I loved this novel, the storyline and characters are relatable and intriguing! To follow along with Dan and Charlotte’s journey was an absolute joy!
I didn’t realise that this book was the third in a series, reading the first two may have helped give me a bit more of the history. A very easy read and well written story!

Thanks so much to Aria & Aries, NetGalley and Fenella J Miller for the opportunity to read this wonderful book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was the third book in the series, and even though I didn’t read the previous books, I thought this sounded like it would be a good read.

Charlotte just complete training for the Woman’s Auxiliary Airforce and she meets DI Dan Chalmers after a crime occurs near Charlotte’s hotel. This leads to some instant attraction, initially a bit one sided. This quickly turns the boom into more of a romance than a mystery.

I would honestly have liked more about the crooked members of the Met than the will they, won’t they, somewhat over dramatic romance between Charlotte and Dan. I know pretty much every romance book has drama and trials until the usually predictable ending of the couple getting together, but I didn’t really feel their connection and I didn’t like Charlotte as much as I hoped.

This is book 3 in the series Girls In blue. It is always Nice to catch up with the characters when you start reading s series. And Even though this book contained a lot of interesting things, corruption, love, murder. It became only average for me.

Another “Girl in Blue” winner! A favourite series for me-I love reading about these amazing strong women from WW11 and would recommend “ The Officer Girl in Blue” to anyone who enjoys historical fiction. This book adds some mystery to the series, including a murder and some detective work from Scotland Yard’s DI Chalmers. Another great read!

I received The Officer Girl in Blue as an ARC in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley. When I received it I didn't realize it was the 3rd book in the series, however I don't know that reading the first two would have made a difference in my understanding of this book. The characters and scenery were well described. I felt like I could see each scene the characters were in. I also loved the use of "old-timey" language that the characters used. I'd like to have known more about Charlotte and Dan so I may have to go back and read to first two in the series for more clarity. .

I had a few complaints about the story and one of them was not the stories fault: My edition of the story seemed to either be out of order or missing pages, so that made it a bit confusing at time, as if I was missing a paragraph or two one the next page. That obviously made the comprehension a bit more difficult. Another issue I had was the wishy-washiness of the main characters. By 50% in, the will they/won't they aspect had happened multiple times already which felt a little overkill by the end. My only other complaint is the title, The Officer GIRL in Blue. This is a woman in the WAAF and why the gender was even necessary confused me as we'd understand that the officer in question was a woman from reading it anyways.

This book is book three in a series. I have not read any of the preceding books and am not sure that it would have made a difference to my understanding of this book. From what I gather, the thing that ties the books together is the friendship of the main characters.

The main characters in this book are Charlotte Fenimore, a young woman who has just completed an officers training program with the Woman's Auxiliary Forces and Detective Inspector Dan Chalmers, an ex-soldier who had severe injuries to his leg while serving as a soldier at Dunkirk. They meet shortly after Charlotte and a friend arrive in London and hear a shooting happen near their hotel. There is an instant attraction on the part of Chalmers which is fairly quickly returned by the way more innocent Fenimore.

I have to confess that I didn't love this book. It was ok but I didn't really feel the emotions between the two and I didn't really like either of them much either. While Charlotte appeared to be the leader of her class of trainees and instantly excelled in whatever job she was placed in, I found her to be quite judgmental and way too prone to drinking more than she could handle. Chalmers suffered with chronic pain and was making decisions about how he would deal with it without even consulting the woman that he was apparently in love with. So many of their issues involved poor communication.

There are elements of mystery and this being a police procedural novel but the main focus was the relationship between Charlotte and Dan.

Many thanks to #NetGalley and Aria & Aries for allowing me to read an advance readers copy. The opinions are entirely my own.

Thank you to the publisher, NetGalley and Fenella J Miller for the chance to read the advance copy of this book in return for a review which is my own opinion.

This is the third book in the series and I was looking forward to reading it having read the other two. It is possible to read this as a standalone book but I think it would be easier to follow if one had read the previous books in the series.
The book finished at a natural point whereby there need not be anymore written in the series but I think this would be a terrible shame and I hope there could be more. I shall look out for more books by this author anyway.

The story follows Charlotte - the third of the friends who made an unlikely friendship in book 1.. It follows her life as an officer in the WAAF and her romance with a hero of Dunkirk. It is predictable I suppose in that she gets her man in the end but its the trials and tribulations that get her there that are entertaining.

I finished this book quickly - an unexpected trip to 2 hospitals with my daughter and a complicated laceration of her ear meant I had a few waiting times when several chapters got read.

I really enjoyed this book and was slightly sad that it finished

Thank you again to allow who allowed me the chance to read this lovely book

An enjoyable book that appears well documented in respect of the vocabulary and attitudes of the period. The characters appear well drawn and highly believable.
I enjoyed the story but found it ended a bit abruptly. I would have liked a bit more.
This is a stand alone story but I would have liked to have been able to read the two previous books.

The Officer Girl in Blue by Fenella Miller is one of a series of quick reads based on women who served in WWII. The plot is predictable but if you just need something quick, it will do.

I love books like this and this one by Febella Miller did not disappoint. I would recomend to all who like to read about women roles and how there lives were affected but taking on what was traditionally a men's world at that time.

Thanks to#NetGalley for the advance copy in return for an honest review

Having read the previous Girl in Blue books, I was thrilled to be offered the chance to review this one and I was not disappointed! This was just the perfect combination of drama and romance. I really, really hope there will be another in the series as I want to know what happens next for Jane, Nancy and Charlotte.
Fenella J Miller is fast becoming a favourite author of mine.
Just brilliant.

I adore Fenella J Miller's books, and this one was up to her usual high standards. Beautifully written, and Charlotte is a believable and likable character.

Having only read the second book in the series it was nice to catch up again with the three girls and read all about how life was treating them, this book was focused on Charlotte and how determined she was at doing her job, how she meets a policeman in unfortunate circumstances and it leads to a romance she would never have been interested in previously, twists and turns and plots of murder keep you reading on, can't wait to read what's in store for the three girls next
Wonderfully written and a good storyline as usual

Having read the first two books in the series I was very looking forward to this one. I enjoyed it but felt it was rather twee, charrlotte and Dan really loved themselves a wee bit over the top for my liking.

I loved the wrap up to the girls in blue. Charlotte’s story is probably my favorite of the 3. She is so independent and doesn’t take any abuse from Dan. My only complaint is there s not more of it. I wish there was an Epilogue that got us to VE Day.

I requested to read and review this book for free from Aria Publishing. This book has drama, suspense, romance, mystery. This book is set in Europe during the war. Sometimes the mostly unlikely people click and they have find love or friendship or maybe both. Charlotte is head strong, firece. Loyal
Dan is no nonsense type of guy. I loved seeing in this boom getting more freedom and the world knowing that women could do a lot more then what people think. Yes during this time it's still a man's world but slowly realizing how much women are needed. Can a tradey bring people together or tear them apart. How much can one person sacrifice. This book is for any type of reader and can be read anywhere.

I was so looking forward to reading this book to find out how the girls were getting on in the lives they are leading during ww11.Nancy is happy with David and their children, Jane and Oscar are enjoying their time together when they get to see each other. Charlotte is still a girl in blue and unsure about whether she will ever find someone to love like her dear friends have. I have to say i have loved this series of books they draw you in and feel as though you are alongside Charlotte as she journey's to her new posting. Thank you Fenella J Miller it is a brilliant book 5*
