing style aims to be accessible and I guess, fun, as well, but it totally exudes the opposite. This book is just painful for me to read because I can't help either laughing because of the cringe-fest or laughing because of the secondhand embarrassment I've felt throughout the entire reading experience with this book.

This was a really entertaining read, perfect when you're in the mood for something lighthearted and fun! I'm not going to lie, I was initially drawn in by the cover and definitely expected something along the lines of a second chance romance, but I was not prepared for how amusing the storyline would be.

Joel and Amy, exes who'd gone through a nasty divorce and had subsequently found new partners, coincidentally find themselves on the same tiny island while on holiday. I found the beginning to be a bit slow, and their prank war a bit childish, however, the second half of the book definitely made up for the pacing in the end. I found both main characters kind of... shallow? I'm not entirely sure how to describe it (or if there even is a word to collectively describe it), but they weren't my favourite people but they managed to somewhat redeem themselves towards the end.

I really loved Ray, Amy's fiance. He was definitely one of the more likeable, open-minded characters who provided clarity for Amy throughout the book. In saying that, Cara, Joel's fiance, wasn't my cup of tea.

I think this book was perfect for anyone who loves one-liners and witty dialogue. If you're after a romcom that doesn't necessarily end in a HEA, you'll enjoy it!
